Honda Indy changes lanes with move to Markham

The Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto is shifting gears and moving its tracks to Markham next year.

Wednesday’s announcement marks a major detour for the annual open-wheel auto race, colloquially known as the Honda Indy, which has been taking place on a street course through Toronto’s Exhibition Place in some form since 1986.

… Asked why the event is being moved north of Toronto, Jeff Atkinson, president of the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham, said the city’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup hosting duties was a factor.

FIFA alone doesn’t account for this and the other factors provided seem the polite way out. Chow certainly doesn’t seem upset.

Trump Calls for Accountability Against Soros’s Global Network

President Donald Trump has once again struck at the heart of the globalist machine, demanding federal racketeering charges against Democrat megadonor George Soros and his son, Alexander. For decades, Soros has funneled billions into organizations and movements that destabilize nations, bankroll violent protests, and manipulate democratic processes under the cover of “philanthropy.” His influence has stretched from American streets ─ funding BLM demonstrations, pro-Palestine agitators, disruptive protests in cities (like Los Angeles) — to violent uprisings and political meddling across Europe. The pattern is unmistakable: Soros’s empire thrives on chaos, eroding borders, undermining law and order, and crushing conservative forces wherever they rise. These efforts are not random acts of charity, but part of a calculated strategy to build an anti-Trump belt of influence designed to block populist and nationalist leaders who reflect the will of the people. Trump’s call for accountability is not only justified but urgently necessary, for no democracy can endure when billionaires purchase disorder to silence the voice of the majority.

REMPEL GARNER: Temporary Foreign Worker Program must be abolished

Once upon a time not so long ago, if you were a young Canadian, you could learn vital skills in an entry-level job, and earn enough to pay for school while saving. In return, employers would benefit from a skilled, productive domestic labour workforce.

But that agreement has been broken, as evidenced by Canada’s staggering youth unemployment and the countless gut-punching stories about young Canadians who have put out hundreds of resumes without getting as much as a single callback.

The NDP leadership is underway — and the party is limiting signatures from ‘cis’ men

OTTAWA — Prospective federal NDP leadership candidates will have to raise $100,000 and amass 500 signatures from members — most of which cannot come from cisgender men — to be officially in the running, according to rules that were released on Tuesday.

With the NDP leadership race now underway, candidates who are hoping to succeed Jagmeet Singh should be making themselves known in short order. The winner will be announced in Winnipeg as part of the party’s national convention on March 29, 2026.

The NDP is a Hate Group.

Google Dodges Worst Penalties in U.S. Antitrust Case

Google avoided harsh antitrust penalties for its conduct in the U.S. search market, with a judge barring the company from entering into exclusive deals but rejecting a forced spinoff of its Chrome browser and other sweeping remedies sought by the Justice Department.

U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta in a Tuesday ruling said Google can’t pay to be the exclusive search engine on devices and browsers, but he allowed the company to continue making payments for distribution of its products, saying a prohibition on those agreements would harm recipients such as Apple.

Mehta’s order follows his ruling last year that Google illegally monopolized the search market for more than a decade. That opinion said Google used illegal distribution agreements with companies such as Apple to build and maintain a 90% market share and prevent rivals from developing competitive alternatives.

Parts shortages, snarled supply chains are sidelining Canadian vehicles and troops in Latvia: documents

Prime Minister Mark Carney recently walked a gauntlet of parked military gear while visiting Canadian and allied troops in Latvia.

All of it was spit and polish, some draped in camouflage and looking showroom ready, if not somewhat menacing.

It was an impressive, seemingly substantive, display of combat power.

‘A clear message to Trump’: BBC correspondents react to China’s military parade

Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un stood publicly shoulder to shoulder for the first time on Wednesday, ahead of a massive military parade in central Beijing.

That parade, which marked 80 years since China’s victory over Japan in World War Two, saw Beijing unveiling a range of new military hardware – including a new nuclear intercontinental ballistic missile, a new road-bound missile for delivering hypersonic weapons, a new laser weapon, and even “robotic dog” drones.

It comes at a time when Xi seeks to project Beijing’s power on the international stage – not just as the world’s second-largest economy, but also as a counterweight to the United States as Trump’s tariffs rock the global economic and political order.

Quebec declares Northvolt battery plant partnership dead, loses $270M investment

Quebec’s Northvolt project is officially dead — and the government says it is cutting its losses.

Christine Fréchette, Quebec’s economy minister, announced Tuesday that the province will invest no further money in Northvolt Batteries North America.

“The company’s failure to present a satisfactory plan with regard to Quebec’s interests has led us to assert our rights in order to recover as much of our investment as possible,” Fréchette’s said in a statement. “This venture proved unsuccessful, and we are obviously disappointed.”
