A Twitter Thread on Lockdowns Paints a Dismal Picture for Post-COVID-19 Recovery

On Twitter, author and attorney Michael P. Senger put together a well-sourced thread on the consequences of lockdowns. To be transparent, he is openly anti-lockdown and believes the lockdowns are a consequence of Chinese Communist Party propaganda to harm other nations. While the intentions of the CCP are debatable, the China threat to the United States and the West generally is not. Recently this was confirmed in a speech from a Chinese professor of economics and an editorial from America’s Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe.

First, even if the virus was not designed as a bioweapon, the CCP used it like one.

Dominion Voting Systems uses SolarWinds software, according to a Dominion web page.

SolarWinds does not list Dominion on its partial customer listing but says its products and services are used by more than 300,000 customers around the world, including all five branches of the U.S. military and more than 425 of the U.S. Fortune 500.

The rolling seven-day average of new infections now stands at 1,841, up from 1,820 last Monday.

A few weeks ago, British philosophers Ian James Kidd and Matthew Ratcliffe wrote about “Covidworld, our new altered reality where accepted norms do not apply.” They note how the entire planet is captivated by COVID-19 as the one and only issue of importance. And they describe the “enormous and wide-ranging collateral damage caused by lockdowns and other measures.” Like many critics of the ongoing tunnel vision on SARS-CoV-2, I am concerned about the lack of proportion in our collective response and allege that this response is not backed by the facts about the pandemic.

Justin Trudeau was asked about Montreal’s Pornhub months ago. Now Ottawa is scrambling to find answers

A working group of MPs and senators looking at ways to combat human trafficking sent a letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in March outlining concerns it had about videos being posted on Pornhub, the popular pornography website based in Montreal, and calling on the government to act.

In November the group wrote to federal Justice Minister David Lametti, making the same case.

Both letters went unanswered.

Gmail, YouTube and other Google productivity services suffered a massive outage Monday morning.

Thousands of users around the world had reported problems with Gmail and YouTube by about 7:20 a.m., according to outage-tracking website Downdetector.

Other Google Workspace services such as Google Calendar, Google Drive and the Google Meet videoconferencing tool were also inaccessible at the start of the workweek, according to Google’s public status dashboard.

The Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations [CAIR] plans to hold Sunday evening a virtual “vote-a-thon” aimed at encouraging Georgia Muslims to vote in the Jan. 5 run-off elections, an event featuring the Democratic congresswomen as well as Ms. Sarsour.

All three have expressed support for the anti-Israel Boycott, Sanctions and Divestment cause, and all three have been embroiled in recent years in headline-grabbing anti-Semitism controversies. All three deny being anti-Semitic or anti-Jewish.

The Seattle City Council said the proposal, crafted with input from local public defenders, would excuse suspects from minor crimes like theft, trespassing, or assault — but not in cases of domestic violence or driving while impaired, KUOW-TV reported.

“In a situation where you took that sandwich because you were hungry and you were trying to meet your basic need of satisfying your hunger, we as a community will know that we should not punish that,” Anita Khandelwal, King County director of public defense, told the station. “That conduct is excused.”

Kremlin-backed hackers breach US Treasury and Commerce: Report

A “sophisticated hacking group” backed by the Russian government reportedly infiltrated the Department of Treasury’s systems and stole information related to internet and telecommunications policymaking as part of a broader campaign that also hacked the Commerce Department and other government agencies.

The FBI is investigating the attacks and is looking into the Russian hacking group APT29, also known as Cozy Bear, as a potential culprit, according to the Washington Post. The foreign-backed hack was first reported by Reuters.

As a result of the hack, the National Security Council held a meeting at the White House on Sunday.

The new rankings are driven in large part by countries in the Sahel, which is facing the fastest growing jihadist insurgency on Earth

Sub-Saharan Africa is now home to some of the world’s worst terrorism hotspots, according to a new index released today.

Seven African countries are among the top 10 nations facing the greatest terrorism threat, according to a ranking of 198 countries released by Verisk Maplecroft, a global risk consultancy, making the continent the worst performing region globally.

With the index’s worst possible score of 0 out of 10, Burkina Faso, Mali and Somalia rank alongside Syria and Afghanistan for the highest risk.

Cameroon, Mozambique, Niger and the Democratic Republic of Congo, all facing sustained violence from various jihadist groups allied to Al Qaeda or Islamic State, also rank among the worst affected countries in the world.
