COVID Hysteria Latest Evidence—Left Authoritarianism Is A Thing

COVID-19 has notoriously exposed the inner authoritarian among a lot of people who ordinarily claim to be liberals, e.g., New York Legislation Provides for Indefinite Detention of Unvaccinated at Governor’s Whim, by Kay Smythe, NationalFile.com, December 18, 2021. You can tell that theirs is a characteristically Left Authoritarianism because of its irrational focus on equality rather than efficacy, e.g., its refusal to look at differential racial impact and its refusal to put restrictions on key at-risk populations (the elderly, obese) rather than socializing the suffering across the entire population—because that would be (aargh!) “discrimination.” But the existence of Left Authoritarianism should not be a surprise. There’s been gathering evidence for it in the technical literature.

Jordan Peterson says legacy media in “death spiral,” CBC a “near-corpse”

Renowned Canadian author and psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson slammed the CBC and other legacy media in a tweet last week.

“The legacy media are in an unrecoverable death spiral, spinning ever more uncontrollably. The CBC has become a mewling, meandering, self-righteous, slogan-spewing narcissistic near-corpse,” said Peterson.

He does have a way with words!

Canadians Should Be Outraged By Authoritarian Mass Surveillance

‘Temporary’ government powers and attacks on the sovereignty of citizens have a tendency to stick around long after the initial ‘crisis’ has passed. And the government indeed does plan to keep tracking Canadians.

President Joe Biden campaigned for months that a robust federal response could vanquish the COVID-19 pandemic but then Delta and omicron variants proved him wrong.

Five Important Stories Mainstream Media Has Been Ignoring In Favor Of Covid Fear And Divide

Time and again MSM pundits have demonstrated themselves to be stenographers of the State rather than the arbiters of critical journalism speaking truth to power — Particularly in this day and age where examples like this are innumerable. This is why publications like ours exist.

To that point, living in such an era of deliberate deception via the corporate press as we do, there remains a plethora of vital stories the public needs to know that tends to slip through the cracks.

The Endgame of Transgender Ideology Is to Dismantle the Family

Pelosi and her associates are echoing the socialist-feminist ideology articulated by Shulamith Firestone in the 1970s: “It has become necessary to free humanity from the tyranny of its biology” and “eliminate the sex distinction itself [so that] genital differences between human beings would no longer matter culturally.”

The Terror-Linked Symbol on Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Packaging

Ben & Jerry’s has recently come under fire for its decision to remove its ice cream products from sale and production in Jewish communities within East Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), what the company considers “Israeli occupied territories.” The action has been labeled “anti-Semitic” by the Israeli government and others. Some have even accused Ben & Jerry’s of helping terrorists. The company denies the charges, but what it cannot deny is the fact that it does business with a Muslim food group, IFANCA, that is linked to terror and bigotry, itself. Maybe it is time for Ben & Jerry’s to close up shop not only in Israel, but everywhere.

Pardon me for not joining in the mourning for Desmond Tutu

Bishop Desmond Tutu, the South African bishop known for his fight to end apartheid is being universally lauded. I do not share that sentiment. While I will certainly acknowledge that he was a warrior against one of the great evils of his time, I believe that, on the scales of goodness, he squandered that moral virtue by being an ardent advocate of anti-Semitism and an enemy to Israel.

Adam McKay: another satirist lost to activism His latest film’s agenda is painfully obvious

Adam McKay used to be one of America’s finest satirists. He won several Oscar nominations for his darkly comic The Big Short about the 2008 Great Recession and excoriating portrayal of Dick Cheney in Vice, which were both powerful critiques of how ordinary Americans can suffer from elite crises.

The shift has become all too familiar, but his latest film Don’t Look Up (a heavy-handed attempt at raising awareness about climate change) goes long on activism and short on satire. The film’s laundry-list of targets is reduced to half-baked caricatures that are all too rarely relieved by moments of genuine humour.
