Because it’s not 2015: Why Carney’s pro-oil turn isn’t turning off Canadians

Timing is everything.

The Liberals won a series of elections under Justin Trudeau in part by promising to significantly lower carbon emissions, and offering a more credible plan than their Conservative opponents. That plan, headlined by consumer carbon pricing, helped boost support for the Liberals and drain support from the Conservatives, particularly among swing voters in suburban Canada, in federal elections in 2015, 2019 and 2021. Carbon pricing was, at least in theory, quite popular.

Carney is a liar and has left the pipeline’s fate in the hands of the usual suspects Natives and Green-Nutters.

Why I pity the liberals being mugged by reality

What a mess. This little phrase seems unequal to the task of describing the situation Britain finds itself in after decades of multiculturalism and liberalism.

In a – perhaps surprising – spirit of compassion and generosity, I find myself feeling for some of the liberals who are now regularly being mugged at scale by reality. There is very little time to draw breath nowadays, to reset and forget, between what are still described as ‘incidents’. The Bondi Beach massacre followed on from the news of the two Afghan asylum seekers jailed for raping a girl of 15, which followed the news of the migrant hotel worker stabbed to death with a screwdriver, which followed the attack on a Manchester synagogue … all set against the continual background rumble of the rape gangs.

Jen Gerson: Read this to understand what Donald Trump really has planned

If there’s one conclusion we can draw from the recently released National Security Strategy put out by the Trump administration, it’s that the current crop of Americans in power really do feel like victims of the world that America created.

In that strategy, the White House outlined the Trump administration’s priorities, outlooks and hoped for direction. While it’s common for U.S. presidencies to release high-level documents of this kind, this year’s version is, to put it mildly, a serious vibe check. Taken in toto, the strategy is a rationale for America to withdraw its support for the world order as we know it, and instead take a role that is overtly transactional and self interested. This is an America that sees global leadership not as being a chief among equals, but rather one in which the top dog barks while the rest of us are expected to roll over. One in which American strength and wealth are not built by mutual alliances, but rather through zero-sum infighting.

This is stated quite explicitly in the document, which I implore every Canadian to read fully and understand.

The Star has a surplus of hysterical types.

The shock that after 80 years America isn’t going to pay everyone’s way is just too much to handle.

Spain Without Spaniards: The Unprecedented Decline of the National Population

Spain keeps breaking population records, quarter after quarter. As of October 1, 2025, the country had 49,442,844 residents, according to the Continuous Population Statistics of the National Statistics Institute (INE). On paper, Spain is thriving with nearly half a million more people in a year and over 100,000 added in just three months.

Spain grows, yet Spaniards fade. Behind the headline figure lies a demographic paradox. The expansion is driven by immigration. Foreign-born residents now exceed 9.8 million, close to one-fifth of the total population. Meanwhile, the number of people born in Spain continues to shrink, dragged down by a decade-long negative natural balance. Births can no longer compensate for deaths and have not since 2017.

The Bondi Beach Massacre Was a Choice – Australia let this evil come and fester here.

They gathered to celebrate Hannukah, the Jewish festival of light—a family event in a park by the beach on a Sunday.

The exact details of what occurred remain murky. What’s known is that two men, Naveed Akram and his father Sajid Akram, took out guns and began shooting at the Jewish families. At least 15 are dead, and 42 have been hospitalized.

Just like Canada.

Australia’s Government: ‘Moral Bankruptcy on Parade’

On December 14, on the holiday of Hanukkah — a time of celebration — a slaughter of innocent Jewish families took place at Australia’s famous Bondi Beach, in Sydney. Fifteen victims were murdered and 40 more wounded. One of the attackers, a Muslim immigrant named Sajid Akram, was killed by police; his son Naveed, the second attacker, was shot by police before being arrested.

The situation could have been worse but for the actions of Sydney’s police force and the quick work of a very brave unarmed bystander, Ahmed El-Ahmed, a Muslim man who tackled and disarmed one of the terrorists.

Despite more rental units being available, many Canadians struggle with unaffordable rent

Canadians spend between 35 and 50 per cent of their monthly income on housing and utilities, according to the government of Canada. For many, keeping up with the bills is not easy.

Ali Jafri’s rent is due on Monday, and he’s not sure he will be able to pay it.

“(The) 15th of the month is just a few days away and I am in a difficult spot right now,” the Toronto father told CTV News. Jafri has a job, a child and lives in a tight-knit community in downtown Toronto, but with the cost of living stubbornly high, he says he’s being squeezed.

Ali is part of the problem but our media love to add insult to injury.

ANTI-NEWS: ABC News Omits Radical Left-Wing Motives Behind Foiled New Year’s Eve Terror Plot

Federal law enforcement quickly and expeditiously dismantled an ongoing terror plot that would have wreaked chaos and destruction across Southern California, had it been allowed to go undetected. Viewers of ABC’s World News Tonight might have been left wondering whether there was even a plot to begin with, based on a complete lack of reporting as to motive.

LILLEY: Surging food prices highlight Canadians’ cost-of-living concerns

The cost of living is worse than it’s ever been: That’s the view of 67% of Canadians, according to an Abacus Data poll.

The news from Statistics Canada on Monday morning won’t help with that feeling as grocery prices spiked yet again just before Christmas.

The latest inflation report from StatsCan shows core inflation rose 2.2% in November; food inflation, though, rose 4.7% for what we pay stores as opposed to restaurants.
