Israel Plans to Kill Hamas Leaders Around the World After War

TEL AVIV—Israel’s intelligence services are preparing to kill Hamas leaders around the world when the nation’s war in the Gaza Strip winds down, setting the stage for a yearslong campaign to hunt down militants responsible for the Oct. 7 massacres, Israeli officials said.

With orders from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s top spy agencies are working on plans to hunt down Hamas leaders living in Lebanon, Turkey and Qatar, the small Gulf nation that has allowed the group to run a political office in Doha for a decade, the officials said.

Pressure grows on Harry and Meghan as William demands ‘action’ on Scobie racism allegations

Harry and Meghan are facing a mounting backlash as they continue to maintain their silence on royal racism claims made by their ‘mouthpiece’ Omid Scobie in his new book.

The couple are yet to speak on the book publicly and a meeting between King Charles and Prince William is now set to take place next week to discuss the topic.

It could have serious consequences for Harry and Meghan as William is believed to ‘want action’ after his wife Kate was named alongside Charles as the two royals who expressed ‘concern’ about Archie’s skin colour.

Barbara Kay: Silenced teacher becomes a hero of the anti-woke resistance

The most inspirational hero stories are about people who never aspired to the role, and never dreamed that heroism was their destiny.

Carolyn Burjoski, a lifetime resident of Kitchener, Ont., was, until her world flipped upside down almost two years ago, content in the ordinary life she had chosen. She loves her husband, her three daughters and three grandchildren. And for 20 years, she had found fulfillment in teaching English as a second language, most gratifyingly to children with education gaps from war-torn countries.

Can Hamas really be ‘eliminated’?

The EU’s top diplomat Josep Borrell offered a provocative insight into the nature of Hamas this week. Speaking at the Union of the Mediterranean Forum, Borrell said that: ‘Hamas is not merely a group of individuals but an unkillable idea and ideology.’ This view is a worrying one for Israel as it seeks, in the words of Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to ‘eliminate’ Hamas. But what if Borell is right that Hamas cannot be destroyed?

EV Owners Waking Up to the Nightmare of Massive Repair Bills

“Sticker shock” has taken on a whole new meaning when new electric vehicle owners get their first repair bill following a simple fender bender. The Wall Street Journal reports that a San Francisco resident got in a minor accident with his electric truck. He thought that repairs would be “a couple-thousand-dollar bill from the repair shop and to be without his truck for a couple of weeks.”

Instead, the first-time EV owner was shocked to get a $22,000 bill for repairs that took 2 1/2 months.

Cop28 president says there is ‘no science’ behind demands for phase-out of fossil fuels

The president of Cop28, Sultan Al Jaber, has claimed there is “no science” indicating that a phase-out of fossil fuels is needed to restrict global heating to 1.5C, the Guardian and the Centre for Climate Reporting can reveal.

Al Jaber also said a phase-out of fossil fuels would not allow sustainable development “unless you want to take the world back into caves”.

The comments were “incredibly concerning” and “verging on climate denial”, scientists said, and they were at odds with the position of the UN secretary general, António Guterres.

Liberals say it makes sense for CBC to get Google funds

Heritage Minister Pascale St-Onge says it would be within the spirit of the government’s digital news law if CBC/Radio-Canada were to receive money from Google — but suggested its share of the $100-million fund may be capped.

In an interview on Rosemary Barton Live airing Sunday, St-Onge said the deal was “mainly and mostly about written press” but that broadcasters like CBC/Radio-Canada also had digital written news and could be included.

“I think it’s important to respect the principle that for these tech giants, public broadcaster’s news must also have value” because of the advertising benefits Google receives, she told CBC chief political correspondent Rosemary Barton.

Jesuit Priest Declares Donald Trump an Antichrist

“Authoritarian leaders are the antichrists of our time.”

Left-wing Jesuit priest Thomas Reese has just accused former President Donald Trump of being a form of the “antichrist.” Ordinarily, Reese spouts opinions and ideas more inane than those held by the oft-caricatured tin-foil-hat-wearing conspiracy theorist but with a progressive bent almost comical in its extremity.

The Cybertruck is a dud

The Cybertruck is here. Finally. Maybe. Sort of.

Thursday was the “Cybertruck Delivery Event,” where they finally rolled off the production line and were handed over to waiting customers. Musk served as chaperone, host and speaker, and the event was a hype-fest for fanboys. As the presentation started, it was hard to tell whether some in the crowd were shouting “Elon” or “hallelujah” (I think the latter). He presented a polished marketing video, markedly sparse on specs, but promised that the Cybertruck was one of those rare products that change how we see the world; that it is “more truck than truck,” while also being “a better sports car than a sports car” and the best product Tesla had ever made.

It’s not.

Amid rising antisemitism, the view for Jews in Canada looks bleak – opinion

Over the last month and a half, Jews around the world have gotten incredible clarity on the status of global antisemitism.

The view from Canada is chilling. Massive pro-Palestinian and even pro-Hamas protests feature thousands of furious people calling unequivocally for genocide – the extermination of Israel “from the river to the sea.”

NBC Mourns Hollywood’s Anti-Semites Are Facing Consequences

NBC’s entertainment correspondent Chloe Melas intended to do a report on how people on both sides of Hollywood’s Israel-Hamas War debate are facing blowback for their opinions for Saturday’s edition of Today. However, what she actually ended up doing was lamenting that Hollywood’s anti-Semites are facing consequences for their actions by making false equivalency between Holocaust distortion and false accusations of genocide by Israel with Israel supporters comparing Hamas to ISIS.

Ukraine: The Decimation Point

Thirsting for a bit of good news in these bad times of war, Ukraine’s media headlined what it saw as a victory: The return to Kiev of a haul of artefacts from Crimea that had been on exhibit in European cities before Russia annexed the peninsula in 2014.

The return came after a ten-year legal battle in which Russia claimed that it should receive the artefacts because they were made before the 1950s when the then Soviet ruler Nikita Khrushchev “handed Crimea over to Ukraine.” Ukraine counter-argued that the artefacts were loaned to a Dutch museum before Russian President Vladimir Putin’s troops annexed Crimea.

Well, in every war even the tiniest bit of good news could help divert attention, even momentarily, from bigger bad news.
