Study on Racism Reveals White Spaniards Face Most Discrimination

A taxpayer-funded study intended to highlight rising racism in Spain has found that the most discriminated-against group is … white Spaniards.

Despite the Socialist government of prime minister Pedro Sánchez hoping to spotlight the challenges faced by minority groups, the report reveals that the ethnic group reporting the most discrimination is white people of Mediterranean origin.

How Canada Plans to Reach the Long-Elusive NATO Spending Target

What has long seemed unattainable for successive Canadian governments—meeting NATO’s current defence spending guideline—will be reached this year, Prime Minister Mark Carney said.

Increasing the pay for soldiers and repairing existing Canadian Armed Forces equipment are some of the measures being planned to reach the target.

I’ll believe it when I see it and I don’t believe I’ll see it.

Elon Musk hints that explosive fall-out with Trump may be cooling off after prez wishes him well

Tech mogul Elon Musk signaled Monday that his white-hot public feud with President Trump may be starting to cool off.

“We had a great relationship and I wish him well — very well, actually,” Trump told reporters at the White House Monday in a clip reposted by X influencer ALX.

Musk responded by posting a heart emoji, signaling that the former “First Buddy” may no longer have hard feelings after his explosive falling-out with the president last week.

FOURNIER: Gearing down in Ontario

Canada’s automotive sector is cruising for a bruising or perhaps, steaming toward an automotive iceberg. Beyond the immediate threat of a 100% tariff on automobile exports, Canada’s automotive manufacturing sector suffers from declining production and a near total dependence on the United States.

Between 2014 and 2023, Canada’s automotive production fell from 2.4 million to 1.5 million units, while imports increased from $57 billion to $82 billion. Of the 1.5 million automobiles Canada produced in 2023, 88 per cent were exported to the US, leaving the industry highly vulnerable to a shift in American policy.

NYT Puff Piece Celebrates Abortionist Who Sells Baby-Killing Drugs On The Black Market

The providers skirting state laws to prescribe a dangerous and fatal drug certainly don’t deserve an award, much less a fawning article in the New York Times. Yet a glowing profile is exactly what the publication gave Her Safe Harbor (HSH) Founder Debra Lynch, a nurse practitioner who proudly breaks laws to prescribe mail-order abortion pills to women in pro-life states.

The story stemmed from a field trip NYT reporter Pam Belluck took to Lynch’s “home on a quiet residential street” in Delaware. It was there that she observed the day in the life of the woman who, ever since the Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson decision, illegally helps other women end their pregnancies at home alone.

There’s no such thing as the ‘global majority’

It usually feels good to be part of the majority. There’s a sense of safety – and sometimes power – in numbers. However, there are plenty of times when being legion comes with negative connotations. It can also be downright disadvantageous, like supporting Manchester United at the moment or being a BBC licence-fee payer.

We can now add another, somewhat more hefty majority to the list most people wish to avoid being a part of: the so-called global majority.

Michael Higgins: Meeting our NATO target wasn’t that hard after all

Prime Minister Mark Carney is to be applauded for laying out a bold and ambitious vision for Canada’s military.

For too long, Canada has neglected the men and women who serve our country and have allowed the equipment they rely on to protect us and others to badly deteriorate.

It’s just a promise at this point.

Autopen Nation: It’s Bigger Than Biden

I just got a text from Captain Republican. “I am shocked, shocked that the White House is using Autopens.”

Oops! Now I have a text from the Wizard of Woke: “Pay no attention to the male-identifying person behind the curtain.”

Look, never mind that Joe Biden was basically incapable of performing the office of President of the United States, probably from the moment they fixed the South Carolina primary for him in 2020 to keep Bernie Sanders off the Democrat ticket.

LA Rioters Want to Be Feared

One of the oddest sights one can see in Moscow’s Red Square, aside from the artificially preserved and no longer even quite real-looking body of V. I. Lenin, are the tombs of most of the other Communist chiefs of the Soviet Union, all placed in a row outside the Kremlin wall. Joseph Stalin, Leonid Brezhnev, Yuri Andropov and Konstantin Chernenko are there, along with several lesser Soviet officials.

Letter Shows Biden Administration Privately Warned B.C. on Fentanyl Threat Years Before Patel’s Public Bombshells

WASHINGTON — In recent interviews with Joe Rogan and Fox News, FBI Director Kash Patel alleged that Vancouver has become a global hub for fentanyl production and export—part of a transnational network linking Chinese Communist Party-associated suppliers and Mexican drug cartels, and exploiting systemic weaknesses in Canada’s border enforcement. “What they’re doing now … is they’re shipping that stuff not straight [into the United States],” Patel told Rogan, citing classified intelligence. “They’re having the Mexican cartels now make this fentanyl down in Mexico still, but instead of going right up the southern border and into America, they’re flying it into Vancouver. They’re taking the precursors up to Canada, manufacturing it up there, and doing their global distribution routes from up there because we’ve been so effective down south.”

Trump tells France ‘you would be speaking German right now’ if not for America as he touts Army parade

President Donald Trump needled France Tuesday saying ‘you would be speaking German right now’ had it not been for the U.S.’s involvement in World War II, as he again touted Saturday’s Army parade.

‘We’re going to celebrate our country for a change,’ Trump said, expressing frustration that the U.S. hasn’t held military-centric celebrations to mark significant milestones.

Trump then told reporters how he had recently called up France as they were celebrating the World War II victory.

Britain could be heading towards civil war

I used to dismiss fears Britain was headed for open sectarian conflict, possibly even civil war, as overblown. Those expressing such unease were, I suspected, succumbing to their own subconscious cognitive bias and exaggerating the scale of the problem.

After all, does the UK really have the ingredients for such internal strife? We live in an inefficient and messed up society, but not a “failed” one. Taxes are paid, people who want to be are employed, we have abundant food, clothing and energy – at least until Ed Miliband’s climate fanaticism catches up with us. We don’t have America’s gun problem, even if gang violence has become a feature of British life. We have, relative to other developed nations, successfully integrated migrants in large numbers.

ALBERS: What do we have to show for Carney’s first six weeks? Nothing good…

By any honest account — emphasis on honest, not the government-approved press release variety — Mark Carney has now sat in the Prime Minister’s chair for over forty days.

Forty days — not in the biblical sense of trial and transformation — but in the Kafka-esque sense of scripted announcements, symbolic gestures, and legislative landmines. Carney, Canada’s investment banker turned political shepherd, has worked diligently to emulate his idol — Donald Trump, of all people — though lacking the charisma, disruption, or delivery.

The results? Let us count the disappointments.

Could we see Olivia Chow vs. John Tory in next year’s Toronto mayoral race? Here’s what it might look like

Is Toronto heading for an ultimate mayor showdown in 2026 between Mayor Olivia Chow and former mayor John Tory? A contest between the two would be unlike any election we’ve seen in Toronto’s post-amalgamation history.

You may balk at that, since we’ve literally seen a contest between these two before. In 2014, Chow entered the mayoral race as the front-runner, and Tory was the eventual winner, while Doug Ford — now the premier who lords his power over all mayors — stood between them.
