Carbon tax will cost farmers $235 million: PBO

The PBO estimates farmers will be charged $9 million in carbon taxes this year. By 2022, the number is expected to increase to around $60 million annually.

The statistics were created on the request of Conservative MP Philip Lawrence. Lawrence recently proposed a bill which would exempt farmers from the carbon tax on propane and natural gas.

Canada’s Plan to Regulate Internet Blasted by Twitter and More, Reveal Unsealed Documents

Professor Michael Geist, Canada Research Chair in internet and e-commerce law at the University of Ottawa in a recent blog post shared a trove of submissions from the Government of Canada’s online harms consultation that had previously not been made public.

Included are submissions from Twitter, TikTok, Microsoft, Pinterest, the Business Software Alliance, and more, all heavily criticizing the government’s plans. Even Canada’s largest telecom companies (Bell, Rogers, Telus, Cogeco, Quebecor, and Shaw) provided a joint submission.

Only a fraction of consultation submissions were actually made public by Canadian Heritage, while the rest were never disclosed — until now. Geist was able to acquire these submissions by filing an Access to Information Act request to compel disclosure by law of the consultation submissions.

Canada Experiencing Fastest Rate Of Ethnic Change In Western World

“Justin Trudeau won suburban ridings with large immigrant populations across the country. Politically, keeping those voters loyal is his first and most important task.”

A study from Eric Kaufmann, Professor at the University of London, states that “Canada is experiencing the fastest rate of ethnic change of any country in the Western world.”

Prof. Kaufmann is quoting Statistics Canada report projections, and he suggests that based on current immigration patterns, Canada will be 80% non-white in less than a century.

How Hollywood Celebrated Earth Day 2022: Tree Hugging, Fossil Fuel Bashing, ‘Celebrating Mother’

Celebrities including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Rosanna Arquette, and Paramount Network’s Yellowstone star Piper Perabo gave shout-outs to Greenpeace, which continues to wage war on the oil industry and promote climate change ideology.

Other stars observing Earth Day include Barbra Streisand, Mark Ruffalo, Kevin Bacon, Chelsea Handler, and Kerry Washington.

Their activism comes amid the worst inflation in four decades, which has pushed up energy prices, including gas prices, to record levels. As Breitbart News reported, energy prices have soared 32 percent in the past 12 months.

Oh, Good. Chicago Putting “Unarmed Security Guards” On The Trains And Buses

In Chicago, on just one evening this week, there were three people injured and one person killed in multiple shootings. Sadly, that wasn’t a big enough number to make the headlines outside of the Windy City because it’s really just a typical night out on the town. An increasing amount of criticism has been leveled against the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) because the trains and buses have become some of the most dangerous places to be, particularly after dark. Now, as CBS Chicago reports, the CTA is answering the call for action. But their latest response has been to announce that they will be deploying 300 unarmed guards to ride the lines and monitor the stations. CBS is perhaps overly polite when they ask the obvious question. Will that be enough?

ATF In Turmoil As Top Black Director Demoted, Biden Pushes Second White Man For Top Job

The embattled Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives was rocked again this week when an insider favored for the bureau’s top job was abruptly demoted after being passed over a second time by President Joe Biden.

Reports said that acting Director Marvin Richardson, the highest-ranking black man at the agency who had 30 years of experience with ATF, announced Monday that he was being shoved aside by the White House. Biden last week chose a white lawyer to head the sprawling law enforcement agency after his first pick, another white male, bowed out under pressure.

Nolte: Woke Chickens Come Home to Roost at Disney, Netflix Twitter, CNN

The devastation done to the Woke Gestapo at Disney, Netflix, Twitter, and CNN is glorious and proof of God’s love for us.

As you know, my mantra since the Woke Terror began has been: Hang in there. This won’t last. I was confident of this for two reasons: 1) Woke is a violation of human nature, and 2) this is still America.

Gun Rights Groups Plan Lawsuits to Challenge Federal ‘Ghost Gun’ Regulation

At least two national gun rights groups are contemplating lawsuits to challenge the new federal regulation on privately made firearms, or so-called “ghost guns.”

