Rubio: US ‘in Process’ of Terrorist Label for Muslim Brotherhood … Liberal Party of Canada On Borrowed Time

Carney speaks at a Muslim Brotherhood function

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Tuesday that the U.S. is in the process of designating the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.

Speaking to Sid Rosenburg of “Sid and Friends in the Morning,” Rubio was asked about the support that New York Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is getting from groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood.

Trump has many valid reasons to distrust Canada’s ruling class and certainly its Islamist compromised Liberal Party, in fact he has almost as many reasons as Canadians do.

LILLEY: Canada playing small ball in trade talks with the United States

Canada, under Mark Carney, continues to play small ball while the United States under Donald Trump keeps trying to score home runs. If this were a baseball game, we would have pulled the pitcher by now and tried to figure out which other players we could replace.

While Canada got hit with more tariffs on Friday night, China received a 90-day extension on more tariffs on Monday.

National guard begins deploying on DC streets after Trump police takeover

The Washington DC national guard began deploying on the city’s streets on Tuesday night, as the city’s mayor toughened her response to Donald Trump taking control of the city’s police force.

The unusual federalization of law enforcement in the US capital began a day after the president ordered the troops’ arrival, calling Washington DC a “lawless” city, despite official crime statistics saying otherwise, a White House official confirmed.

Muriel Bowser, the Democratic mayor of Washington, hardened her stance on Tuesday night after treading a more diplomatic line earlier in the day. During a live town hall type event on social media on Tuesday night, she described the arrival of federalized national guard as an authoritarian push.

Carney’s $26B bet on prefab housing could be a gamechanger — but will everyone play along?

Prime Minister Mark Carney’s vow to double Canadian housing construction to 500,000 units a year would seem to be an ambitious enough goal.

But Carney’s housing plan is also an industrial strategy meant to kick-start a nascent factory-built housing industry and rejuvenate Canada’s ailing forest products sector.

With his $26 billion Build Canada Homes (BCH) agency, which goes into operation this fall, Ottawa hopes to increase production of innovative housing types including prefabricated, modular, panelized and mass timber housing.

Dutch Muslim Groups File Complaint Against Geert Wilders Ahead of Decisive Election

Fourteen Dutch Muslim organizations have filed a formal legal complaint against right-wing leader Geert Wilders, accusing him of sedition, group insult, and incitement to hatred over a divisive social media post ahead of the November elections.

The complaints cite an image Wilders shared on X last week. The split-screen graphic contrasts a young blonde woman with the caption “PVV” (Wilders’ Party for Freedom) on one side with an older woman in a headscarf captioned “PvdA” (the Labour Party) on the other, with the following text: “The choice is yours on 29/10.” The date references the upcoming Dutch parliamentary elections where polls project the PVV to win.

About 40% of Canadians, Americans believe lasting peace can be reached in Ukraine war: poll

Almost half of Canadians believe the federal government is providing the right amount of support to Ukraine in the war against Russia, while 14 per cent think Canada is not supportive enough, according to a new poll.

The poll, which was conducted by Leger for the Metropolis Institute and the Association for Canadian Studies, compared Canadian and American opinions about the war, which started in 2014, but reached a new height in 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine.

Mexico expels 26 cartel figures wanted by US officials in deal with White House

Mexico has extradited 26 high-ranking cartel figures to the US in the latest major deal with the Trump administration as US authorities ratchet up pressure on criminal networks sending drugs across the border.

Authorities sent 26 prisoners who were wanted in the US for ties to drug-trafficking groups, Mexico’s attorney general’s office and security ministry said in a joint statement on Tuesday. The transfers were carried out after a promise from the US justice department that prosecutors would not seek the death penalty in any of the cases.

Those being handed over to US custody include Abigael González Valencia, a leader of “Los Cuinis” a group closely aligned with notorious Jalisco New Generation cartel or CJNG. Another person, Roberto Salazar, is accused of participating in the 2008 killing of a Los Angeles county sheriff’s deputy, the person said.

