Why Liberals should fear Poilievre: Like Diefenbaker, he’s a master communicator

Pierre Poilievre’s populism – taking his party “from suits to boots,” as he smartly puts it – has struck a chord. He’s riding a wave. He crushed the field in the Conservative leadership campaign. The inflation surge has the population angry, seemingly ready for change. And he’s the self-proclaimed tribune of the underclass ready to bring it.

But there’s a problem. The new leader’s timing is way off. With an election two or, more likely, three years away, his momentum now means next to nothing.

Sweden to slash migration as the right takes control

Radical populists will ‘freeze’ the asylum system

Sweden’s radical right is demanding measures to deport foreign criminals, strip gang members of their citizenship and “freeze” the asylum system as its price for propping up a conservative-led government.

The country is poised for a sharp swing to the right after the populist Sweden Democrats came second in the general election on Sunday, establishing themselves as kingmakers in a finely balanced parliament. After three decades of being shut out by mainstream parties, they have been invited to join coalition talks for the first time.

Marshall said further details will come out later.

Shandro’s office declined to comment.

Islam murders apostates. It is a death cult.

Pierre Poilievre’s disturbing convergence of trouble

Give Pierre Poilievre credit for running one of the most successful political leadership campaigns in Canadian history.

His overwhelming victory in the Conservative leadership race in which he captured nearly 70 per cent of the votes on the first and only ballot is a clear sign of his strategic smarts, his ability to energize his followers and of his team’s organizational skills in signing up hundreds of thousands of new party members.

Glavin: Canada rolls out the welcome mat to top Iranians, in spite of their records

One of the more brazen instances of dodgy Khomeinist big shots coming and going from Canada as if they were just regular visitors and as if Iran were a normal country and not a tyrannical terror state involves the former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps brigadier Ali Reza Razm Hosseini.

Democrats go full delusional on climate change

China, not the US, is now the world’s biggest emitter

Hailed as America’s first comprehensive climate law, the Inflation Reduction Act was signed by President Biden earlier this summer. It had been thirty years and sixty-five days since President George H.W. Bush signed the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Rio de Janeiro. The UNFCCC’s objective was to stabilize concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere “at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system,” a threshold that the convention left undefined.

Mahmoud Abbas’s Palestinian Terrorists

As Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas prepares to address the United Nations General Assembly in New York later this month, there are increased signs that his loyalists are engaged in terrorist attacks against Israel.

As he has done in the past, Abbas will undoubtedly again use the UN podium to affirm his keenness for making peace with Israel and his opposition to terrorism and violence. Needless to say, he is also expected to exploit the international platform to spew more incitement, lies and blood libels against Israel and Jews.

Liberal minister Steven Guilbeault says he doesn’t know what ‘woke’ means. Here’s a primer

Insane person

In his first speech to caucus as new Conservative leader, Pierre Poilievre denounced the “radical woke coalition” running Canada – a reference to the Liberal-NDP agreement to keep Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in power until at least 2025.

When asked by the CBC about the term “radical woke coalition,” Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault responded “frankly, I don’t know what it means to be woke.”
