‘Everything’s up’: What’s causing inflation? Quebecers weigh in

These are difficult times for most Canadian families.

The exorbitant price of gasoline is having an impact on the price of the grocery basket, which was already on the rise.

In addition, there is the explosion in the cost of rent and energy, which is contributing to the impoverishment of the middle class and those who are already below the poverty line.

Justice Department to review police response to Uvalde shooting

The Department of Justice will conduct a review of local law enforcement’s response to the Uvalde mass shooting last week that killed 19 children and two adults, it announced Sunday.

Why it matters: Local and state law enforcement officials have faced intense criticism for their response to the shooting as details and a fuller timeline of events have emerged.

Pierre Poilievre ‘could be vulnerable,’ pollster says, as support softens for frontrunner

Three weeks ago, Charles Vincent drove to a local hotel in Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil, Que., to meet Pierre Poilievre. Vincent ended up buying a membership and even took a picture with the Ottawa-area MP, whom he first heard of during the trucker convoy last January.

But after this week’s French debate, Vincent isn’t so sure he will be voting for Poilievre.

Full disclosure I will likely be voting PPC.  Poilievre is fun but there is really no difference between the CPC & LPC.

Narrative Collapse In The Canadian Residential School Blood Libel

While there were abuses at residential schools—which were a result of the Canadian government’s desire to provide free compulsory education to children living on reservations where there were no schools—what we’ve seen is a bunch of crazy lies.

Grade 1 Kids In BC School Taught That “Gender Is A Spectrum”

Parents are expressing concern after a British Columbia elementary school put up a board teaching six and seven-year-old kids that “gender is a spectrum,” as well as gender ideology terms.

In a now-deleted tweet, the Sooke School District (SD62) school board wrote that a “Grade 1 teacher champion at Ruth King Elementary along with (a) fellow teacher” created the display “for the school lobby for the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.”

Unable To Play Race Card, Establishment Media Ignores Backlash Against Singh Selling Out To Trudeau

Every time it seems the establishment media can’t get more biased and manipulative, they outdo themselves yet again.

Remember when Jagmeet Singh was confronted by many angry Canadians who happened to be White?

The media was all over it.

The Nastiest Divide In Ontario Politics Isn’t Between Right And Left

I want to repeat something I said in my last column that has only been confirmed by this little intra-progressive skirmish: the nastiest divide in Canadian politics, and certainly in Ontario politics, is not between the right and everybody else — it’s between the centre and the left. For all the frustrated anti-Ford voters out there wondering why the Liberals and NDP don’t simply co-operate, it’s actually a really easy thing to explain: they do not like each other, they never have, and they likely never will.

Joe Biden Paying Contractors $3M Every Day to Not Build Border Wall

“Joe Biden canceled the construction of a border wall along the southern border, calling it a waste of money,” she continued. “But since he canceled that contract, the administration has continued paying contractors upwards of $3 million every single day to watch over these unused materials.”

“So why are we paying people to watch over materials that will not be used in this administration, according to him? Why don’t we turn it over then to the state governments who do wish to construct a border wall?” Ernst said.

Scientists Discover Covid Vaccine’s ‘Trojan Horse’ Delivery May Lead to Serious Neurological Disorder

A British medical research institute has discovered that the Oxford-developed AstraZeneca vaccine, a jab that uses a ‘trojan horse’ delivery system based on a weakened viral strain, is potentially connected to an uptick in a serious neurological disorder called Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS).

Why Baltimore didn’t defund the police

Performative politics won’t help victims of crime

In Baltimore the protests that followed the death of George Floyd felt less like an eruption and more like a mellow reprisal of events that had taken place five years earlier. The death of Freddie Gray in police custody had sparked protests that ended in injuries to both protestors and police, mass arrests, widespread property damage, arson, and no significant policy changes. The 2020 protests, in contrast, were less spontaneous, largely directed by civic leaders, and far less violent. Out of their ashes emerged a young mayoral candidate named Brandon Scott, who was running on a progressive platform of public safety.

Stop telling Ukraine to give up

It is not the West’s place to demand that Ukraine cede territory to Russia.

The dynamic of the war in Ukraine appears to have shifted in Russia’s favour. After retreating from the outskirts of Kyiv in April, the Russian army has since refocused its efforts on taking swathes of eastern Ukraine. To that end, the Kremlin has poured thousands of troops and hardware into the Donbas region, laying siege to key cities in its two provinces of Donetsk and Luhansk. Ukrainian officials have admitted this week that Russia now has the ‘upper hand’ in the Donbas. Serhiy Haidai, governor of Luhansk, estimated that as little as five per cent of his province was still under Ukrainian control – down from about 10 per cent a week ago.

The green agenda is not about saving the planet, but gaining wealth and power

A FEW days ago we published Ben Pile’s alarming analysis of the true scale of the government’s net zero and green agenda on inflation and the cost of living crisis. Today we are republishing the film he made which illustrates and explains how misguided energy and climate policies have been contributing to this accelerating economic crisis for years.
