Canada to provide C$250 mln to U.N. to address global food crisis, says Trudeau
June 23 (Reuters) – Canada will provide C$250 million ($193 million) to the United Nations to address a food crisis exacerbated by supply chain constraints and high inflation after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Thursday.
“We provided half a billion dollars at the beginning of the year (to the United Nations’ World Food Program), and this is an additional C$250 million to address this serious crisis,” Trudeau told reporters at the Commonwealth summit in Kigali, Rwanda.

It reveals that far more undergraduates want to be protected from difficult viewpoints and see certain groups or issues banned from discussion.
Universities should set out explanations of “academic norms” to new students in freshers’ week, the report from the Higher Education Policy Institute (Hepi) recommends. It also suggest that institutions should be careful not to invite too many controversial or inflammatory speakers.
While this is a UK survey I feel certain the same would hold true in North America. You have to wonder at the quality of education provided these young geniuses and whether it’s worth society’s continued investment.
US Air Force Won’t Reveal ID of Member Arrested in Connection to Insider Attack
A U.S. Air Force service member was arrested in connection to an attack on a small American base in Syria that injured four, officials said Thursday.
“As part of an ongoing investigation, on June 16, an Airman was taken into custody stateside in conjunction with the attack in Green Village, Syria,” Air Force spokeswoman Ann Stefanek said in a statement, referring to the April incident.
The military hasn’t released the service member’s name unless he or she is charged.

The Sept. 13, 2021, analysis by Rapid Response Mechanism Canada, which tracks foreign interference, says researchers observed Communist Party media accounts on Chinese social media platform Douyin widely sharing a narrative that the Conservatives would all but sever diplomatic relations with Beijing.
The report, obtained by The Canadian Press through the Access to Information Act, was prepared just a week before Canadians went to the polls.

Justice Clarence Thomas wrote the opinion in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v Bruen, holding that states demanding a special reason to grant access to the right to bear arms violates both the Second and Fourteenth Amendments.
