CUSMA is up for review in 2026, and here’s what Trump might want

A mandatory review of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico-Agreement on trade kicks into high gear next year as U.S. President Donald Trump continues his campaign to realign global trade and poach key industries from America’s closest neighbours.

Negotiations on the trade pact, better known as CUSMA, were a stress test for Ottawa during the first Trump administration. The trade talks were tense at times, but ultimately the pact that replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement was hailed a success in all three countries.

Since the president’s return to office, however, confidence in CUSMA’s future has waned. During a meeting with Prime Minister Mark Carney at the White House, Trump called the deal “transitional” and said it may have served its purpose.

Good Men Are Hard To Find, So Why Are So Many Women Divorcing Them?

There’s a big milestone coming up for a lot of families this year: first divorced Christmas.

It might be a challenging day of splitting kids between disparate family events. Or, perhaps, Mom and Dad will behave like adults and both show up to the same gathering in an effort to create some normalcy for their children, who, heretofore, might have had an intact family and simple celebrations.

How to destroy a country: Part 2

THE Marxist left/liberals have completed their ‘long march through the institutions’. They claim the varied lunatic policies they enacted were for the benefit of society, but can this really be the case? When viewed through the prism of reality, much of Socialism’s ideology appears to have one aim and one aim only: the total destruction of society. This is not an overreaction by any means — if societal destruction was your bag, would you not carry out the following?

Start by not giving donated food to foreigners …

A quarter of Canadians are food insecure. Addressing this must be a national priority

Across the country, more and more people can’t meet their basic needs. Families are stretching paycheques to the breaking point – juggling rising rents, transportation costs and grocery bills. These pressures aren’t limited to those living in deep poverty. It’s become mainstream: Full-time workers, students, seniors and parents are making difficult trade-offs that strain their health and well-being.

Where Moth Destroys: Why Has the Pope Appointed a Pro-Migrant Fanatic to Lead the Catholic Church in England?

I was in Westminster Cathedral last week and the place was heaving with migrants and asylum seekers. Only kidding. I was in the cathedral showing my grandson around, but the place was remarkably devoid of migrants and asylum seekers which was probably the result of the two security guards at the entrance.

Funny that, when the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church – my church – seems too keen to welcome migrants, legal or illegal, to our shores and is so keen on the British Government giving so much of our hard-earned taxes to people who have broken our law and make no contribution to the economy, often at the expense of essential services such as GP appointments and housing benefits for people born and bred in this country.

Cancel culture comes out of the barrel of a gun

The murder of Charlie Kirk showed how desperate and dangerous woke culture warriors became in 2025.

On balance, all things considered, are you for or against the cold-blooded murder of a young father-of-two, for saying the ‘wrong’ thing?

It is a sign of the degraded state of our public debate that, in 2025, that question became a live issue. Many on the left sought to justify, and even celebrated, the assassination of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk in September, shot dead while defending free speech at Utah Valley University.

BARBER: The Canadian Grinch who stole Christmas

Canadians are hurting this Christmas season. The London-based PwC reports findings from a mid-year survey that Canadians, in general, were planning to spend significantly less overall than last year on holidays. Gen Z, in particular, expects to cut holiday spending by 35%. Additionally, 45% of Canadians said they plan to shop more for used, upcycled, or resale items.

Plot to mount UK’s worst terror attack foiled: Two ISIS-supporting migrants planned to ‘kill as many Jews as possible’

Walid Saadaoui and Amar Hussein Muslim Terrorists

Fanatics inspired by Islamic State face life in jail after they were today found guilty of plotting a gun attack on Jewish targets which police say could have been Britain’s ‘worst ever’ terrorist atrocity.

In a chilling reminder of how rising anti-Semitism since the October 7 massacre is fuelling violence against British Jews, migrants Walid Saadaoui and Amar Hussein sought to buy a stash of firearms and over 900 rounds of ammunition.

Fuelled by a twisted desire to exact revenge for Israel’s military response to the Hamas atrocity on Britain’s streets, the extremists planned to gun down participants at a march against anti-Semitism in Manchester.

Is Canada’s population decline real, or a statistical mirage?

According to estimates released last week by Statistics Canada, the Carney government is making progress on one of its immigration goals – reversing the enormous run-up in the country’s temporary resident population.

However, though the government appears to be making headway in terms of lowering immigration numbers back to historical levels, it’s a very different story when it comes to raising quality.

Ottawa also needs to take steps to ensure that the population drop reported by Stastcan is real, and not a statistical mirage.

Yup it’s a mirage.

Opposition to Liberal bill that could criminalize quoting Scripture is gaining momentum

In a recent article, I wrote about Bill C-9, the Liberal government’s proposed “speech control law” – a muzzling of Christian expression that Ebenezer Scrooge would be proud of. Since that time, there have been some significant developments that I want to share with you.

The most important and encouraging news is the enormous groundswell of public outrage over this draconian proposal. Not only have we garnered nearly 5,000 signatures on our petition to stop Bill C-9, but many prominent politicians, public figures, as well as clergy and public-interest groups are voicing their opposition in the strongest of terms.

The scientific case for the existence of intelligent alien life

The foundation of science is based on the humility to learn, not the arrogance of expertise. When comet experts argued that the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS must be a familiar water-rich comet as soon as it was discovered in July, they behaved like artificial intelligence systems: only able to reflect the data sets they were trained on. For decades, the data set that established comet expertise largely comprised icy rocks in the solar system. My counterpoint is simple: humanity launched technological objects into space, so we must conclude that alien life forms could do the same. This possibility must be added to the training data set of comet experts when studying interstellar objects.

The victim of this dramatic caught-on-video robbery speaks out: ‘These are not high level criminals — they’re kids’

Seated in a small booth tucked into the corner of a Mississauga grocery store, Orbit Money owner Sabir Syed was greeted by a steady stream of visitors on Sunday.

Many came not to exchange currency, but to check on him following the robbery that took place at his counter inside Iqbal Foods on Erin Mills Parkway near Burnhamthorpe Road West just one week earlier.

Kids sent by older criminals.
