Germany on high alert to protect Christmas markets from terrorism

Under a rainbow-lit dome, hundreds of people gathered to drink pink glühwein and watch Jacky-Oh Weinhaus, a celebrity drag queen, at the opening week of Berlin’s LGBT Christmas market.

“This is an adult market,” said one of the security guards at the entrance, solemnly. “I have a duty to tell you your children may see pictures of penises and things of that nature.”

Until three years ago, the Christmas Avenue festival was held out in the open on Nollendorfplatz, the heart of the gay district, immortalised nearly a century ago by the Berlin novels of Christopher Isherwood.

Poilievre’s Support Among Tories at Level Seen When He Became Leader

Tory Leader Pierre Poilievre has the support of the majority of Conservative voters, a new poll suggests, as he approaches a leadership review in early 2026.

According to Nov. 30 polling from Abacus Data, 66 percent of Conservative voters say they would vote to keep Poilievre as leader, while 22 percent would vote to replace him, and the remainder were unsure. Among decided Conservative voters, 75 percent would vote to keep Poilievre at the helm.

Alberta energy deal was ‘the last straw,’ says Guilbeault after cabinet resignation

Canada will not be able to achieve the climate change targets it has set given recent decisions by Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government, warns former Liberal minister Steven Guilbeault.

Speaking on Radio-Canada’s Tout le monde en parle, Guilbeault said recent decisions by Carney’s government, such as last week’s memorandum of understanding with Alberta, will make reaching the targets impossible.

“Prime Minister Carney has a different view from mine on this,” he said during the show which aired Sunday evening.

So long eco-wanker!

Eby says he’s open to new pipeline — so long as it doesn’t go anywhere

For months, BC Premier David Eby reacted to the mere mention of a pipeline from Alberta to British Columbia’s coast with a passionate tirade that inevitably ended with a declaration that such a project would never happen.

Those words fell on many a deaf ear in Alberta and Ottawa, where Premier Danielle Smith and Prime Minister Mark Carney were busy working out an agreement sans Eby. On Friday, their efforts culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding that outlined the conditions for a new pipeline.

Claims Afghans Were ‘Vetted’ Contradict Federal Investigations And Common Sense

On Friday President Donald Trump announced his administration would pause asylum processes and stop issuing visas to Afghans in response to the shooting of two National Guardsmen, one of whom later died. It was an Afghan national, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, admitted into the United States through a Biden-era program, who allegedly shot and killed Specialist Sarah Beckstrom and critically injured Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe.

Of course, the propaganda press insisted this was an isolated tragedy and certainly not evidence of a failed system.

AI hoax broadcast and a chilling glimpse of the deepfake future

I REGULARLY watch the excellent conservative commentator Victor Davis Hanson (VDH) on YouTube. Last Sunday, November 23, I clicked on what I assumed was his channel and watched what appeared to be his latest video. It covered the case of Mark Kelly, the Democratic Senator from Arizona and retired military officer who has recently been accused of sedition.

Everything seemed normal. The video looked and sounded exactly like VDH – the cadence, the tone, the presentation style. But after several minutes, I began to suspect something was seriously wrong.

HUNTER: Gun-toting Trudeau Tourist atop extortion racket given bail

Somewhere in the sewer that is the Canadian justice system, someone thought it a grand idea to spring Trudeau Tourist Bandhumaan Sekhon.

That he was the recipient of the largesse at a Peel Region courthouse should come as no surprise. The region northwest of Toronto has become the favoured dumping ground for a small army of woke, wildly unqualified judges.

We didn’t listen to Churchill

Two West Virginia National Guardsmen were shot just before Thanksgiving Day (allegedly) by an Afghan terrorist immigrant. While one has died and the other remains in critical condition, the question remains why they were shot. The answer may well have been given to us 126 years earlier by a young Winston Churchill.

Before 3:00 pm on November 26th, three Guard members were on foot patrol, blocks away from the White House. Suddenly, without warning, the suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, jumped from behind a corner. Armed with a revolver, he first began shooting at Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20.

Why this corruption scandal is a disaster for Zelensky

Volodymyr Zelensky cuts almost as lonely a figure today as he did on the first day after the Russian invasion nearly four years ago, when he vowed not to leave the country, but to fight. But there is a big difference. Then, Ukrainians rallied to the cause, rushing to join combat units, showing enormous resilience and social solidarity. Now, Russia’s military advance in the east is accelerating, Ukrainians are deserting or avoiding mobilisation and a big corruption scandal has deprived Zelensky of his hitherto most loyal lieutenants.

Shamed Andrew is formally stripped of his last remaining royal titles as his eviction from the Royal Lodge in Windsor is delayed until early next year

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has today been officially stripped of his last royal titles by his brother – making him a commoner.

The former Duke of York had his membership of the Order of the Garter formally cancelled by King Charles III at Midday on Monday.

It is the oldest British Order of Chivalry, founded by King Edward III in 1348. Andrew’s coat of arms has already been removed from St George’s Chapel, Windsor, where his parents, the Queen and Prince Philip, are buried.

Europe’s Growing ‘Honour Killing’ Problem

Last May, two brothers allegedly bound their 18-year-old sister in packing tape, gagged her, and drowned her in a swamp. This was an honour killing, motivated by what the girl’s brothers saw as her ‘westernisation.’ During the trial last week, WhatsApp messages revealed that the family’s main grievances were the fact that she had refused an arranged marriage, had a boyfriend, and had stopped wearing a headscarf. “There is no other solution,” one of the brothers wrote in a message. The girl’s own mother said that she was “a disgrace to the family and deserves to die” and should be “wrapped in a shroud.” In a secretly recorded conversation, one brother said he believed the family had been humiliated by the girl’s behaviour, and the only way out was her death.
