Genocide Against Christians? That’s Not News

St. Francis Catholic Church Nigeria

As we approach the second anniversary of Hamas mercilessly slaughtering 1,200 human beings on October 7, 2023, our media remind us daily of the death toll of Palestinians, according to the “Gaza Health Ministry,” which is run by Hamas.

It’s outrageous that these media outlets are such receptive publicists for mass-murdering terrorists. But they have effectively reversed the polarity, and the people of Israel are painted as the most horrible ghouls on Earth.

Care to Comment, Ilhan? Feds Find Rampant Immigration Fraud in Minneapolis-St. Paul

There’s an old adage, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” It recognizes the universal tactic for doing well away from home. Rep. Ilhan Omar is from Somalia. This we know. Just about all of the other details of her journey to this point are murky at best. The other thing we know is Omar probably would not do in Rome what the Romans do.

Almost half of Canadians say they have seen systemic racism in their province: poll

OTTAWA – Almost half of Canadians polled say they have observed evidence of systemic racism in their province, a new survey suggests.

The Leger poll of 1,627 people, conducted between Aug. 29 and 31 for the Association for Canadian Studies, says 49 per cent of Canadians reported having observed evidence of systemic racism — racism embedded in government and social systems and laws — in their province.

The poll, which was conducted online and can’t be assigned a margin of error, suggests that 37 per cent of those polled said they hadn’t observed evidence of systemic racism in their province, while 14 per cent said they didn’t know or preferred not to answer.

Jobs, travel, national parks – what impact will US shutdown have?

The US federal government has shut down after Republican and Democratic lawmakers failed to resolve a budget stand-off.

The impasse affects the funding of government operations throughout October and beyond, and is poised to cause widespread disruption for Americans in areas ranging from air travel to zoo visits.

The political gridlock is also expected to put 40% of the federal workforce – about 750,000 people – on unpaid leave.

Amina Gerba – Trudeau appointed Grifter

The trips in July 2023 and 2024, which fell within the rules of Senate travel, were reimbursed. Gerba and her husband took the courses at Collège Éducacentre, their tuition costing $1,521 each time.

Travel expenses — including hotel, business-class airfare and daily allowances for the six-day trips — cost taxpayers $9,064.30 in the first year and $9,790.25 in the second.

Here’s where Pierre Poilievre and Mark Carney have their work cut out for them ahead of the next election

Every political party that earned the right to sit in the current House of Commons — even the winning Liberals — emerged from this year’s election with a dose of humility.

Sure, the Liberals were spared the drubbing that had seemed imminent at the beginning of the year, but just how far they fell beforehand and their failure to win a majority should be staying top of mind. The Conservatives were denied the easy win they expected. The New Democrats, the Bloc Québécois and the Greens all lost seats.

Vivian Bercovici: Trump’s serious Gaza plan should embarrass Carney

Numbness. Disbelief. Very wary hopefulness.

These words best capture the reaction in Israel to the extraordinary press conference held on Monday afternoon in the State Dining Room of the White House.

Following two years of war with Hamas, sparked by the savage slaughter of October 7, Israelis are ground down; by grief, hardship, anger, fear and the intensifying hostility of what was the civilized world.

Germany seeks to extradite Ukrainian diver over 2022 Nord Stream gas pipeline attack

Germany is seeking to extradite a Ukrainian man arrested in Poland on suspicion of diving down to the Baltic sea bed to plant explosives in the 2022 Nord Stream gas pipeline attack.

The man, identified in Polish media reports as Volodymyr Z and by Germany as Vladimir Z, is described as a trained diver and is sought by investigators in Germany, who believe he was part of a group that sabotaged the pipeline, consisting of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines.

“He was part of a group of people who placed explosives on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines near the island of Bornholm in September 2022,” Germany’s federal court of justice said. “The accused participated in the necessary dives.”
