Influential China church reports arrests as crackdown on Christians intensifies

An influential Protestant church in China says prominent leaders have been arrested in what appears to be a growing crackdown on the underground church movement.

Nine people were detained on Tuesday after police raided their homes and the church office in Chengdu, in central China, the Early Rain Covenant Church said. Five had been released by Wednesday.

More than 1,000 miles away in Wenzhou, authorities began demolishing the Yayang Church building, video obtained by non-profit ChinaAid, which monitors religious persecution, shows.

Trump plots six-figure bribes to Greenland residents in audacious bid to seize world’s largest island

Donald Trump is considering sending money directly to residents of Greenland as part of his plotted land grab of the Arctic island.

White House officials are discussing a range of options between $10,000 and $100,000 per person to bribe them to let the US take control, people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

The population of Greenland sits somewhere around 56,000 and it currently remains a territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. This means that on the higher end the US could end up paying Greenland residents $5.6 billion should the bribes be massively accepted.

British police allegedly lied to avoid protecting Jews from haters. Sound familiar?

Policing issues in the United Kingdom’s third-largest urban area wouldn’t normally interest Canadians. But Craig Guildford, chief constable of the West Midlands Police (Birmingham being the biggest city under his watch) is currently in very hot water of a sort that some Canadian police chiefs should be, perhaps, as well. A Nov. 6 Europa League soccer match between storied Birmingham club Aston Villa and storied Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv, which was contested in front of roughly 43,000 empty seats, has become emblematic of Jews in the U.K. essentially being punished for their own persecution. And it happens here too.

Looks like slimy vote buying identity politics paid for with tax payer money to me.

Top Democrats Are Agitating For Insurrection And Political Vigilantism

Forget January 6. It turns out January 7 might go down as the date when insurrection really arrived in America — not from the MAGA right, but from the anti-Trump left.

In the aftermath of the fatal shooting Wednesday in Minneapolis of a woman who appears to have tried to ram an ICE agent with her vehicle, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced at a press conference that he had issued a warning order to prepare the Minnesota National Guard to mobilize to “protect Minnesotans” from “rogue ICE agents.”

Things can only get worse: A Crowborough catch-up

AS SIR Keir Starmer slithers back into the saddle of his lacklustre leadership, there has been a deluge of messages from No 10. The sort of messages that presumably are supposed to instil a warm glow in the populace and inspire them to heave to and look forward to a sunnier future. What the circling sharks of Starmer’s own party think of his messaging remains to be seen.

With Trump’s Venezuela move and Greenland threats, are Canadians vulnerable?

U.S. President Donald Trump’s increasingly bellicose stance on taking over Greenland and the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro are combining to trigger questions and theories about what the White House may have in mind for Canada.

The Trump administration’s moves come on the heels of its vow to “reassert and enforce” American pre-eminence in the Western Hemisphere, spelled out officially in a new national security strategy.

Could selling deadly chemicals become legal under assisted dying?

On Wednesday, a British man was jailed for 14 years for selling poisonous chemicals online to allow people to commit suicide. Miles Cross sold the fatal drugs to four people, two of whom, tragically, have since died as a result. In court he appeared to defend his actions, arguing that he simply wanted to “help others end their lives”.

Dramatic Fall in Global Temperatures Ignored by Narrative-Captured Mainstream Media

Global temperature anomalies on both land and sea are dropping like a stone. Net Zero-obsessed mainstream media, science and politics do not do cooling. Confirmation bias that holds humans responsible for hockey-stick style global warming with all its risible ‘settled’ notions has gravely damaged genuine climate science. But the world is cooling rapidly and the silence from the mainstream is both laughable and disgraceful.

Older, 70% white, plunging fertility and lost faith: Who Canada is now

A deep dive into the population data paints a surprising picture of Canadian society and households

Numbers can tell a story. Canada is home to 41.58 million people, according to the latest population estimates, and the average age was 41.7. At the time of the last census, just over half were women and girls, and just under half were men and boys. Of the nearly 30.5 million people 15 and older, 100,815 (0.33 per cent) were transgender or nonbinary. The average household size was 2.4 people. Five per cent of the population — 1.8 million people — self-identified as Indigenous. Almost one-quarter, or 8.4 million people, were immigrants, many hailing from the three leading places of birth: India, the Philippines and China. Of the 450-plus ethnic or cultural origins reported, “Canadian” was tops at 5.7 million people.

Showdown Expected as U.S. Plans European Visit About Greenland

In justifying his desire to ‘take’ Greenland, Donald Trump effectively dismissed Europe’s militaristic capabilities, saying—in capitals, of course—“I DOUBT NATO WOULD BE THERE FOR US IF WE REALLY NEEDED THEM.”

Washington insists it needs the island for security, an issue which it clearly doesn’t trust Europe to keep a handle on, and is currently not ruling out military intervention.

Europe’s continued release of statements in support of Denmark’s control of Greenland comes in spite of the fact leaders would rather the matter was settled by others, suggesting that they are well aware of their own weaknesses.

More … Greenland should hold talks with the US without Denmark, opposition leader says

COPENHAGEN, Jan 8 (Reuters) – Greenland should hold direct talks with the U.S. government without Denmark, a Greenlandic opposition leader told Reuters, as the Arctic island weighs how to respond to President Donald Trump’s renewed push to bring it under U.S. control.
