Is it now a crime to make fun of Hezbollah terrorists?

Causing offence to Islamist extremists can now land you in a police cell.

The recent arrest of a Jewish man for holding a placard mocking Hezbollah’s now deceased leader, Hassan Nasrallah, has triggered outrage. It has also raised serious questions about the Metropolitan Police’s approach to policing protests in London, particularly those involving extremist or anti-Semitic elements.

Abbotsford school division asks former teacher to move location of book launch to avoid ‘intimidating’ indigenous students

A former teacher has been asked by the Abbotsford School District to change the location of his book launch, which was set to take place outside MJ Mouat High School on Friday afternoon.

Officials told Jim McMurtry that the event was “intimidating” indigenous students, given that his book, The Scarlet Lesson, goes against the prevailing narrative on residential schools in Canada.

“State Sponsored Antisemitism”

Avi Benlolo: The Jewish community is under attack — will you stand with us?

This past week, The Abraham Global Peace Initiative hosted a powerful and inspiring gala at Toronto’s historic Casa Loma. The keynote speaker, former Israeli UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan, addressed a sold-out crowd made up of proud Canadians — many of them children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors. They gathered to counter hate, intolerance and to promote human rights and peace in the Middle East. But outside, a dangerous scene unfolded: a mob of radicalized agitators, emboldened and hateful, hurled slurs and threats at our guests simply for being Jewish.

He’s not wrong about the attitude of government in Canada at all levels and he’s also right about the media but that brag about helping Syrians is not the flex he thinks it is.

I’m sorry but helping to import Muslims is a virtue signal too far. Thanks for nothin there Avi.

I liked the old Canada better, the pre- 3rd World version, the one without Islamists.

Paris Is Still Beautiful — From Behind Bulletproof Glass

Yes, the French capital has culture. It also has stabbings, riots, and a rising body count.

Culture is more than galleries and symphonies. It’s not just what hangs on a wall or flickers on a stage — it’s what pulses through the streets. How people live. How they treat each other. What they tolerate, and what they won’t. Culture is everything from high art to street-level ethics. From cathedrals to crime scenes.

That’s why the word itself is so slippery. You can interpret it a hundred ways. A canvas. A riot. A prayer. A protest. Paris is a masterclass in that ambiguity.

Local feral not guilty of murdering homeless man she helped stabbed to death – gets off with manslaughter

Girl accused of fatally stabbing Kenneth Lee in swarming case not guilty of murder

The teen girl accused of stabbing Kenneth Lee to death is not guilty of murder, a Superior Court judge has ruled.

The girl, who was 14 at the time, is guilty of manslaughter — a lesser offence she pleaded to at the outset of her trial in February. That admission was rejected by Crown prosecutors as they pursued the murder conviction.

Justice Philip Campbell’s decision Friday afternoon means none of the eight girls charged with swarming 59-year-old Lee will be found to have actually been the one to fatally stab him.

‘Secret’ memo reveals how Canada’s refusal to join missile system in 2005 hurt our reputation

Canada’s armed forces are ready for emergency pronoun deployment under battlefield conditions.

OTTAWA — A “secret” memo from the Department of National Defence last year said Canada’s 2005 decision not to join the U.S. ballistic missile defence system harmed the country’s reputation as a security partner and could make it harder to participate in the AUKUS military collaboration between Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The memo also raised Canada’s long-standing failure to meet its defence spending commitments with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization as “the elephant in the room” that has raised doubts about whether Canada is willing to pull its weight for international security.

Diaspora Jews under siege

(JNS) Traveling in America over the past three weeks to speak about my new book, I found a Jewish community in shock, bewilderment and, after the murderous attack last week on a young couple outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., gripped by rising fear.

Some of the most poignant reactions came from liberals who, on Oct. 7, 2023, had been mugged by a sickening reality. Their belief in achieving harmony between Israelis and Palestinian Arabs—a badge of their liberal identity—had been shattered by the barbaric and depraved attacks mounted upon Israelis that day by the people of Gaza.

… It’s why the most “progressive” countries—Britain, Canada and Australia—are the most viciously hostile to Israel. It’s rank, murderous, racist bigotry, all in the name of conscience and justice.

Terry Newman: Profs call out their association for left-wing mayhem

Some Canadian academics are accusing the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) of straying from its core mission of advocating for academic rights and fair working conditions to pursuing a politicized agenda that undermines its fundamental purpose. Specifically, they accuse CAUT of — issuing an unsubstantiated U.S. travel advisory, producing a likely skewed academic freedom report with soon-to-be added anti-Israel rhetoric, and encouraging administrative overreach into equity-based hiring that risks faculty autonomy — betraying its founding principles.

Why Is the Trump Administration Selling Weapons to the World’s Leading State Sponsor of Terrorism?

“[US] colleges and universities have accepted $6.25 billion from Qatar since 2001. However, Qatar’s total spending likely exceeds that figure… Qatar is a major exporter of Islamist ideology, which it amplifies on the Qatar-owned Al Jazeera network. By pumping money into the American higher education system and across the United States, Qatar avoids scrutiny as it advances hostile ideologies.” — Natalie Ecanow, of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, in testimony to the Texas Legislature House Committee on Homeland Security, Public Safety & Veterans’ Affairs, April 2, 2025.

PBS Host Invokes ‘1984’ and Mussolini To Urge Harvard Grads To Resist Trump

CNN and PBS host Christiane Amanpour stopped by the Harvard Kennedy School on Wednesday to deliver what was billed as a commencement address, but was really just a plea for the graduates to find the courage to fight back against nameless forces—but understood to be President Trump and people who support him—who are pushing America into a 1984 or Mussolinian state of affairs.

Autonomous robots take to GTA sidewalks in food delivery pilot

Autonomous delivery robots are rolling along sidewalks in Markham, Ont., turning heads and dropping off food as part of a new pilot project that could pave the way for expansion across the country.

The three-month project involves four delivery bots equipped with insulated compartments that can carry nearly 60 kilograms of food. The bots are outfitted with a screen that displays friendly facial expressions, designed to navigate sidewalks and deliver meals within a two-kilometre radius of participating restaurants.

And just where will all the Doctors and Nurses of the Temporary foreign workers cohort go to find work?
