Trump Open to Bringing Back Insane Asylums

President Donald Trump says he is open to the idea of bringing back insane asylums.

During an interview in the Oval Office Friday with Daily Caller White House Correspondent Reagan Reese, Trump was asked if he would consider reopening insane asylums for those suffering from severe mental illness.

“Yeah, I would,” Trump responded, adding, “They used to have them, and you never saw people like we had, you know, they used to have them.”

Conrad Black: Lindsay Case Highlights Public Backing for Homeowners’ Right to Defend Property

The controversy generated around charging a man for injuring an armed intruder who broke into his home in Lindsay, Ont., has ricocheted loudly and raised important questions that every citizen would wish to have answered clearly. The homeowner, Jeremy McDonald, was physically present when the alleged intruder, Michael Breen, damaged a screen and window in a forced illegal entry in the early hours of Aug. 18, and was allegedly carrying a crossbow, a potentially deadly weapon. He has been charged with related offences.

“Get Out,” Molenbeek Councillor Tells Belgians Critical of Islamic Influence

The municipality of Molenbeek, a town in the Brussels metropolitan area known for being a hotbed of jihadists, is once again making headlines. During a city council meeting, a veiled Socialist councillor, complaining about derogatory comments made about her online by her political opponents, suggested that Belgians unhappy with the creeping Islamisation of their city should “get out.” This blatant reversal of the usual discourse against the foreigner has sparked outrage, confirming a growing sentiment among Europeans that they are no longer welcome in their own country.

Quebec shouldn’t ban street prayer. Municipalities should enforce existing laws

Every week, for the last several months, Islamic afternoon prayers have been held outside Montreal’s Notre-Dame Basilica. The prayers are hosted by the group Montreal4Palestine, which has used the space outside the church to protest Israel’s continuing war in Gaza.

It’s either a beautiful or egregiously provocative scene, depending on how you look at it. Beautiful for what it illustrates about the freedoms afforded to people in Canada: the ability to practice one’s religion outside the place of worship of another religion. Egregiously provocative for what one might infer about the motives of those who have chosen Notre-Dame at the site for their protest and prayers.

No matter how you slice it, it is an act of aggression by a cult that should never have been permitted entry to Canada.

Racism in the British countryside? The bigger issue is ethnic minority riots in cities

Too many of our academic institutions have substituted rigorous research for racial activism. University of Leicester’s Centre for Hate Studies is just the latest example. They have published a report which warns of “rural racism” in the “overwhelmingly white” British countryside.

The researchers – who spoke to just 115 people and 20 community groups over a two-year period – also lamented the lack of religiously-sensitive facilities in rural areas that are defined by their traditional pub culture and other “monocultural customs”.

John Ivison: Carney’s reputation is holding up better outside of Canada than in

It is an almost immutable law of politics that as a leader’s reputation flourishes abroad, it deteriorates at home.

In the last week of summer, Prime Minister Mark Carney won plaudits for his trip to Ukraine to help celebrate that beleaguered nation’s independence day. He was the only world leader in Kyiv and his message that Canada will always stand in solidarity with Ukraine was well-received.

He went because he was snubbed by Washington.

‘Western democracy at risk without asylum reform’

The “existence of western democracies” is in peril without fundamental reforms to the European asylum system, one of Germany’s most eminent legal figures has warned.

Hans-Jürgen Papier was previously the most senior judge in the country, which became a European standard bearer for liberal immigration policy. Papier said the current rules had opened the floodgates to “uncontrolled and unconditional immigration” and needed to be radically revised before the public lost faith in conventional politics.

Unfortunately people like Hans are more afraid of losing access to the trough than they are of mass immigration from incompatible cultures.

The only thing that scares them more is the AfD.

What We Know About ‘Careless’ Discharging of Firearms in Muskoka Area

Videos of men in the Ontario countryside haphazardly discharging firearms, some of which are now prohibited, have gone viral online, and police said they’re investigating.
“Many of you have seen the videos circulating on social media showing individuals discharging firearms in a careless and unsafe manner. We have as well, and have been investigating for some time,” Sgt. Joe Brisebois of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said in a video released on Aug. 30.

GIESBRECHT: ‘Land Back’ at Bloodvein

That land is not “stolen” or “shared,” and it is certainly not “theirs.”

The Bloodvein First Nation in north eastern Manitoba has decided that it will ban all non-indigenous hunters from entering a huge swath of Crown land surrounding its reserve. It has put up a blockade. This is clearly illegal, but this is how CBC reported the illegal action:

“Chief Young told CBC that Natural Resources and Indigenous Futures Minister Ian Bushie has been in contact with the First Nation. She said that the minister, along with other First Nations in the area like Poplar River and Berens River, support Bloodvein’s decision to limit hunters on it’s land.”

International Association of Genocide Scholars is Surprisingly Muslim

The International Association of Genocide Scholars falsely accused Israel of genocide.

The IAGS had refused to condemn the Hamas massacres of Oct 7 but has now popped up to prop up Hamas war propaganda. This may seems surprising because the organization uses a picture from Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust museum, and an Elie Wiesel quote on its front page, but the membership is light on Jews and surprisingly Muslim.

AfD: Appointed for Death?

Six candidates of hated party die just before local elections In German state. Coincidence?

What is the likelihood that four candidates and two reserve candidates of the same political party, in the same region, would drop dead suddenly, within 13 days of each other—and just before local elections? It happened in North Rhine-Westphalia to Alternative for Germany (AfD) candidates on the September 14 ballot.

The four candidates were Ralph Lange, 66; Wolfgang Klinger, 71; Stefan Berendes, 59; and Wolfgang Seitz, also 59. All were running for local offices in the northwest German state, where voters will go to the polls in less than two weeks. German election officials have invalidated previous mail ballots due to the deaths.

Ilhan Omar’s husband became a multi-millionaire overnight

It’s hard to remember back so far, but before the dementia set in, Joe Biden wasn’t stupid. He wasn’t an intellectual, and his values were awful, but he had a sort of slick, fast-talking intelligence. Also, he or someone in his orbit was smart enough to understand that there is a way to get rich in politics without seeming to do so: Instead of putting the money in your own bank account, funnel it to your family. It now appears that Ilhan Omar has read the Joe Biden playbook, since her husband went from rags to riches overnight once he married her.
