Newly minted Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault says his agenda to combat climate change and bring down emissions from Alberta’s oilsands is not a secret.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney has said Guilbeault’s appointment Tuesday to the environment portfolio sends a “problematic message” to his province about Ottawa’s plans for the oil and gas sector.

Guilbeault is a former environmental activist from Quebec who has called the oilsands “dirty” and argued that pipelines and oil and gas expansion are not compatible with meeting Canada’s climate goals.

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Light from a high afternoon sun slanted through the tall windows of the weathered wooden church, catching on the plank floorboards and illuminating the stained glass. Outside, the arid ground of the northern New Mexico foothills stretched for miles — a picturesque setting for an Old West gun battle.

The actor Alec Baldwin, haggard in a white beard and period garb as he played a wounded character named Harlan Rust, sat in a pew, working out how he would draw a long-barreled Colt .45 revolver across his body and aim it toward the movie camera.

A crew readied the shot after adjusting the camera angle to account for the shadows. The camera wasn’t rolling yet, but director Joel Souza peered over the shoulder of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins to see what it saw.

When presidential candidate Joe Biden says, “You ain’t black” if you fail to vote for me, it’s the job of Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to affirm that sentiment. Once the social media apps affirm the belief, multimillionaire celebrities know what positions they should take.

This pattern, the paper’s authors argue, shows that “high-profile acts of police violence may severely impair civilian trust and crime-reporting.”

Parents Teaching or Government Indoctrination – You Choose

The discontent at school board meetings across America is hard to miss. It is showing up in the news and social media feeds that people are watching and reading in their homes. Many people, however, are missing the major driver of this discontent — the major transformation that the White House, National School Boards Association (NSBA) and others are trying to impose on our government schools.

The recent debate statements by Terry McAuliffe, the Democrats’ Virginia gubernatorial candidate, and actions by Attorney General Merrick Garland following a letter from the NSBA clearly signal they believe that government schools are a tool to be used to indoctrinate children. They also believe the force of the federal government should be used to back them up.

The extraordinary power of ‘Let’s Go Brandon’

I never wear clothes with logos on them. However, when I saw that I could buy a “Let’s Go Brandon” t-shirt for only $20, I couldn’t resist. Today, when I went to my local outlet mall and then to Costco, I wore that shirt. I live in the Southeast, in an area with a sizeable Black population and a lot of Democrats. Still, there are conservatives here so I expected some recognition for the shirt. What I didn’t expect was the happiness with which my shirt would be greeted.

A report from abroad: Knowledgeable British and Europeans not only do not think America is back, they think it has gone

After three weeks in Europe and extensive discussions with dozens of well-informed and highly placed individuals from most of the principal Western European countries, including leading members of the British government, I have the unpleasant duty of reporting complete incomprehension and incredulity at what Joe Biden and his collaborators encapsulate in the peppy but misleading phrase, “We’re back.”

As one eminent elected British government official put it, “They are not back in any conventional sense of that word. We have worked closely with the Americans for many decades and we have never seen such a shambles of incompetent administration, diplomatic incoherence, and complete military ineptitude as we have seen in these nine months. We were startled by Trump, but he clearly knew what he was doing, whatever we or anyone else thought about it. This is just a disintegration of the authority of a great nation for no apparent reason.”

Woke mob attacks BBC over publishing stories of lesbians ‘being pressured into sex by some trans women’

The BBC is facing a backlash over a story about lesbians being branded transphobic for refusing to have sex with trans women. It has received hundreds of complaints, and the author has been forced to delete her Twitter account.

The article, published on the BBC website on Tuesday, addressed the issue of some lesbians in Britain “increasingly being pressured and coerced” into accepting trans women as their partners.

Several lesbians talked to author Caroline Lowbridge, sharing stories of how they were shamed and even threatened for being only attracted to biological women and rejecting the idea that a penis could also be a female organ. One claimed that her refusal to have sex with trans women had led to her being branded transphobic, a genital fetishist, a pervert and a ‘terf’ – a ‘trans exclusionary radical feminist’.

9-year-old Hadar Kedem was playing with her father, brother, and family dog in a Portland city park when the gunmen came and the bullets began flying.

“They huddled up into this group and we thought they were going to do a race or something, but instead they pulled out guns and started shooting and then I got really scared,” the little girl told the Portland City Council. “There was a bullet that shot like four or five feet away from my right..”

I became afraid at the knowledge such people exist.
