Avi Lewis: Canada has a moral obligation to support South Africa’s genocide case against Israel

Avi Lewis is a filmmaker, associate professor at the University of British Columbia, and member of the Jewish Faculty Network and Independent Jewish Voices.

In the dying days of 2023, a group of prominent Israelis sent a letter to Israel’s Attorney General.

In 11 pages, it documented “extensive and blatant” cases of incitement to genocide in Gaza from Israel’s political and media class. And it demanded that the country’s judiciary do something to stop it.

Is Avi dumb or what?

Oh Canada: Police Warn that Posting Images of Thieves May Violate Their Privacy Rights

While Canada eviscerates the right to free speech and association, some are apparently holding firm on the privacy rights of accused felons to warn homeowners not to post videos of thefts.

In Quebec, the police are now warning citizens not to post their doorbell videos of package thieves because they are, in the words of the spokesmen, “presumed innocent.”

New Ontario Catholic curriculum not perverted enough say perversion advocates

New Ontario Catholic curriculum homophobic and transphobic, advocates say

Advocates warn a new Ontario Catholic school curriculum for family life education, set to be taught in the fall, has homophobic and transphobic undertones.

“It’s a really concerning curriculum,” Kyle Iannuzzi, a member of the 2SLBGTQ+ Advisory Committee(opens in a new tab) within the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB), told CTV News Toronto.

The new curriculum encompasses topics such as relationships, family structures, as well as sexual education and health. Of particular issue to Iannuzzi is the focus on marriage being an act between a man and a woman and that individuals live within their male and female body.

Trannies do not belong in the curriculum or the schools or anywhere near children.

Toronto police lay ‘unprecedented’ hate crime charge, say man allegedly held ‘terrorist flag’ at protest

Al Quds Day – Queen’s Park Toronto

A Toronto man has been charged with public incitement of hatred after police allege he held a “terrorist flag” during a demonstration last weekend.

Police say the 41-year-old man allegedly waved a flag of “an organization listed as a terrorist group by Public Safety Canada” while marching through the city’s downtown on Sunday.

Speaking at a Toronto Police Services Board meeting Thursday, police Chief Myron Demkiw called the charge “unprecedented,” noting the “very high threshold” to charge anyone with a hate propaganda offence.

I asked a TPS officer one Al Quds Day if waving the Hezbollah flag met the hate crime threshhold. He responded it did not as it was a matter of “Free Speech.”

Donald Trump’s savior complex

The Church of Trump is broad and you don’t have to be a true believer to join

Donald Trump has dominated Republican politics for so long that it can be hard to remember the time when he did not. It’s easy to forget that at the beginning of 2016 he started the Republican primary process by losing the Iowa caucuses to Ted Cruz, his more conservative rival.

“He stole it,” Trump tweeted afterwards, graceful as ever in defeat. “The State of Iowa should disqualify Ted Cruz from the most recent election on the basis that he cheated — a total fraud!” Trump went on to stun the world, of course, by winning the Republican nomination, then the White House. American politics would never be the same again.

Wild Trump Smears on PBS: ‘Ethnic Cleansing, Genocide, Holocaust. This Is a Real Threat’

Journalist Tim Alberta is author of The Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory: American Evangelicals in an Age of Extremism, a book touted as the author’s “deeply personal examination of the divisions that threaten to destroy the American evangelical movement.” He’s been making the rounds of friendly liberal media outlets lamenting fear-based evangelical Christian loyalty to Donald Trump, and his Friday stop at PBS’s Firing Line With Margaret Hoover may have been his most over the top excoriation of all.

Is Qatar, That Built Hamas’s Empire of Terrorism, An Honest Broker?

The Biden administration is evidently continuing to pretend that Qatar, the Gulf state that funds and sponsors Hamas, is an honest broker in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Qatar, in addition to the billions of dollars it has been pouring on Hamas, is still hosting several leaders of Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist terror group, whose members, on October 7, 2023, beheaded, raped, tortured, burned alive more than 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped hundreds more.

Not only is Qatar far from being a neutral mediator, it is massively biased in favor of Hamas and other Islamist terror groups, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria.

Prince Harry faces backlash over being named to ‘Living Legend of Aviation’ Hall of Fame, which features Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin

Prince Harry has been named a “living legend” and will be inducted into an aviation Hall of Fame, which already features iconic names including Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong.

According to author Omid Scobie, who penned the controversial book “Endgame” released in November, the star-studded ceremony will see the Duke of Sussex be honored in Beverly Hills on January 19.

Scobie wrote on X, “Prince Harry is to be inducted into the Living Legends of Aviation Hall of Fame, joining other aviators who have made “significant contributions in the aerospace industry.”

I have no wish to denigrate his war service but no he does not qualify as a legend.
