Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs took drugs ‘every day’ including Obama-shaped ecstasy pills, ex-assistant says

Sean “Diddy” Combs took drugs “every day” — including sometimes downing Obama-shaped ecstasy pills, his ex-personal assistant told jurors Tuesday.

“There were various pills, but one was in the form of a former president’s face,” Combs’ one-time personal assistant, David James, said in Manhattan federal court, of the types of ecstasy pills he saw his boss take.

“Which former president?” prosecutor Christy Slavik asked.

Big streamers argue at CRTC hearing they shouldn’t have Canadian content obligations

A group representing major foreign streaming companies told a hearing held by Canada’s broadcasting regulator on Friday that those companies shouldn’t be expected to fulfil the same responsibilities as traditional broadcasters when it comes to Canadian content.

The Motion Picture Association-Canada, which represents large streamers like Netflix, Paramount, Disney and Amazon, said the regulator should be flexible in modernizing its definition of Canadian content.

What the hell is CanCon nowadays? A Bollywood extravaganza? 24/7 Mosque prayer coverage? Imported blood feud Tuesdays? Pogrom of the week? Hate Whitey Marathons?

Why Iran ‘cannot turn back time’ on public hijab rule

Iranian women increasingly resist the public headscarf rule. Despite ongoing repression, Iran’s regime seems powerless to stop social change.

“The state’s current policy on the issue of the hijab is not to follow strict rules,” Ali Motahari, a conservative Iranian politician, told journalists last week on the fringes of the International Book Fair in Tehran.

He added that the police should only intervene in the event of gross violations.

“You have to know that even at the time of the Shah, before the 1979 revolution, women were arrested if they did not dress decently in public,” he said. Wearing a hijab, or headscarf, remains mandatory in Iran.

Mark Carney is ignoring the cartels – and Donald Trump

The cartels have switched from the Mexican border to the Canadian border

Donald Trump has declared war on the cartels. The southern border is now patrolled by the military, the wall is rapidly expanding and US intelligence is helping to target crime bosses on Mexican soil. Illegal crossings and drug seizures at key points have dropped by more than 70 percent in the last year.

But, contrary to appearances, the cartels have not surrendered – instead, they have pivoted, applying Sun Tzu’s principle: attack your enemy’s weaknesses, not his strengths.

Led by the blood-soaked and ultra violent Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation Cartel they are exploiting the soft 5,525-mile long northern border with Canada and its sparse surveillance, dense forests, inadequately staffed crossings and neglected checkpoints.

The usual suspects will be making profit from policy no doubt.

‘We have imported knife violence’ – Wave of knife attacks shakes Germany once again

“We have imported knife violence. In other cultures, the knife is a kind of status symbol”

Another wave of knife attacks has hit Germany, showing that not much has changed despite the many lost lives and Germans maimed in knife attacks. In fact, the statistics show that these crimes are even getting worse, with 79 knife attacks per day now recorded. A German criminal lawyer warns that Germany has “imported knife violence,” in response to growing blade crimes.

In the last few days, headlines include Kosovar man arrested after knife attack in Germany injures three, including 12-year-old girl” “Man stabbed half to death on basketball court,” “Manhunt continues after Syrian asylum seeker stabs 5 outside student bar in Bielefeld,” and “Rioter injures police officer with knife.”

Land Acknowledgements: Either Give the Land Back or Stop Saying It’s Stolen

In response to Donald Trump’s various insults, threats, and tariffs, we have apparently never been prouder to be Canadian. Why, I flew a “God Save The King” flag on the Victoria Day long weekend and nobody threw a rock. Unless you count the Governor General, presenting the “Award of Merit” to various police persons on behalf of the King, recently throwing “We are gathered today on the traditional, unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg Nation” through the stained glass. Congratulations to you brave, noble social workers with sidearms enforcing settler colonialism. Brings a tear to your eye, doesn’t it?

Canada wants to join Golden Dome missile-defence program, Trump says

Donald Trump says Canada has asked to join the missile-defence program his administration is building, adding a new chapter to a long-running cross-border saga.

The U.S. president dropped that news in the Oval Office on Tuesday as he unveiled the initial plans for a three-year, $175 billion US project to build a multi-purpose missile shield he’s calling the Golden Dome.

“Canada has called us and they want to be a part of it,” Trump said. “They want to hook in and they want to be a part of it.”

Canada should rid itself of all weaponry and disband its armed forces to protest Israel’s Gaza incursion!

On Monday, Canada issued a joint communique with France and the United Kingdom on Israel’s latest military operation in Gaza. “We will not stand by while the Netanyahu Government pursues these egregious actions,” it read. “If Israel does not cease the renewed military offensive and lift its restrictions on humanitarian aid, we will take further concrete actions.” In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clapped back that “the leaders in London, Ottawa and Paris are offering a huge prize for the genocidal attack on Israel on October 7 while inviting more such atrocities.”

BRADLEY: The ostriches in the coal mine

If you want a litmus test for how broken Canada’s institutions are, look no further than British Columbia’s latest disgrace: the impending state-sanctioned slaughter of hundreds of ostriches.

In a stunning act of bureaucratic brutality, the B.C. government — with the blessing of the courts — has decided that mass extermination is preferable to negotiation, relocation, or even basic common sense. Their justification? A single bird tested positive for avian flu. Their method? Shotguns. Their message? Obey, or be erased.
