Bank of Canada will regulate a Canadian ‘stablecoin.’ But just how stable will it be?

Canada is moving with what could be called urgent caution as stablecoin goes mainstream.

Stablecoin is a type of cryptocurrency, or digital dollar, which has stability as perhaps its greatest asset. Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies are notoriously volatile.

Stablecoin, by contrast, is backed by real assets — cash or high-quality liquid assets — and is pegged one-to-one to a currency or commodity, often the U.S. dollar, the world’s reserve currency.

It will be just stable enough for the Laurentian elites to profit handsomely before it crashes and the tax payers are left holding the bag.

Iran Is Building a Missile Empire, the World Looks Away

Little attention is being paid to Iran in the aftermath of the 12‑Day War, but the threat it now poses is growing significantly. While global focus has shifted to other crises, Iran has rapidly and aggressively been accelerating its ballistic missile production at the speed of light. The Iranian regime is proudly announcing its manufacture of vast quantities of missiles, expanding assembly lines, and is openly boasting about its growing arsenal. Iran is not concealing these developments; it is bragging about them. The regime, despite a crippling drought, appears to feel emboldened, empowered, and determined.

“I’ve had people use salty language with me before, I don’t get too upset about it,” he added. “I don’t say anything back, as I say, my mom taught me better.”

‘Lost Canadians’ legislation is now law, aims to fix citizenship rule

The “Lost Canadians” legislation, which aims to fix Canada’s unconstitutional citizenship, received royal assent Thursday after being approved by the Senate on Wednesday.

The term “Lost Canadians” refers to people who were born outside of the country to Canadian parents who were also born in another country.

In 2009, the Conservative federal government changed the law so that Canadians born abroad could only pass down their citizenship if their child was born in Canada.

State Dept.: Mass Migration an ‘Existential Threat‘ to Western Civilization

The United States government has warned that mass migration represents an “existential threat” to Western civilization and has warned Europe against the continuing open borders policies and the creation of two-tier justice systems that favour foreigners over native populations.

In a shot across the bow against the open borders ideology that has taken hold in the halls of power in many Western European capitals, the U.S. State Department urged its allies “to take bold action and defend citizens against the threats posed by mass migration.”

Canada joins Europe rejecting Trump’s Ukraine plan, Anand says sovereignty is key

JOHANNESBURG – The world’s most influential nations gathered in South Africa to work around Washington’s disruptive foreign policy Saturday, reaching consensus on issues like climate change and gender equality while pushing back on a Ukraine deal that western allies deemed insufficient.

For Canada, disruptive geopolitics led to a technology pact with India, a recent foe, along with a cut to Ottawa’s funding for global health and talks with countries grappling with American and Chinese trade coercion.

“It is a great day for multilateralism,” Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand told reporters in Johannesburg.

IDF soldiers are doing speaking events in Canada. Some say they shouldn’t be here

Violence at a Toronto speaking event has sparked calls for more scrutiny on Israeli soldiers entering Canada, with some saying they should be barred entry or investigated for potential participation in war crimes related to the Israel-Hamas war.

Police arrested and charged six protesters after an event organized by a Toronto Metropolitan University student group Students Supporting Israel (SSI) this month that featured Israel Defence Forces (IDF) soldiers as speakers.

While SSI blamed protesters for a chaotic scene that included screaming and a broken glass door – protesters can be seen on video banging on the venue’s front doors as they are being held off by police — clips shared by Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) Toronto show one of the IDF soldiers grabbing and shoving protesters.
