Wiretaps caught Colombian cocaine group discussing Venezuelan military’s ‘Cartel of the Suns’

The broker told his client he had a relative in the “little red party” with links to the “famous Suns” who, for an up-front fee, would guarantee safe passage of the container with the cocaine onto the ship docked at the Venezuelan port.

The cocaine — a batch of 32 kilograms hidden inside two electrical generators — was destined for Libya.

I’m surprised CBC didn’t blame Trump.

Anti-ICE Types Enjoy Their Alternate Reality Heroics Until They’re Not

One of the most befuddling and truly irritating things about all the theatrics surrounding the ICE enforcement brouhaha has been the levels of self-delusion that the Left is willing to indulge in in order to perpetuate the hysteria.

These lunatics have suspended time and reality in their demented and twisted brain housing groups.

An incident can happen, and be filmed without any alteration, then shown right in front of them, and they will immediately devise a different scenario than the one on screen out of whole cloth, as if it were some avant-garde ad-lib theater exercise.

The data noted that Dec. 28 was the busiest day for road travel at the border, with 73,800 Canadians returning to the country.

EU bans ‘motherly’ and ‘Frenchmen’ in war on gendered words

Motherly, mother tongue, maiden name and masterpiece are “banned” words in a new EU-funded gender-neutral guide to aid greater European linguistic integration.

The guidelines are designed to counter the use of language that is “biased, discriminatory or demeaning” by implying that “one sex or social gender is the norm”.

Instead, it sets out detailed lists of language which aim to provide people with gender-sensitive, non-sexist, inclusive and gender-fair alternatives.

Germany’s nationalist AfD party looks to take power in 2026

BERLIN — For the 13 years since its founding, the nationalist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party — labeled “right-wing extremist” by the country’s domestic intelligence agency and accused by others of xenophobia, antisemitism and Islamophobia — has stood in opposition. Opposition to the European Union. Opposition to immigration. And, as the largest party outside the governing coalition after last year’s federal elections, opposition to Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

This year, the AfD is looking to lead for the first time — by winning control of a state government.

CALGARY — The US Deputy Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary, Jim O’Neil, has bashed Canada’s medical assistance in dying (MAiD) program as being a “strange new horror” when it comes to its organ donations.

Iran Is Hunting Down Starlink Users to Stop Protest Videos From Going Global

With the government shutting down the internet and throttling phone services, Iranians are leaning heavily on Elon Musk’s Starlink service to share videos of growing protests and the regime’s escalating crackdown with the world.

But Iran has intensified efforts to jam the service, which is banned in the country, and users are being hunted.

Over the weekend, authorities began searching for and confiscating Starlink dishes in western Tehran, said Amir Rashidi, director of digital rights and security at Miaan Group, a U.S. nonprofit opposed to internet censorship.

Oh No! It’s The Tone Police! Run President Trump! Run!

Awesome ad.

ICE’s online posts and advertisements set a dangerous tone

After watching the video of the tragic shooting of Renée Nicole Good by a federal immigration officer in Minneapolis, U.S. Vice President JD Vance said: “What you see is what you get in this case.”

Long before software turned “what you see is what you get” into WYSIWYG, it was the catchphrase of Geraldine Jones, comedian Flip Wilson’s iconic character, who also dodged blame with her excuse, “the devil made me do it.” Geraldine understood that surface impressions feel complete precisely because they’re vivid. They rarely are complete.

Facing Contempt Threat, Clintons Refuse to Testify in Epstein Inquiry

Bill and Hillary Clinton refused on Tuesday to testify in the House’s Jeffrey Epstein investigation, escalating a monthslong battle with Representative James R. Comer, Republican of Kentucky, and effectively daring him to follow through on his threats to hold them in contempt of Congress.

“Every person has to decide when they have seen or had enough and are ready to fight for this country, its principles and its people, no matter the consequences,” the Clintons wrote in a lengthy letter to Mr. Comer, which was obtained by The New York Times. “For us, now is that time.”

What gall.

Michael Taube: How Poilievre can regain his lost political momentum

Pierre Poilievre is surely looking forward to what 2026 will bring. But while the new year may still be in its infancy, there are two pressing matters he needs to deal with right off the bat.

First, he faces a mandatory leadership review at the Conservative Party’s national convention in Calgary from Jan. 29-31. A few left-leaning political commentators have attempted to turn this into a big deal. They point to a Dec. 11, 2025 Angus Reid Institute survey that showed only 58 per cent of “recent Conservative voters” want him to stay on as leader in the next election. That survey doesn’t tell the whole story, however. There’s a big difference between the views of loyal Conservative party members, who are strongly behind Poilievre, and the unreliable, ever-shifting allegiances of Canadian voters. The former group, and not the latter, will ultimately decide Poilievre’s fate.

Scott Adams, ‘Dilbert’ Cartoonist, Author, and Podcaster, Dies at 68

Scott Adams, a cartoonist, author, an independent-minded pundit and podcaster, has died at the age of 68 after a rather public battle against prostate cancer. The host of Real Coffee with Scott Adams, the creator of the legendary comic strip Dilbert, and the author of numerous books, had continued with his livestreaming routine, seven days a week throughout his treatments for the disease up until yesterday. In the process, he treated his audience like close family during his cancer journey.

This sucks. Thanks for the laughs.

‘They just kept killing’: Eyewitnesses describe deadly crackdown in Iran

“I saw it with my own eyes – they fired directly into lines of protesters, and people fell where they stood.”

Omid’s voice was shaking as he spoke, fearful of being traced. Breaking the wall of silence between Iran and the rest of the world takes immense courage, given the risk of reprisals by the authorities.

Omid, in his early 40s and whose name we have changed for his safety, has been protesting on the streets of a small city in southern Iran over the past few days against worsening economic hardship.
