A throwaway line item in an otherwise innocuous spending package unveiled one way the Biden administration and the Democratic party sees “racial equity.” The Washington Free Beacon revealed a week ago that the Department of Health and Human Services would be distributing free crack pipes to drug users to promote hygiene and advance racial equity. The cost was around $30 million and the program is similar to what left-wing fiefdoms like Seattle and San Francisco already do.
The Canadian Dilemma in a Nutshell
From the perspective of freedom-loving citizens in this country, the trucker convoys and blockades protesting mask and vaccine mandates are a stirring spectacle of patriotism, civic responsibility, and true grit. They represent the offset to heavy-handed and arrogant government that is using everything in its power to suppress their efforts: threats, fines, police coercion, theft of property, and the manifestly illegal sequestering of funds donated to the truckers by private individuals. A conflict of this nature is often framed as the state versus the nation, the authorities versus the people. Whether it applies to the current situation, as we will see, is problematic.
Gassy Jack statue in Vancouver’s Gastown toppled during women’s memorial march, video shows
The statue of John Deighton, more commonly known as Gassy Jack, was toppled Monday afternoon during the annual Downtown Eastside Women’s Memorial March.
Video shared online shows ropes being placed around the statue and then it falling while people crowded around to cheer.

Student fatally shot inside Toronto high school
It happened at around 3 p.m. at David and Mary Thomson Collegiate, which is near Midland and Lawrence avenues.
Police say that the victim, an 18-year-old male, was pronounced dead on scene after being located with a gunshot wound.
Police say that they believe that the shooting was “targeted” and that there is no risk to public safety. They say that they are treating the entire main floor as a “crime scene” right now.
This will play out in the usual way.

Trudeauscu henchman Freelandolph threatens to freeze anti-mandate protesters’ bank accounts
Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said banks will be able freeze personal accounts of anyone linked with the protests without any need for a court order.
Vehicle insurance of anyone involved with the demonstrations can also be suspended, she added.
She said they were broadening Canada’s “Terrorist Financing” rules to cover cryptocurrencies and crowdfunding platforms, as part of the effort to clamp down on the protests.
“It’s all about following the money,” she said.
