GUNTER: Canada still hasn’t seen Carney’s promised leadership

The chances of Canada convincing Donald Trump’s White House to reverse his tariffs on a wide range of Canadian goods seems remote. There’s a possibility cases working their way through the U.S. courts will — maybe within the next six to 12 months — find Trump has overstepped his authority to impose tariffs and reverse them.

The EU ‘Elites’- Corruption and Foreign Influence Operations

“The European Union is one of the least corrupt regions in the world,” boasts the European Commission on its website.

Oh really? Let us take a look at the EU organization itself, which — once again –- is at the center of a new corruption scandal.

Belgian police raided more than 20 locations in Belgium and Portugal in March in an investigation of alleged “active corruption within the European Parliament,” for the benefit of China’s tech giant Huawei, according to Belgium’s federal prosecutor’s office. Huawei’s main lobbying office in Brussels was raided, alongside European Parliament offices.

Support for Liberals, Carney unchanged despite no trade deal with U.S.: poll

A new poll finds support for Prime Minister Mark Carney remains unchanged despite not reaching a trade deal with the United States earlier this month.

The Abacus Data poll conducted in the days following the passage of the self-imposed August 1 deadline for a deal with U.S. President Donald Trump shows support for the Liberals remains strong despite signs that the government isn’t doing enough when it comes to the stagnant economy and affordability issues.

America is done with funding Ukraine war, says JD Vance

Washington is “done with the funding” of Ukraine’s war against Russia, JD Vance, the US vice-president, has said, as Europe scrambles to build a united defence before in-person negotiations between Presidents Trump and Putin.

Speaking in an interview after an emergency summit with European and Ukrainian officials, co-hosted by David Lammy at Chevening, the foreign secretary’s mansion in Kent, Vance said Americans were fed up with paying towards the cost of the war.

“What we said to the Europeans is simply, first of all, this is in your neck of the woods. This is in your back door,” he told Fox News. “You guys have got to step up and take a bigger role in this thing. And if you care so much about this conflict, you should be willing to play a more direct and a more substantial way in funding this war yourself, I think the president and I certainly think that America, we’re done with the funding of the Ukraine war business.

Top Tory’s fears for daughters over boat migrants… After a spate of asylum-seeker sex crimes Jenrick blames ‘medieval’ attitudes to women

The small-boats crisis has made British women and girls less safe, Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick warns today.

The top Tory admits he fears for his own three young daughters against a backdrop of illegal migrants with ‘medieval attitudes’ crossing the Channel.

His comments follow a nationwide series of protests by angry parents outside hotels being used to house asylum seekers.

Could cable cars help fix traffic problems in Canada?

Toronto Gondola Transit

What if your daily commute didn’t mean enduring bumper-to-bumper traffic but soaring above it instead?

It sounds like wishful thinking, but in parts of the world, cable cars or gondolas — typically seen at ski resorts or tourist spots — are actually used as public transit, helping people get around in their day-to-day life.

For example, Bogotá, Colombia, relies on the TransMiCable to transport people daily. In Oregon, the Portland Aerial Tram averages 9,000 rides each weekday, while Mi Teléferico in La Paz, Bolivia, has a capacity of as many as 34,000 passengers per hour in each direction.

Fallon Invites Gutfeld on ‘Tonight Show,’ Media Meltdown Ensues

You knew it was coming.

“The Tonight Show” is trying something new – extending an olive branch to the half of the country it wrote off in 2017.

Cue the wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Jimmy Fallon’s low-rated showcase, as liberal as any late-night show in the Trump era but less cruel, announced it would host Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld on Thursday. In a sane world, that’s hardly noteworthy.

Carney says Canada’s trade with U.S. is mostly tariff-free. But that’s not the whole story

It’s become a common refrain when Canadian politicians are asked about retaliatory measures or negotiations in the ongoing trade war: 85 per cent of Canada’s trade with the U.S. is “tariff-free.”

Prime Minister Mark Carney said as much on Tuesday and again on Friday, when pressed for information about his next salvo in the dispute with the U.S. after President Donald Trump imposed 35 per cent tariffs on Canadian goods that aren’t compliant with the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA).

“We’re in a situation right now where 85 per cent of our trade with the United States is tariff-free,” Carney told reporters at a news conference in Trenton, Ont., on Friday.

So no “Elbows” required?

GOLDSTEIN: Report finds antisemitism new normal in many Ontario schools

A federal government report suggests it’s open season on Jewish students in Ontario schools when it comes to being targets of antisemitism.

Equally alarming, it concludes schools and school boards are reluctant to address reports of antisemitism and are simply ignoring many of the complaints – or blaming the victims.

Dr. Phil Destroyed Bill Maher on His Own Show, and It Was Epic

I’ve commended leftist comedian Bill Maher plenty of times in the past for his willingness to call out the radical, woke left, and without a doubt, he deserves that praise because there are very few people on the left willing to say such things. That said, Maher is still a leftist and is wrong on many things. And on the latest episode of his HBO show, “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Dr. Phil called him out to his face, and it was pretty epic.

RCMP union pushes for changes to help attract talent from U.S., other countries

The union representing front-line Royal Canadian Mounted Police members wants the force to ease requirements for foreign applicants to help attract experienced police officers from agencies like the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and counterparts in the United Kingdom and Australia.

The RCMP currently requires that applicants be Canadian citizens or have permanent resident status in Canada. Applicants with permanent resident status must have lived in Canada as a permanent resident for three of the last five years.

Sounds great but face it no one from any western nation will want to take up residence in the shithole state that Canada has become.

My bet is the RCMP will see a boom in applicants from ButtFekistan and Fekbuttistan etc. largely because they’ll be accorded special consideration by our elite.

Netanyahu: Invading Gaza City is the best way to end war

Benjamin Netanyahu said his plan to expand military action in Gaza is “the best way to end the war”.

The Israeli prime minister told a press conference in Jerusalem that he has “no choice” but to “finish the job” and “defeat” Hamas.

While up to three quarters of the territory is currently under Israeli control, Hamas still has strongholds, including Gaza City.
