Why America is at a dangerous crossroads following the Charlie Kirk shooting

It has been a brutal week in America and I’m not the only one wondering whether the country can pull itself out of this spiral of hatred and violence.

After one of the most searing assassinations in US history, the governor of Utah pleaded for Americans to turn down the political temperature.

But hardly anyone that I’ve spoken to since Charlie Kirk’s death thinks that will be the path the country will choose. Not anytime soon, at least.

Jesse Kline: Carney’s statist plan to fix the government-caused housing crisis

Nearly six months after promising to “build twice as many homes every year,” on Sunday, Prime Minister Mark Carney followed the path laid out by virtually every other left-leaning politician in the country by launching a new government bureaucracy intended to increase the stock of affordable (read: socialized) housing throughout the country.

He’s just spewing BS. We know it he knows we know it.

Brigitte Macron will provide ‘scientific and photographic evidence’ she is a woman to US court, her lawyer reveals

Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron are planning to present photographic evidence to a US court to prove that she is a woman.

Their lawyer said that the French president and his wife will present evidence to support their defamation lawsuit against American right-wing influencer Candace Owens, who promoted claims that Mrs Macron was born a man.

Tom Clare, the Macrons’ lead counsel in the case, told the BBC’s Fame Under Fire podcast that his clients were willing to demonstrate ‘generically and specifically’ that the allegations were false.

Alberta to increase provincial control over immigration and cease Carney government’s sinister abuse of Canadian citizens through it’s cheap foreign labour scams

Alberta premier directs minister to increase provincial control over immigration

Premier Danielle Smith is directing the provincial jobs minister to use all legal means possible to give Alberta more control over immigration.

In a new mandate letter given to Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration Minister Joseph Schow, Smith says Alberta needs more control over immigration to ensure the province sees sustainable levels of newcomers.

“Our provincial immigration levels and policies should always ensure that Canadian citizens have first access to job opportunities, and that young Canadians are not losing out on employment opportunities to temporary foreign workers,” the letter says.

‘I’m not buying this’: Maga dismisses claims Kirk assassin acted alone

Allies of Donald Trump have dismissed claims Charlie Kirk was killed by a lone assassin.

Senior figures in the Maga movement believe Tyler Robinson, the student charged with Kirk’s murder, is part of a wider conspiracy involving a Left-wing terrorist network, and that authorities need to widen the scope of their investigation.

The FBI has suggested suspect Mr Robinson may have worked with others, although no one else has yet been charged in connection with the crime.

Truckers Spot Economic Slowdown—Do Canada’s Recession Stats Tell the Full Story?

Management professor Sylvain Charlebois says Canadian truckers are the proverbial canary in the coal mine for the state of the country’s economy.

Many of those working in the industry for decades say their trucking volume is getting lighter lately, the routes shorter, and their pay interval longer, according to the Dalhousie University professor. They are getting paid every 60 to 90 days, rather than every 30 days, which has occurred during previous economic downturns, Charlebois said.

“For many years, I’ve always believed that they’re able to foresee changes in economic cycles, and that they’re able to foresee exactly what’s going to happen with the economy,” Charlebois said in an interview with The Epoch Times.

Jamie Sarkonak: The Liberal plan for crime? More illusions of change

Following a summer of horrific crimes — a fatal domestic assault in the street by a man on release, the stabbing of a grandmother in front of a grocery store, the execution of a loving father in front of his children during a break-in, to name a few — the Liberals want you to know that they’ve got a plan for justice reform.

It involves reforms for bail, domestic violence and hate crime — which were already reformed a few years back. Justice Minister Sean Fraser is coming into the fall session with the same old dusted-off stack of ineffective ideas that his predecessors already implemented.

‘F–king livid’ Jimmy Kimmel, sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez spotted leaving LA studio after ABC yanks ‘Live’ from air

Jimmy Kimmel and his sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez were spotted moments after ABC yanked the program following backlash to the late-night host’s remarks about Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Kimmel rushed into a black Chevy Silverado outside the El Capitan Entertainment Centre in Los Angeles on Wednesday night in Los Angeles shortly after receiving the news that his show is getting the boot.

The comedian — clad in a flannel shirt, jeans and a baseball cap — clutched his backpack as his assistant helped him climb into the backseat of the vehicle, according to video footage captured by NBC 4 Los Angeles.

Reactions to ABC’s Pulling of ‘Kimmel’ Reflect America’s Partisan Divide

Fans, celebrities and Democratic politicians on Wednesday expressed anger and disappointment after ABC announced that it was pulling “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” from the air indefinitely, saying that the move amounted to censorship and was an attack on free speech.

Conservative activists and media personalities, meanwhile, celebrated ABC’s decision, saying that Mr. Kimmel’s comments about the motives of the man accused of fatally shooting the right-wing activist Charlie Kirk last week warranted the network shelving his late-night show.

On Monday, Mr. Kimmel said the “MAGA gang” was “desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

Jimmy Kimmel propagated vicious radical left propaganda in an effort to shift blame for a heinous political murder. He can continue to do so, no one is stopping him. His employer may face consequences for allowing such behavior in the future just as you or I would have our licenses suspended or revoked for drunk driving.

The same people crying for poor Jimmy were just fine with banning President Trump from social media and censoring the Hunter Biden laptop revelations.

German Young Socialists: “Ban Men’s Podcasts! Take the Microphones Away from Men!”

A youth chapter of SPD proposes that ‘male’ podcasts only be allowed to continue if a female fact-checker is involved.

The Kiel branch of the Young Socialists (Jusos) is demanding a ban on men’s podcasts, Apollo News reports. Jusos is arguing that the format spreads ‘toxic masculinity’ stereotypes and conspiracy theories, and pose a threat to democratic values. Their motion, set to be debated at the SPD youth organization’s state delegate conference at the end of September, is titled: “Ban men’s podcasts! – Take the microphones away from men!”
