Could self-driving cars threaten our humanity?

We shouldn’t always trade risk for safety

There is a trope in science fiction movies in which some alien or machine intelligence determines that humans are a scourge, and that in order to protect the galaxy, humanity must be eradicated. There is no shortage of examples, but some personal favorites include The Day the Earth Stood Still, Alien and Planet of the Apes. And who could forget the T-800’s grim prognostication in Terminator 2 that ‘it’s in your nature to destroy yourselves’?

Back in the real world, we aren’t quite at the point of developing an artificially intelligent Skynet that will take control of our nukes and bring about our collective demise. But a Vox piece from last week leaves me concerned that we’re headed in the wrong direction.

Genocide, slavery, and rape: Let’s remember the atrocities of indigenous peoples

The history of humanity is a horrifying tale, filled with every evil one could possibly imagine. Most of human history is poverty, tyranny, and violence — centuries of unbelievable suffering. Today is the rare exception.

For whatever reason, humans have always had the innate thirst to conquer one another. This has been the case for all civilizations throughout history. But today’s leftists want to revise history to fit their agenda. They act as if history began in 1492 and focus solely on incidents in which white people are portrayed as aggressors. They constantly reference slavery but ignore the fact that black people owned slaves in the United States or that the slave trade began in Africa. It’s why you were never taught about the many instances in history in which people of color massacred each other.

Mosques in Cologne will broadcast call to prayer every Friday: Experts warn ‘this is not about religious diversity… this is a show of power’

Mosques in Cologne, including Germany’s largest, will be permitted to broadcast the call to prayer over loudspeakers every Friday afternoon.

The news comes after an agreement was made between the city of Cologne and the Muslim community to ease restrictions, which the city’s mayor announced Monday.

However, the decision has prompted a backlash from some corners of Germany, with one expert contradicting the mayor’s claim the initiative was about diversity, instead calling the call to prayer ‘a show of power.’

State of the Nation: The Explosive Growth of Concealed-Carry Permits

If you are a conservative you undoubtedly have one or more friends who don’t just own guns, but love guns, live guns, and breathe guns. Driving to the store this morning I was behind a minivan that had replaced the traditional stick-family decal with one showing all the guns he or she owns. Now, if you are a progressive you probably know someone who owns at least one gun. Actually, you probably know several people. They just haven’t gotten up the courage to tell you yet.

US schools gave kids laptops during the pandemic. Then they spied on them

When the pandemic started last year, countless forms of inequality were exposed – including the millions of American families who don’t have access to laptops or broadband internet. After some delays, schools across the country jumped into action and distributed technology to allow students to learn remotely. The catch? They ended up spying on students. “For their own good”, of course.

Drugs, arms, and terror: A high-profile defector on Kim’s North Korea

The old habits of secrecy haven’t left Kim Kuk-song.

It has taken weeks of discussions to get an interview with him, and he’s still worried about who might be listening. He wears dark glasses for the camera, and only two of our team know what we think is his real name.

Mr Kim spent 30 years working his way to the top ranks of North Korea’s powerful spy agencies. The agencies were the “eyes, ears, and brains of the Supreme Leader”, he says.

He claims he kept their secrets, sent assassins to kill their critics, and even built an illegal drugs-lab to help raise “revolutionary” funds.

Joe Biden’s Vaccine Mandate Doesn’t Exist. It’s Just A Press Release.

Americans are no longer living under representative government. We are living under government by the screen people, of the screen people, for the screen people.

The further we get into this, the more bizarre it becomes. People are losing their jobs for non-compliance to a non-existent law, the government and drug makers are immune from responsibility for harm done by the “vaccines”, and the “vaccines” don’t prevent infection or transmission, per the CDC.

What Does Joe Biden’s Health Have to Do with the Future of Taiwan?

What is China planning? More than 150 air incursions into Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone, testing Taiwanese response capabilities, strategies, timing and other military capabilities. Are these just Chinese war games or is China getting close to invading Taiwan? These are just some of the many questions that U.S. and other world leaders are grappling with as they try to determine the plans and intentions of China’s President Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party.

Understanding “leadership intent” is one of the key priorities for intelligence collection and analysis. It is safe to assume America’s intelligence agencies are doing this with China and the Chinese are doing the same with the U.S. So, what does that have to do with U.S. President Joe Biden’s health and communist China’s intentions when it comes to Taiwan?

New vaccine mandate may leave thousands of City of Toronto workers unemployed

Unemployed by Christmas is the future thousands of City of Toronto workers could be facing if they remain unvaccinated for much longer.

A few weeks ago I wrote about the worker shortage that unvaccinated employees would create. The wheels are now in motion.

Civil servants are rarely “fired” in Canada, expect no permanent job losses.
