Progressives have made gun control harder

The Left’s disregard for law and order damaged the cause of reform

Every murder is a unique tragedy — and yet there’s something horribly familiar about the headlines this morning. “Texas shooting: 19 children among dead in primary school attack” is the BBC’s top story today; but it probably won’t be long before we’re reading about a similar event — with only the precise location and casualty count changing.

Ricky Gervais has broken the spell of wokeness

The trans ideology cannot survive mockery or scrutiny.

In his new Netflix stand-up special, Ricky Gervais tells jokes about trans people, AIDS and Hitler. You can probably guess which he is in trouble for.

In SuperNature, released last night, Gervais jokes that he is fed up with ‘old-fashioned women’ – that is, ‘the ones with wombs’. You know, those ‘fucking dinosaurs’ and ‘fucking TERF whores’ who worry about women’s spaces, their privacy and their safety. He says he now much prefers the ‘new women’, with their beards and penises, who he says are ‘as good as gold’.

The 20 Dumbest Hollywood Hatemongers, Part II

Celebrities unhinged.

When Donald Trump stunned the Hollywood Left by denying Hillary Clinton a White House win in 2016, he triggered a tsunami of celebrity bile. For the next four years and after, Hollywood elitists vented their online rage at Trump, at the 63 million Americans who voted for him in 2016, and the 74 million who voted for him in 2020, smearing them as “white supremacists,” “deplorables,” and “domestic terrorists.”

Rupa Subramanya: WHO and the Davos elite leave a lot to be desired

Canadians elect our leaders to work in our interests, not those of international bureaucrats or the rich and powerful

As the World Economic Forum (WEF) meets in the Swiss ski resort of Davos, and as the World Health Organization’s (WHO) 75th World Health Assembly convenes in the Swiss lakeside city of Geneva, questions are once again being asked about the outsized importance of international organizations such as these. Truth be told, the WEF is not an international organization, despite its claims, and despite the fact that many governments treat it as one. It’s really a glorified NGO with pretensions of grandeur that, in point of fact, is an event organizer for the rich, famous and powerful to gather far away from the riff-raff in a difficult-to-reach resort town. You might just say that what happens in Davos stays in Davos, as the many lavish private parties and networking events are the real deal, with the portentous and pedantic sessions being a useful cover.

Majority Report: Canada’s Latest Advance in Precognitive Legislation

The 2002 film Minority Report was a box office success and, like the Matrix franchise, emerged as one of the most talked-about movies of recent times. The crux of the film involved a “precrime” policing unit that could act to prevent crimes before they were committed, on evidence provided by a team of comatose subjects with precognitive abilities. Of course, the plot was utterly absurd, demanding major suspension of viewer disbelief, but nonetheless provocative in its social and political implications.

Beto Slammed For Political Stunt During Press Conference: ‘Danced On The Dead Bodies Of Children’

Texas Democrat gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke faced intense backlash on Wednesday afternoon after he crashed a press conference from the state’s top officials to promote his political ambitions.

O’Rourke interrupted a press conference held by Governor Greg Abbott (R) and other elected officials in response to the tragedy on Tuesday at Robb Elementary School. An 18-year-old Latino male stormed the building and opened fire on students, killing at least 19 children, before a nearby U.S. Border Patrol agent rushed into the building and killed the suspect.

Terror in the Tunnels

Violent crime is surging on New York subways because the justice system switched its focus from enlightened prevention to post-mayhem mop-up.

On Sunday, Daniel Enriquez became the New York City subway’s latest “random” crime victim, shot in the chest at close range and killed as he traveled from Brooklyn to Manhattan for midmorning brunch. Enriquez was the fourth person to die by violence on the subway this year, and the third to be killed by a stranger. Each of the four subway killings has something in common with the others: justified intervention by police, prosecution, or incarceration could have prevented it. A few years ago, it likely would have. New York is suffering soaring crime because it has abruptly switched its justice system from enlightened prevention to gruesome mop-up.

Posted only because at some point everyone in the GTA has listened to Q107.

National Security Crisis: Russia’s and China’s Nuclear Threats

Russia’s war on Ukraine has brought renewed attention to Russia’s nuclear arsenal and the risk of nuclear war, especially after Russian President Vladimir Putin placed his country’s nuclear forces on high alert shortly after invading Ukraine on February 24. Close to half of Americans are very concerned that Russia would directly target the U.S. with nuclear weapons, and an additional 3 in 10 are somewhat concerned about that, according to a recent poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

Ukraine war: Bodies of dead Russian soldiers abandoned near Kyiv

When their dogs started digging insistently at a spot in the woods, villagers in Zavalivka called in the authorities.

A Ukrainian military team were soon at the scene in white protective suits, carefully removing the topsoil.

They uncovered a man’s body, face down with his legs oddly twisted beneath him. It was clear from his uniform that he was a Russian soldier.

VILLAINS, UNITED? Soros Poured Millions into Groups Trying to Bring Down Musk

Liberal billionaire mega-donor George Soros funded at least five organizations behind a now infamous letter that claimed Musk’s expected buyout of Twitter “will silence and endanger marginalized communities, and tear at the fraying fabric of democracy.” Open Society Foundations records indicate that Soros gave five of the groups behind that letter a whopping total of $3,915,000 from 2016 to 2020. All five groups — NARAL Pro-Choice America, Free Press, the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC), Access Now and UltraViolet — support a variety of radical causes, including abortion, censorship and anti-woman gender ideology.

Biden to keep Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on terrorist list, Israel claims

Joe Biden has decided not to take the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) off the US foreign terrorist list, according to the Israeli prime minister, dealing a heavy blow to the chances of the Iranian nuclear deal being revived.

In a statement, Naftali Bennett said he had been informed by the US president that he would not be ceding to the Iranian demand that IRGC’s terrorist status be lifted.