Conrad Black: There’s Only One Way to End the Israel–Hamas War

Though it is being widely attacked as an unjustified use of force, the announced Israeli intention to take control of Gaza and eliminate Hamas as a terrorist organization is eminently justified by Hamas’s outrages against Israel. It is also the only possible way of bringing peace to the Arabs and the Jews of the area.

There is perhaps some symmetry in the fact that these biblical lands provide—even in the 21st Christian century, and more than 5,000 years after the identifiable origins of the Jewish people—a place of severe contention and of almost impenetrable hypocritical posturing by a great many nations of the world. The neighbouring Arab powers make the usual formulaic statements of sympathy for the Palestinians, but because the Palestinian extremists are affiliated with terrorist insurgent organizations in their own countries, they will not receive any Palestinian refugees.

Undercover officers pose as joggers to stop catcalling

Coming this fall … Undercover Catcall Cops

Undercover police officers have posed as joggers in a bid to catch cat-callers.

Surrey Police sent two undercover officers out jogging at rush hour, to show the level of catcalling female joggers received.

“These behaviours may not be criminal offences in themselves, but they need to be addressed,” a Surrey Police spokesman said about the patrols.

CARPAY: Alberta can leave Canada, without court approval

Alberta’s Chief Electoral Officer, Gordon McClure, has received a proposed constitutional referendum question: “Do you agree that the Province of Alberta shall become a sovereign country and cease to be a province in Canada?”

Gordon McClure has gone to court to ask a judge’s opinion on whether a referendum on Alberta separation would violate Canada’s constitution.

There Is No Way To Moderate Transgenderism. It Must Be Destroyed

Transgenderism is retreating.

In a recent piece in The New York Times, Kinnon R. MacKinnon —“an assistant professor who studies transgender care at York University in Toronto” and identifies as a “trans man”— grudgingly admits that the critics were right and that gender ideology, and especially the medical transition of children, was built on lies.

How crime shattered DC: The US capital needed an intervention

As a part of the White House press pool, I crammed into a frigid van on Saturday morning, toward the back of President Trump’s motorcade en route to his Virginia golf course. We passed a grimy tent encampment on our way out of the city, and I wondered to myself whether Trump was peering out the window.

My question seemed to be answered the following day. On Truth Social, the president posted pictures likely taken from the motorcade that morning or the next, as he returned for another round of golf. Alongside images of roadside tents and trash, Trump wrote, “We’re having a News Conference tomorrow in the White House. I’m going to make our Capital safer and more beautiful than it ever was before.” Sure enough, at a marathon briefing on Monday morning, Trump announced that he was placing the DC police force under federal control and deploying the National Guard to secure streets long blighted by disorder — and bloodied by the fourth highest homicide rate in the nation.

At first, I hardly noticed the encampment. My parents dropped me off for college at Foggy Bottom 14 years ago this month, and as far as I can remember, tents have dotted that part of the city ever since. But rumours were swirling that a federal takeover of DC was imminent, so I spent the ride thinking back on the last decade.

Canada wildfire season already second worst on record as experts warn of ‘new reality’

With hundreds of wildfires burning out of control, Canada’s 2025 fire season is already the second-worst on record, as scientists report climate change is prolonging and exacerbating the burning, leading to more destruction, evacuations and smoke-filled skies.

More than 470 fires across the country are currently classified as “out of control”, according to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC).

7,318,421 hectares of land in Canada have burned due to wildfires this year – close to 78% more than the five-year average of 4,114,516 hectares, according to the CIFFC’s latest data.

It used to be an ice age was the new normal.

Was there another option to dropping atomic bombs on Japan 80 years ago?

With the passing last week of the 80th anniversary of the U.S. dropping atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima (on August 6, 1945) and Nagasaki (three days later), familiar questions once again arise about our having done so. These include whether it was absolutely necessary in order to bring an end to the war, and whether or not there was any alternative to the two bomb attacks?

Addressing the second question first, an alternative option had been discussed. It involved providing the Japanese with a demonstration by dropping an atomic bomb on an uninhabited island. But such a demonstration involved risks.
