What will Trudeau’s new National Security Council actually do?

In a government lacking geopolitical acumen or vision, few details have been provided.

On Sept. 27, without fanfare, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced changes to cabinet committees, one of which was the establishment of a National Security Council (NSC). This should have been a big deal, built on fulsome public information about the role, composition and structure of this centrally important body, but the announcement was reduced to an uninspiring debut, saying only that the NSC would be “a forum for strategic decision-making and for sharing analysis of intelligence in its strategic context.”

Psychotic liar Trudeau says he never suggested those worried about ‘parental rights’ are hateful

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he never suggested that individuals concerned about their rights as parents were hateful when he issued a statement in response to the thousands who attended recent protests about “gender ideology” in schools.

Speaking to reporters today at a housing announcement in Vaughan, Ont., Trudeau said the post he issued Sept. 20 on X, the platform previously known as Twitter, was about taking a stand for the LGBTQ+ community.

Homelessness Explodes In Canada As Rents, Housing Prices Soar

Canada is gripped by a surge in homelessness that has seen tens of thousands of people priced out of rental and real estate markets and left to live in the streets of the wealthy nation.

Researchers warn government data is vastly underestimating the number of homeless across the country, as the social ill spreads from major cities to small towns.

In Quebec, one in two homeless people can be found in rural parts of the eastern province, instead of mainly in Montreal as had been the case in the past, according to a new report published in September.

Roanoke College women’s swim team captains reveal ‘demoralizing’ struggle to try and convince trans student not to compete on their squad

Real live girls! Not the fake Justin Trudeau approved kind.

A group of elite women swimmers at a Virginia university are demanding urgent action to protect their sport, after a transgender student joined their team, leaving the coaches and athletes ‘demoralized’, angry, and unsure how to cope.

The trans student informed staff at Roanoke College in September that she wished to swim on the women’s team, after sitting out the previous season while transitioning. The year before, the trans swimmer had competed in the men’s team.

Trump’s NATO Warning Comes Back to Bite Ukraine

Speakers at a European security conference on Tuesday warned that Ukraine’s allies are running out of ammunition to give to Kyiv in its war against Russia.

One thread of these discussions at the Warsaw Security Forum was the need for NATO members to increase defense spending, an argument Donald Trump made years ago about the military alliance.

Speaking at a NATO summit in 2017, then-President Trump criticized NATO countries for not devoting more money to their defense spending. NATO members agreed in 2014 to use 2 percent of their gross domestic product (GDP) on defense, but at the time of Trump’s remarks, only the United States and a few other NATO allies had met the goal.

Toronto can get much shittier, count on it

Video of police taking down person who stole their bike has people worrying about Toronto

It could be the cost of living and housing crisis, the lack of mental health care (or any healthcare), the side effects of months of lockdown, or the compounded weight of a number of pressing issues in Toronto, but people in the city do not seem okay lately — like, even less okay than usual.

Certificate to own car in Singapore rockets to $106,000

To own a car in Singapore, a buyer must bid for a certificate that now costs more than $106,000 (S$145,000), equivalent to four Toyota Camry Hybrids in the US, as a post-pandemic recovery has driven up the cost of the country’s vehicle quota system to all-time highs.

Singapore has a 10-year “certificate of entitlement” (COE) system, introduced in 1990, to control the number of vehicles in the small city-state, which is home to 5.9 million people and can be driven across in less than an hour.

John Tory broke ethic rules over relationship with Bimbo & 2026 World Cup vote: report

Former Toronto mayor John Tory broke city council’s code of conduct when he had a relationship with a woman that started when she was a junior subordinate in his office, the integrity commissioner has found.

In a report released Thursday, Jonathan Batty finds that Tory, who resigned in February after the Star revealed his relationship with the young woman, breached two articles of the code of conduct.

Tory “failed to observe the terms of the Human Resources Management and Ethical Framework” for council members staff, Batty found in a 122-page report.

That world cup scam should be trashed. It was a bad deal for the city which leaves tax payers on the hook for for any losses incurred by the Bimbo’s employer MLSE.

Donald Trump Followers Targeted by FBI as 2024 Election Nears

The federal government believes that the threat of violence and major civil disturbances around the 2024 U.S. presidential election is so great that it has quietly created a new category of extremists that it seeks to track and counter: Donald Trump’s army of MAGA followers.

The challenge for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the primary federal agency charged with law enforcement, is to pursue and prevent what it calls domestic terrorism without direct reference to political parties or affiliations—even though the vast majority of its current “anti-government” investigations are of Trump supporters, according to classified data obtained by Newsweek.

Trudeau lied about how much Montana holiday cost taxpayers

Trudeau’s Montana holiday cost taxpayers much more than reported

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Easter weekend vacation in Montana cost taxpayers nearly a quarter of a million dollars, CBC News has learned — far more than the sum reported to Parliament.

The price tag for the April 6-10 trip comes to more than $228,839 once the costs carried by the Canadian Armed Forces, the Privy Council Office and the RCMP are included.

That sum does not include the regular salaries of the RCMP officers tasked with protecting the prime minister, the Royal Canadian Air Force aircrew or the Privy Council official who normally accompanies the prime minister with the equipment needed to communicate securely.
