‘My advice actually would be don’t go’: Expert warns Canadians about U.S. travel risks

A growing number of Canadians, including several young children, have been arrested or detained by U.S. immigration authorities over the past two years, according to newly released government data obtained through a U.S. federal court case.

The figures, analyzed by CTVNews.ca using data tools developed by the Deportation Data Project, were released as part of a lawsuit the project filed against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The data show that more than 200 Canadians have spent time in ICE custody at some point since January, compared with 137 detained in 2024. While the increase accelerated this year, the records show Canadian detentions dating back to before U.S. President Donald Trump began his second term.

Poilievre won’t rule out whether more Conservative MPs will cross floor to Liberals

Less than one week after the Conservatives lost another MP to the Liberals, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre won’t explicitly rule out whether more of his caucus members will cross the floor.

“I think Canadians have a reasonable expectation that when you run on a platform to bring down the cost of living, to control spending, to lock up criminals, that you shouldn’t then go and join the party. That’s doing precisely the opposite,” Poilievre said in a year-end interview with CTV News Chief Political Correspondent Vassy Kapelos, when asked directly about that possibility.

“We have to stop Antifa violence before it metastasizes”—U.S. Under Secretary of State Thomas G. DiNanno

On December 12th, the Department of State said it is offering a reward of up to $10 million “for information leading to the disruption of the financial mechanisms of four European-based groups designated by the U.S. government as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs).”

The press release announcing the move was issued in Hungarian and English by the American embassy in Budapest. Not coincidentally, Thomas G. DiNanno, Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, was in Hungary that day for what was his first official visit abroad since he took office in October.

For the first time in a decade, Canada’s War Crimes Program shares what it has been up to

Atrocities in Sudan, Gaza and Ukraine raise a question: do Canadians have a role in addressing the suffering of others?

While these wars can appear to affect only distant strangers, their horrors increase the chances that victims – and perpetrators – will seek to enter Canada. It’s unsurprising, then, that Canadian authorities are busier than ever in identifying suspected perpetrators of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. Yet Canada continues to deport perpetrators without any guarantee they’ll be subsequently held accountable.

No imminent threat of attack in Canada following Australia shooting except by Pixel Hitler: CSIS

OTTAWA – The Canadian Security Intelligence Service says it sees no indication of a specific threat in Canada following the mass shooting at a Hanukkah celebration in Australia.

However an intelligence brief prepared by the Integrated Threat Assessment Centre of CSIS says there is a “realistic” possibility of a violent extremist attack taking place in Canada — including one targeting the Jewish community.

It also says it can’t discount the possibility of violence from a lone actor or small group, which could happen with little or no warning.

In other words diversity generates so many possible attacks it makes predictions impossible.

Google AI: What was the official Australian terrorism threat level a day before the Dec 14th 2025 Bondi Beach attack?

On December 13, 2025, the day before the Bondi Beach attack, the official Australian National Terrorism Threat Level was PROBABLE.

Definition: A “Probable” level indicates that authorities believe there is a greater than 50% chance of an onshore terrorist attack or attack planning within the next 12 months.

Killing is central to the Muslim cult whether throwing gays off rooftops, stoning adulterers to death, beheading infidels etc. a willingness to commit extreme violence is expected and in fact celebrated by Mohammedans as we have witnessed on the streets of cities worldwide.

It’s just not possible to prevent all of the Muslims all of the time from carrying out their religious obligation to murder.

Remigration is the answer.

New whistleblower undermines accusations against official Jan. 6 pipe bomb suspect, Rep. Thomas Massie says

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky revealed alleged details about the suspect arrested for the Jan. 6 pipe bomb plantings in Washington, D.C., that might undermine the official narrative of the incident.

The mystery of the pipe bombs seemed to be solved on Dec. 4, nearly five years after they were found, when Justice Department officials announced that they had arrested 30-year-old Brian Cole Jr. of Woodbridge, Virginia.

Canadian delegation, including 6 MPs, denied entry into West Bank over alleged link to Israel-designated ‘terror entity’

OTTAWA—The Israeli embassy in Ottawa says a group that included six Canadian MPs was denied entry into the occupied West Bank on Tuesday because of an alleged financial link to an aid organization Israel considers a “terror entity.”

In a statement to the Star, Israeli embassy spokesperson Yifah Mivtach Greenvald said the group that organized the trip — Canadian Muslim Vote — receives the “vast majority” of its funding from Islamic Relief Canada, which Greenvald said is a subsidiary of Islamic Relief Worldwide, a listed terror entity in Israel.

Canada has not designated the group on its own terror list.

What we know about the Bondi gunmen

Two gunmen – identified by authorities as a father and son – opened fire on hundreds of people marking a Hanukkah event on Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Sunday, killing 15 and leaving 27 in hospital with injuries.

The father was killed in an exchange of fire with police at the scene while the son is in hospital with critical injuries.

Among the victims of the country’s worst mass shooting in decades, which targeted Jewish people and is being treated as a terrorist incident, are a 10-year-old girl, a Holocaust survivor and two rabbis.

The attackers are both said to have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group. Here is what we know about them.

JÄGER: Canada’s public transportation is a national embarrassment

Canada is, by nearly all measures, a developed nation. I say nearly because trying to get anywhere in this great land without a car is a humiliation ritual — a stark reminder that when it comes to transportation infrastructure, we have unequivocally failed to live up to expectations.

The same country that managed to construct a railway from coast to coast in record time — in the nineteenth century no less — now struggles to move past the concept stage on anything but the simplest of projects. Barriers are no longer towering mountains or raging rivers, but bureaucracy and refusal to dream big.

‘He’s a good boy’: Mother of alleged Bondi shooter says she believes he is innocent

Verena Akram, the mother of 24-year-old suspected Bondi gunman Naveed Akram, said she didn’t believe her son could be involved in the attack on Sydney’s Jewish community on Sunday, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

“He doesn’t have a firearm. He doesn’t even go out. He doesn’t mix around with friends. He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t smoke, he doesn’t go to bad places … he goes to work, he comes home, he goes to exercise and that’s it,” she claimed.

As Average Home Prices Slide in Canada’s Major Cities, How Far Off Is the Next Boom?

Canadian real estate prices in several major urban centres have declined considerably since 2022, when they soared to record highs during the pandemic. As home prices continue falling in major markets across the country, the question now is whether–or when—the bidding-war era of rising home prices will return.

Average home prices in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) are down over 20 percent since 2022, and down around 11 percent below the 2022 peak in the Greater Vancouver Area. Meanwhile, forced sales have risen sharply in Ontario in the last six months. Some experts say it could be the early 2030s before the 2022 peaks are seen again.
