‘Anti-racism became a self-help fad for liberal whites’

The murder of George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer in May 2020 proved to be an inflection point in American life. Against the backdrop of a global pandemic and the Trump presidency, racial identity politics exploded into the mainstream. This was the summer of Black Lives Matter marches and protests. A summer in which BLM-branded ‘wokeness’ took hold of liberal America and arguably never really let go.

6 Times Leftists Melting Down Over Jimmy Kimmel Were Happy To Deny Conservatives ‘Free Speech’

ABC News pulled Jimmy Kimmel off the air on Wednesday. Not for being painfully unfunny, and not even for having an opinion. No, Kimmel got yanked because he flat-out lied and claimed: “the MAGA gang desperately [is] trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

It was a pure lie. Following widespread criticism, Nextstar Media Group said its ABC affiliate stations would not run Kimmel’s show over the comments.

Carney Is Not a Goaltender

Who is Mark Carney?

The man comes to us from a glamorous but allegedly mediocre career in banking. He was in fact, as many claim, an ineffectual and counter-productive Bank Governor for both Canada and the U.K., despite his frequent braggadocio of having saved two economies. One recalls that Jordan Peterson disdainfully pegged him as a self-anointed “planetary savior,” for Peterson understood that Carney, a man with no class or pedigree, was given compulsively to self-promotion.

Trump warns Starmer ‘illegal migration will destroy the UK from within’

Donald Trump urged Keir Starmer to deploy the military to stop the Channel boats crisis breaking Britain today.

At a tense joint press conference, the US president warned that illegal immigration ‘destroys countries from within’ – as he highlighted his own success in securing America’s borders.

Mr Trump also bluntly stated that he ‘disagreed’ with Sir Keir’s plan to recognise a Palestinian state, urged the UK to do more drilling for oil and gas in the North Sea, and pointedly hailed the ‘traditions of British liberty’.

The academic puppeteers are more dangerous than the puppet who killed Kirk

We no longer fight ideas: we want to destroy those who hold them. Tyler is the puppet behind which stand the most lethal puppeteers: the university professors, the network of “progressive intellectuals,” the wicked teachers who turned Robinson into a killer.

He asked simple and rational questions. And in an era as crazy as ours, reason mixed with calm always gets on people’s nerves.

A few months ago, a video circulated of the debate between Charlie Kirk and the students of the Cambridge Union. On one side Kirk, on the other an eccentric English boy with improbable red hair.

“Tell me one thing,” Kirk asked: “Between Israel and Hamas, who’s the good guy?”

BC Ferries deal raised with Transport Canada weeks before Freeland’s criticism, e-mails show

Transport Canada had weeks of warning before BC Ferries made a controversial announcement in June that it was buying four new ships from China, according to an e-mail from the ferry organization’s head.

The purchase was swiftly condemned at the time by Chrystia Freeland, who was transport minister until she stepped down from the position on Tuesday to become Ottawa’s special representative to Ukraine.

David Cayley: CBC actively suppressed credible COVID dissent

On March 22, 2020, CBC News Network interviewed Dr. Richard Schabas. Schabas had been Ontario’s chief medical officer of health between 1987 and 1997 and had appeared, or been heard, on the CBC, by his estimate, “literally hundreds” of times before. For more than 30 years, he had been a regular and trusted source on public health matters, and he had fully justified the CBC’s confidence in him. During the SARS outbreak in 2003, for example, Schabas was the chief of staff at one of the affected hospitals, York Central. At a time when there was widespread panic and some models were predicting 120 million deaths worldwide, he determined that the disease was not sufficiently infectious to spread in community settings and predicted that it would die out as soon as proper infection control measures were adopted in hospitals. He was proved right.

GOLDSTEIN: Trudeau era featured worst economic growth since Great Depression, study says

A new report by the Fraser Institute on Canada’s economic growth illustrates the wisdom of the famous saying popularized by Mark Twain that, “There are three kinds of lies: Lies, damned lies and statistics.”

It argues that while the Justin Trudeau government was boasting about Canada’s strong economic growth during its last five years in power from 2020-2024, the average Canadian’s standard of living was plummeting by the steepest rate in any five-year period since the Great Depression.

Pull ABC’s Broadcast License? After the Last Few Days? Hell, Yes!

We’ve all heard the old line that character is destiny. It’s one of those things you might have sticking in your head every time a risk you take goes wrong or there’s a teachable moment that plays out in front of you.

You can beat yourself up pretty badly with “character is destiny.” Because it’s very true, and it’s also harsh as hell.

As Los Angeles Gives Up on Public Safety, Residents Foot the Bill

Last week, the city of Malibu hosted a “Protect Your Property Security Workshop,” with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Malibu/Lost Hills Station as co-host. It’s an odd event: the city and the sheriff are telling people how to protect their own property. Isn’t the government supposed to do that?

This isn’t the first time Malibu has admitted to its residents that the city can’t keep them safe. In mid-May, two days before the Pacific Coast Highway re-opened to outside traffic after the L.A. fires, the Malibu City Council voted to spend $260,000 a month to hire private security guards to prevent homes from being burglarized.
