December 22 (Toronto, ON) – A new national Liaison Strategies poll conducted over the weekend for the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada shows the Carney Liberals continuing to slide and now tied with the Conservatives at 38%. The Federal NDP stays steady at 12% nationally, and maintains 19% in British Columbia.
Conducted from December 19-21, 2025, using Interactive Voice Response (IVR), the survey polled 1,000 Canadians. The margin of error is ±3.09 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.

A city council has installed special barriers around the local Christmas market. Yet it’s strangely coy about why
Birmingham City Council has just made a very important announcement. To keep people safe while visiting the local Christmas market, it’s installed “Hostile Vehicle Mitigation” bollards. “These measures,” explained the council in a cheerful video for social media, “stop hostile vehicles from entering pedestrian areas, so you can enjoy the famous Frankfurt Christmas Market with confidence.”
Good to hear. All the same, I do find one aspect of this statement surprising.
I didn’t know vehicles could be hostile.

Regina’s adoption of electric buses has been a disaster for the public. It’s the latest Canadian city to find this out the hard way.
The news slipped out during Regina city council’s Monday budget hearing, when transit union president Sukhwinder Singh was asked whether electric buses have impacted costs.

Alright, here’s the real year-end vibe.
It’s December. The roads are a mess, daylight disappears at four in the afternoon, and everybody’s running on a mix of caffeine, stress, and Christmas to-do lists. And if you’ve felt like this year has been heavier than it should have been, you’re not imagining it.
The theme of 2025 was “Pressure.”

Yes, so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion is on life support. President Trump’s executive orders have driven a stake through the heart of DEI programs in the federal government, and his agencies are steadily bringing universities, states, and cities to heel.
But woke policymakers are not giving up. A new tool is emerging to steer benefits and spending toward favored racial groups in the name of “equity.” The new tool is geography.

‘THERE is a revolution coming. It will not be like the revolutions of the past. It will originate with the individual and with culture and will change the political structure only as its final act. It will not require violence to succeed, and it cannot be successfully resisted by violence. This is the revolution of the new generation.’ — Charles Reich, The Greening of America, 1970.

BRITISH COLUMBIA — It begins, as so many Vancouver real estate stories do, with a fortune that defies the logic of lawful wealth creation—too sudden, too large, too well-traveled, and too entangled with the machinery of China’s one-party state to feel like ordinary success—and hints at the familial web that would later unravel across the Pacific, after duffle bags of Chinese currency were converted into Canadian dollars to fund condo developments in Vancouver.

Brits are demanding liberation from our post-borders elites.
Imagine going back in time and trying to explain to an everyday Brit that it will one day be a risky business to fly the flag of Britain in Britain. Imagine telling the joyous crowds who waved mini Union flags for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977 that their grandchildren would be branded ‘fascists’ for waving that very flag in 2025. Imagine telling those swooning gatherings at Portsmouth and Southampton in 1982 – who gleefully displayed the flag to welcome home British troops from the Falklands – that Brits in the 2020s would be damned as ‘far right’ for doing likewise.

A former university football player who sexually assaulted two women has been sentenced to just two years in prison because he is black and was feeling intense pressure around the time of the attacks, the judge said.
Omogbolahan Jegede, 25, had choked one of the women almost into unconsciousness.

CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss has offered more insight about her last-minute decision to shelve a segment on the ‘brutal and tortuous conditions’ at a prison in El Salvador where the Trump administration has deported illegal immigrants.
Weiss, 41, told colleagues that she spiked the segment simply because it ‘did not advance the ball’ during the network’s typical 9am editorial call on Monday, The New York Times reported.
She pointed out how the the Times and other publications have ‘previously done similar work’ while maintaining that fresh, through-provoking content was her ‘north star.’

Mourners turned on the chancellor, blaming his continued support for mass migration for the security failures that led to the deadly attack.
Friedrich Merz’s attendance over the weekend at a memorial service commemorating last year’s attack on the Magdeburg Christmas market was not greatly welcomed by attendees. Instead, the chancellor was met with loud protests—some telling him “we don’t want you here,” crying “shame on you,” and urging him to “get lost.”
Six people were killed and hundreds of others injured—some critically—when a Saudi psychiatrist and refugee named Taleb al-Abdulmohsen, who was known to German police, drove a car into a crowded Magdeburg Christmas market during the city’s 2024 festivities.

In just one month, Food Banks Canada reported nearly 2.2 million visits across the country, which they say is the highest number recorded in history.
This data was recorded from March this year, doubling the monthly usage of food banks in Canada six years earlier.
This troubling number makes you wonder — why the huge spike?

OTTAWA – Prime Minister Mark Carney is appointing a global investment banker and pension fund manager to be Canada’s next ambassador in Washington.
Carney’s office says Mark Wiseman will take the role on Feb. 15, and he will be tasked with leading negotiations with the United States on the review of the continental free trade deal.
Wiseman is a longtime friend of Carney who was among the first to contribute to Carney’s leadership bid, donating the maximum $1,750 to that as well as an additional $1,750 to the Liberal party during last April’s election campaign.
I hope Trump’s team kicks his ass.
