This week, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Foreign Minister Wobke Hoekstra (no relation) met with Ukrainian leaders in Kiev. The visit was intended to signal Dutch support to the government of Ukraine in the face of Russian build-up provocations on its border. As with other European national security moves, the meeting may be too little too late.
It was a positive step, strongly supported by the Biden Administration as a sign of NATO unity. The visit, however, recalled efforts — such as the one below — by U.S. and European ambassadors to stop Nord Stream 2, the pipeline from Russia to Germany that then connects to much of the rest of Europe. The Russian threat outlined by the Trump administration was very clear — that Russia would then be able to shut off its gas to Europe in the middle of winter, if it chose to, as a form of blackmail, at which point the US might then be expected to save Europe from its own deal — and the long-term policy and security consequences of completing the pipeline were communicated. Put very simply, building closer economic ties with Russia and Putin is an extremely bad and dangerous idea.
Germany will get its Russian gas. NATO is a paper tiger. Time the US ended Europe’s free ride but Biden won’t do it.
This is how it’s done. https://t.co/LDpbHKGuDn

Prince Andrew’s legal team are diving headlong into the mud and planning to paint his accuser, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, of being on par with twisted Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
The Seattle Police Department released its 2021 crime report this month and the news is not good. Overall, crime is up 10% compared to 2020 but violent crime was up even more…

Three. That is the total number of service members in the U.S. Marine Corps—and the Department of Defense as a whole—whose religious appeal to skip the Covid-19 vaccine has been approved so far. Three.
The rumor among active duty Marines is that at least two of these members were already out of the service or within days of leaving, making the Corps’ approval of their packet something more like a publicity stunt—but these rumors remain unconfirmed. What is confirmed, however, is that of the 3,438 Marines who requested religious accommodation, 3,377 have had that initial request denied. Those still awaiting a verdict number 51. That’s just in the Marine Corps.

An Ottawa judge has granted an interim injunction seeking to silence the honking horns that have plagued residents of downtown Ottawa for the past 11 days.
“Tooting a horn is not an expression of any great thought I’m aware of,” said Justice Hugh McLean during a court hearing in Ottawa Monday.
The request for an injunction came out of a proposed class-action lawsuit filed with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on Friday by lawyer Paul Champ on behalf of his client Zexi Li, a 21-year-old public servant.
BREAKING: Ottawa judge unilaterally makes honking in downtown Ottawa illegal. Canada is officially a banana republic.

Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams, who recently appeared maskless among dozens of masked-up children during a visit to a Georgia elementary school, did so “on the condition that everyone around her” wore a face covering, including children, her campaign said.

Children as young as six are being quizzed on their gender by Scout chiefs, in a move dubbed as ‘woke nonsense’ by critics.
Youngsters in the 112-year-old youth organisation are now being asked to define their gender – instead of their biological sex – in an annual census of its members.
Options on the yearly survey include ‘male, female, I self-identify’ or ‘I prefer not to say’.

It’s time to end the ‘freedom convoy’ in Ottawa by enforcing the law and following the money
…. The goals of the leadership of the so-called freedom convoy were clear from the start: to remove from power the government that Canadians elected less than six months ago. Their blatant treachery was dismissed as comic, which meant many didn’t take them as seriously as they should have. Certainly not our public safety authorities, whose negotiations facilitated the convoy’s entry into the heart of our capital and have watched as its dangerous infrastructure has been steadily reinforced – a policy of engagement that has amounted to a reality of appeasement.
On the first weekend, many Canadians who joined the demonstrations undoubtedly had peaceful objectives. Tired as we all are with unprecedented disruptions that we’ve all endured over the past two years, it’s understandable that many would want to come to Ottawa to protest. It’s a free country, and everyone should be able to express their opinions free of interference from the state, just as the press should be able to report without fear of harassment or intimidation.
But now in its second week, no one should have any doubt. This is sedition. That’s a word I never thought I’d use in Canada. It means “incitement of resistance to or insurrection against lawful authority.”
The elite are very scared. Good.
Go Incognito.
People are currently protesting in Ottawa by carrying around empty jerry cans. Mainstream media is in SHOCK, and as usual, has no idea what is actually going on. https://t.co/jdaFowC4bK

The federal government is proposing a special meeting with provincial and municipal governments to plan how to respond to the trucker convoy protests, now into their second week in the nation’s capital.
Minister of Emergency Preparedness Bill Blair announced Monday that the federal government wants to strike a “trilateral table with municipal and provincial partners,” that he says would allow the various parties responsible for managing the standoff to keep lines of communication open and respond efficiently.

Leaked video captured the harrowing moment a fighter jet crashed onto the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson before plunging into the South China Sea last month.
The pilot was recovered after ejecting from the F-35C Lightning II, which was seen bobbing in the water without its canopy. Seven sailors were wounded in the Jan. 24 incident.

Gotta wonder at what point Rogan will start entertaining these offers, especially since Spotify is removing some of his episodes and the CEO just apologized to employees for contracting with him.
Mounties are investigating several individuals as an illegal protest at the southern Alberta border with the United States at Coutts entered its second week.
