Vigilante Tube passengers face arrest over ‘assault’ of naked man on the Tube after they took law into their hands

Commuters who took the law into their own hands when a Tube passenger dropped his trousers in a packed London Underground carriage could face arrest, the Daily Mail can reveal today.

British Transport Police (BTP) believe the naked man, who has since been detained under the mental health act, was assaulted on the District line in east London.

Up to four men stepped in when he repeatedly refused to pull up his pants at 3.30pm last Thursday. He was pinned to the floor and carried off the train before being arrested by an off duty police officer.

Ford government fails to hit housing target, even after adding LTC beds, student dorms

Tiny Houses for a shrunk people

Despite adding long-term care beds, retirement homes and student dormitories to its housing statistics, the Ford government fell tens of thousands of units short of its goal last year.

New data released by the province this month confirms that even with its modified definitions of new housing, Ontario achieved less than 80 per cent of its self-imposed 125,000-unit target for 2024.

Why is that idiot at Queen’s Park still wanting to import the 3rd world? Oh right his cronies love their slaves.

Trump says he’s placing DC police under federal control and deploying National Guard

UPDATE: Trump says he’s placing DC police under federal control and deploying National Guard

Trump demands homeless people ‘immediately’ move out of Washington DC

US President Donald Trump has said homeless people must “move out” of Washington DC as he vowed to tackle crime in the city, but the mayor pushed back against the White House likening the American capital to Baghdad in Iraq.

The Republican president has also trailed a news conference for Monday about his plan to make the city “safer and more beautiful than it ever was before”.

Mayor Muriel Bowser, a Democrat, said: “We are not experiencing a crime spike.”

Trump signed an order last month making it easier to arrest homeless people, and he last week ordered federal law enforcement into the streets of Washington DC.

Vancouver’s African Descent Festival shutters amid dispute over city-imposed costs

Organizers of the African Descent Festival say they feel let down by Vancouver officials who hit them with hefty policing fees — charges they claim were meant to block their event.

But city officials insist the festival failed to meet safety and planning requirements.

The vibrant celebration of Black culture, held annually since 2015, was abruptly shut down Friday morning as police moved in to disperse attendees. Barricades remain at English Bay Beach, where the weekend festival was scheduled for Aug. 9 to 10.

Environmental groups too white and middle class, says green boss

The new boss of one of Britain’s largest environmental groups has agreed that membership has become too white and middle class, as he vowed to build a more diverse movement.

Asad Rehman, who this week has become the first person of colour to lead Friends of the Earth in its 54-year history, said anti-fracking battles had seen the organisation stand alongside working-class people in “left-behind, deprived” communities. But the self-described “reluctant environmentalist” said more needed to be done.

An analysis last year by the Race Report campaign found environmental and conservation groups were among the least diverse in the UK, with 4.5 per cent of their staff being non-white compared with 16 per cent in the working population overall.

It seems like a lifetime ago, but Justin Trudeau was Canada’s prime minister until only a few months ago.

As he gets smaller and smaller in the rearview mirror, we’re coming to terms with some of the public policy disasters that came out of Trudeau’s time as prime minister.

Stop posting about Gaza, police tell woman with Jewish family

A woman subjected to anti-Semitic abuse on social media says she was advised by police to stop posting on controversial subjects such as Gaza.

Heidi Bachram, who had Jewish family members murdered and taken hostage by Hamas during the Oct 7 attacks, was the subject of attacks by another user on X.

The account was eventually suspended for violating X’s rules with the posts, which contained anti-Semitic comments and cartoons showing stereotypically Jewish figures.

Cory Morgan: Poilievre’s Proposal Is Poised to Test Carney’s Resolve on Energy Projects

As Canada’s industries reel under ever-changing tariff burdens applied by U.S. President Donald Trump on Canadian products, it becomes clear that Canada must diversify its customer base for exports. The United States will always be Canada’s primary trading partner due to its size and proximity, but Canada will remain vulnerable to protectionist actions from presidents if it refuses to expand its capability to develop resources and deliver products to overseas customers.

Carney has kowtowed to the Indigenous rent seekers, likely a deliberate move to advance his economy killing eco-nuttery.

Migrant Hotel Protests Continue Across England

England witnessed a day of protests on Saturday, August 9th, aimed at the national policy of housing asylum applicants close to local communities.

The form of the problem varies, from the Home Office filling entire hotels with migrants to local authorities renting ‘houses in multiple occupation’ (HMOs) from private landlords which they then fill with asylum seekers. This growing population primarily involves undocumented young men, whose alleged crimes fuel local safety concerns.

‘Your suffering doesn’t matter’: Harvard psychologist tackles Jews’ ‘traumatic invalidation’

After the Hamas-led terror attacks of Oct. 7, 2023, Dr. Miri Bar-Halpern, a psychology instructor at Harvard Medical School, wrote on an Israeli Facebook group offering therapy resources to those affected by the attacks.

She was flooded with requests from American Jews and Israeli-Americans. She, and seven colleagues, provided a year’s worth of pro bono support in Massachusetts.

Economic case for Alberta-Saskatchewan independence

Western Canada sits on extraordinary economic potential that remains artificially constrained by federal policies designed to redistribute wealth eastward. Recent polling suggests Saskatchewan has overtaken Alberta in its appetite for independence — a shift that highlights growing frustration with a system that penalizes success. The economic fundamentals show that Alberta and Saskatchewan together would create one of the world’s most economically self-sufficient nations.

The return of retributive justice: Liberal ideals are being rejected

Reform might be surging in the Red Wall, but there’s at least one resident of County Durham — specifically, of HMP Frankland — who will be hoping the party doesn’t sweep to power at the next election. Apparently envisaging British justice as a reality show presented by Danny Dyer, Nigel Farage recently announced his intention to send 10,000 of our most violent criminals to draconian jails abroad. “If that means that Ian Huntley goes to El Salvador, well our attitude is, so be it,” the Reform leader declared.

Muslims Set Off 700 Explosions in the Netherlands This Year

Explosions keep going off in the Netherlands. Why? Who knows? Who’s behind it? Let’s not talk about that!

The New York Times devotes an entire article to the subject of bombs going off in the Netherlands while bringing slightly less clarity to the matter than trying to read a Chinese crossword puzzle through a microscope after soaking it in vinegar.

David Emerson: Canada’s Five Frontiers: Time for a Change

Canada, a country with a smaller population than California, features the second-largest land mass in the world, thousands of kilometres of coastal shoreline, water, and natural resources in abundance, and a huge arctic geography where, for over a century, there was minimal predatory interest from other countries. But most Canadians live and earn a living within a few hundred kilometres of the U.S. border. We’ve enjoyed easy prosperity doing business directly or indirectly with Americans, to whom we’ve defaulted to do the heavy lifting on defence and security.
