Maher: ‘Sanctuary City Hypocrite‘ Dems Got Their Bluff Called

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher stated that Republicans who bused migrants to sanctuary cities “called the Democrats’ bluff about sanctuary cities,” and the Democrats “look like sanctuary city hypocrites” and “I understand a little, I told you so from the people on the border.”

High cost of living dragging down Armed Forces morale, chaplain general warns

Military chaplains are seeing an increasing number of soldiers, sailors and aircrew who — squeezed by the high cost of living and stuck in a system that forces them to relocate — are in financial distress and seeking assistance.

That disturbing assessment is found in the latest report to Chief of the Defence Staff Gen. Wayne Eyre from Canadian Forces Chaplain General Brig.-Gen. Guy Bélisle. A copy of the report was obtained by CBC News.

The report found that military morale is flagging for a variety of reasons.

A nuclear war could “sometimes happen”

An analysis of Israel’s doctrinal imperatives.

“The worst does sometimes happen.” – Friedrich Durrenmatt, Swiss playwright

In separate but interdependent parts of the world, a nuclear war is conceivable and more-or-less probable. Nonetheless, ascertaining any precise or usable hierarchy of probabilities would be impossible. In logic and science, such judgments are indeterminable for unique events.

Always.

Chrystia Freeland Must Account For Her Nazi Collaborator Grandfather

Chrystia Freeland, the member of parliament for University—Rosedale and former minister of foreign affairs, is a political star. In the last year alone, she has been promoted to deputy prime minister, and in the wake of the WE Charity scandal, to finance minister. There’s no indication her ascent will stop any time soon. Few would be surprised to see her eventually become the leader of the federal Liberal Party.

With that in mind, it’s important that Freeland, like all other politicians, is held to account for her troubling decisions and views. Thus far, however, Freeland has managed to avoid any serious scrutiny for something that has been career altering for politicians in other countries. That, of course, is her response to the fact that her grandfather, Michael Chomiak (Mykhailo Khomiak), was a Nazi collaborator. Rather than owning up to and condemning his past, she concocted conspiracy theories that shifted attention elsewhere and smeared those that brought the issue to light.

This is an older post dating from the time the Freeland Granpa story broke. Yes it has a leftist agenda but offers among other insights how left and right Ukraine organizations were treated by the government during the cold war era.  Not to mention Freeland’s efforts to suppress the story.

I received a number of emails from an unknown source prior to the Freeland Granpa story going mainstream however they all linked to a very sketchy site that reduced whatever credibilty the information had. Pity I chose not to run with it. The article is worth a read.

Knife Crime: A Black Not White Issue

“Britain is the best country to be black in” Business Secretary Kemi Badenoch confidently informed the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester this Tuesday. Is she right? Perhaps, and then again perhaps not, particularly if you’re a black adolescent living in London. I can certainly think of a number of black teenagers, senselessly slain within the last week, whose families might disagree with her.

As Manhattan Installs ‘Noise Cameras’ To Crack Down on Loud Cars, Critics Fret Initiative Will ‘Punish People of Color’

The New York City borough of Manhattan is quietly installing “noise detectors” that will target loud vehicles and result in their drivers being issued with fines. Yet the advent of this new technology is raising the concerns of some social justice advocates who fear the noise detectors will “punish people of color,” as a recent article in the Guardian put it.

I am all for the city of Toronto installing these.

We have far too many idiots.

Google just got even more unhappy with the Trudeau government — and closer to wiping Canadian news from its search results

OTTAWA—Google says the draft plan to implement Ottawa’s fraught online news law worsens rather than calms its concerns about the legislation, as the clock ticks on the global web giant’s threat to wipe Canadian news from its search engine.

“Unfortunately, while well intended, the act is built upon a fundamentally flawed premise yielding an unworkable framework and process that the regulations unfortunately do not remedy — and in certain instances, exacerbate,” the company’s submission to the federal government reads.

FBI knew all about Joe and Hunter’s business dealings, laptop authenticity — and did nothing: files

Within several days of The New York Post breaking its blockbuster 2020 story on Hunter Biden’s laptop, the FBI received a flash drive containing emails and text messages from the cellphones of one of Hunter’s business partners, confirming the contents of Hunter’s computer were real and not “disinformation,” as the FBI led social media and the public to believe.

‘We’re barely making it’: Eight Canadians reveal the pain of soaring mortgage costs

In July, 2020, Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem assured Canadian households that borrowing rates were very low and would stay that way “for a very long time.”

And by all appearances, it looked like he would be right. The economy was in shambles amid widespread shutdowns and sky-high unemployment because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many turned to government financial supports to afford basic necessities and keep businesses afloat. Inflation remained low.

Rapists wrongly labelled as ‘women’ by police

Police have wrongly labelled hundreds of suspected rapists as women, The Telegraph can reveal – despite the Home Secretary saying they should not do so.

Figures obtained under the Freedom of Information (FoI) Act show for the first time the scale of police adopting the self-declared gender of alleged sex attackers.

Over the past four years, police forces have referred 260 “females” to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to consider a charge of rape.
