Sad news.

Our longtime reader Dave Sanderson has passed away.

You may recall he was hospitalized last month due to a wonky heart.

Dave was an active friend to this blog, contributing not just his comments but numerous story tips over the years.

I consider Dave a friend even though we never met in real life.

I will miss his sense of humour, his insight and Dave just being Dave.

Over the years a number of friends of this blog have passed away.

I remind myself that we are blessed by such constant friends as Dave.

His obit may be viewed here, thanks to JF for bringing it to my attention.

Godspeed DS.

Portland PD Basically Tells Conservative Journalists Attacked by Antifa, ‘Your Skirt Was Too Short’

In late September, President Donald Trump ordered the Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to deploy National Guard troops to Portland to protect the Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in the city. This ICE facility and its employees have been under siege, suffering a years-long campaign of violence by Antifa and other left-wing radical groups, and the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) has done little to quell the rabid unrest or to arrest and prosecute those facilitating it. However, PPB will allow conservative independent journalists who have documented this violence to be harassed, assaulted, and even arrested.

Once a haven for snowbirds, Arizona sees fewer Canadians settling in for the season

Canadians do not appear to be getting over it.

When President Donald Trump returned to office with tariffs and declarations of Canada as the 51st state, snowbirds turned tail across the U.S. That was spring, an easy time to head back north.

Now, however, as fall colours signal winter’s imminent arrival, new data show little sign of Canadians flocking back to the sunny south for the cold months.

‘I was called an enemy of the people’: how the US Senate went to war with the biggest rock stars of the 1980s

‘I was called an enemy of the people’: how the US Senate went to war with the biggest rock stars of the 1980s Forty years ago Prince, Madonna and Judas Priest were among stars dubbed the ‘Filthy Fifteen’ in a high-profile parents’ campaign against ‘objectionable’ music. Some of those artists, and supporters like Alice Cooper, recall a major moral panic

Prince’s Purple Rain album had been bought by 11 million Americans by May 1985. One of them was 11-year-old Karenna Gore. Back home, Karenna’s mother was shocked to hear Prince sing, on the album’s fifth track Darling Nikki: “I knew a girl named Nikki / I guess you could say she was a sex fiend / I met her in a hotel lobby/ masturbating with a magazine.”

“I couldn’t believe my ears,” said Karenna’s mother, Tipper Gore. “The vulgar lyrics embarrassed both of us. At first, I was stunned – then I got mad!”

Conservatives call on Carney to ‘immediately’ scrap ‘Liberal bail’ and vote on motion to pass the Jail Not Bail Act

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre has posted a letter on social media asking the federal government to “immediately” scrap “Liberal bail” and is urging the Prime Minister Mark Carney to vote for a Conservative motion that will rapidly pass the Jail Not Bail Act.

“C-242 (Jail Not Bail Act) repeals the failed Liberal ‘principle of restraint,’ strengthens bail for major violent and organized crimes like extortion and home invasion, requires judges to consider an accused’s criminal history and stops prolific offenders from vouching for other criminals,” the letter addressed to Carney said.

How the SPLC Targets Catholics and Other Christians

The SPLC does not prevent hate but directs it, mostly toward Christians for promoting the teachings of Christ.

Under President Donald Trump, the FBI recently made the decision to sever ties with the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a self-described anti-hate group that has long placed mainstream conservative and Christian organizations and institutions on a par with groups like the Ku Klux Klan. “The Southern Poverty Law Center long ago abandoned civil rights work and turned into a partisan smear machine,” FBI Director Kash Patel told The Daily Signal. “Their so-called hate map has been used to defame mainstream Americans and even inspired violence,” he added, referring to a 2012 attack on Family Research Council’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. “That disgraceful record makes them unfit for any FBI partnership.”

The SPLC, ADL, Hope Not Hate, The Institute For Strategic Dialogue, Antihate.ca are all cut from the same cloth.

Far-Left extremists who profit by providing their exclusively ‘right-wing’ enemies lists to their political allies. Enemies often coincidentally shared with the likes of CAIR and Antifa.

Noem: Anarchists Put $10K Bounty on Killing ICE Officers

Anti-American leftist anarchists are doxing, stalking, and targeting federal agents in coordinated plots across major U.S. cities, with some groups offering thousands of dollars to kidnap or kill them, according to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

“So our intelligence indicates that these people are organized,” Noem warned in a Sunday morning TV interview. “They’re getting more and more people on their team, as far as attacking officers, and they’re making plans to ambush them and to kill them.

Conservatives won’t support Liberal border bill without major changes: Pierre Poilievre

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says the federal Liberals must either heavily amend their border bill or introduce a new piece of proposed legislation if they want support to pass it into law.

“We’ve told Liberals that their current Bill C-2 will not pass unless they remove the violations of Canadians’ individual freedoms and privacy,” Poilievre said in an interview with CBC News.

“We don’t think that law-abiding Canadians should lose their liberty to pay for the failures of the Liberals on borders and immigration.”

‘The Blasphemy Business’: The Persecution of Christians, August 2025

Christians killed by Muslims in Africa

“What we see in Africa today is a kind of silent genocide or silent, brutal, savage war that is occurring in the shadows and all too often ignored by the international community… [J]ihadist groups are in a position to take over not one, not two, but several countries in Africa…. It’s very dangerous for the national security of the United States…. Christians are going to be targeted and destroyed.” — Alberto Miguel Fernandez, geopolitical analyst and former U.S. diplomat, Fox News, August 7, 2025, Mozambique.

America has an army of helpers in its drive to mass deport illegal migrants

British Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood recently met with US secretary of homeland security Kristi Noem, a staunch ally of President Trump. By most accounts, the meeting went surprisingly well, given their political differences, as they discussed their common goal of trying to curb illegal immigration.

Mahmood, like Noem, faces significant opposition from progressive judges to deporting illegal immigrants. In the UK, the courts recently blocked a migrant from being deported under the new “one in, one out” agreement with France, marking another instance of judicial obstruction of efforts to control Britain’s borders.