The final ruling, published by the ATF on Apr. 11, essentially expands the definition of a firearm to include partially complete and readily convertible firearm receivers (also called frames).

Once the ruling goes into effect, those receivers will be regulated just like regular firearms, subject to requirements such as serial numbers and background checks.

The Middle East Doesn’t Care About Ukraine

At first, they were ready to go to Ukraine to join the international legion fighting there. But in the weeks following the Russian invasion, the three young Syrian men changed their minds.

“Why would we fight somebody else’s war?” one of them explained last week as the trio sat around a café table in central Berlin. All three friends, all in their early 30s, are refugees and have been in Germany since 2015. They had discussed going to Ukraine to fight the Russians, who had ruthlessly bombed their own city, Aleppo.

But they decided against it. “We have our own problems,” another of the men argued. “[Syrian dictator] Assad is still in power, the Russians still support him — and nobody cares.”

More hypocrisy from Hollywood

Marvel’s most recent installment, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, has been banned in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar.

The reason according to The Hollywood Reporter, is that the film has a gay character named America Chavez, who also features in the comics.

Since homosexuality is illegal in the Islamic countries in the Middle East, the film didn’t get the approval of the censorship boards.

A Man in a Prom Dress Is a Test Case for the UK’s New Transgender Bathroom Rules

The law allows businesses to decide whether to permit “trans” men in women’s restrooms — but is that enough?

An 18-year-old British man who identifies as non-binary claims he was kicked out of a luxury dress shop last week while trying on prom dresses in the fitting room. The man, Charlie Moore, said he visited the retailer alongside his girlfriend, who also identifies as non-binary.

Moore, a political activist who is the “trans rep” for the youth wing of the U.K.’s Liberal Democratic Party, blasted his claims around social media, naming the business — Monsoon in Birmingham, England — and using his political clout to inflict a firestorm of complaints on the company.

Durham springs the trap on Hillary Clinton’s lawyer

Michael Sussmann could unravel the whole skein of Russiagate lies

The month of May won’t be a merry one for Michael Sussmann, one of Hillary Clinton’s top lawyers at her favorite election law firm Perkins Coie, who is facing a criminal charge of lying to the FBI when he passed information to the Bureau’s general counsel, James Baker. Sussman stated explicitly that he was acting as a “good citizen,” not as a lawyer for Trump’s election opponents.

Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.

Call Them Groomers

By the left’s theory of performative speech, teaching radical sexual theories to kids constitutes grooming.

Over the last five years, the left has lobbed an endless barrage of epithets at roughly half the country. They don’t only label staunch opponents of the progressive agenda “extremists,” “racists,” “fascists,” “homophobes,” and “misogynists“—they apply those same smears to anyone with even small misgivings about the cultural aims of the far left. There is rich irony, then, in progressives’ outrage over conservatives’ recent use of the term “groomers” to refer to those teaching pre-pubescent children about sex in the public schools.

Scarred yet defiant, Mykolaiv will decide the future of the war

Mykolaiv, Ukraine

The lady burrows into the earth. Swathed in blue plastic to protect her against the rain, she pats the soil and digs into it with her hands. She won’t speak to me, but allows me to watch as she tends to her plants and flowers in a patch of soil outside a block of flats in central Mykolaiv.

Peter Menzies: Twitter Joins Wave of Opposition to Liberals’ Attempts to Regulate Internet

Canada’s first efforts to create an Online Harms Act were described by Twitter as alarmingly similar to those employed by China, North Korea, and Iran.

“The proposal by the government of Canada to allow the (proposed) Digital Safety Commissioner to block websites is drastic,” states Twitter’s 2021 response to the Department of Heritage’s proposed legislation.

“People around the world have been blocked from accessing Twitter and other services in a similar manner as the one proposed by Canada by multiple authoritarian governments (China, North Korea, and Iran for example) under the false guise of ‘online safety,’ impeding peoples’ rights to access information online,” it continued.
