Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly has launched a United Nations declaration that calls for action to protect what it calls “information integrity” and to tackle “disinformation.”

Ms. Joly launched the declaration jointly with the Netherlands’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Hanke Bruins Slot, during the U.N. General Assembly in New York on Sept. 20.

Pope Francis in Marseille: A Guilty Blindness

There is a yawning gap between the irenic aspirations defended by the Pope and the painful day-to-day reality of European citizens who have to absorb the migratory flow.

Pope Francis has just completed a few days’ visit to Marseille for the third “Rencontres Méditerranéennes”. The aim of this mediatised visit was for the Pope to promote an unconditional welcome for migrants—a highly political message that was not always well received.

Pope Francis had announced his intentions ahead of his visit: he was coming “to Marseille, not to France.” It was a way for him to emphasise that he was not coming for a simple protocol visit to meet French Catholics and their leaders—in which case he would certainly have gone to Paris—but that he intended to place the Mediterranean, the site of the migratory battle in Europe, at the centre of his communication.

Harry Potter panel axed from London Comic Con to keep transgender fans ‘safe’

A Harry Potter panel has been axed from one of the country’s largest pop culture festivals to keep transgender fans “safe”.

Producers from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child were booked to attend London Comic Con to discuss how the stage show was made behind the scenes.

But the transgender charity Switchboard complained to organisers that it had “concerns about the potential impact on our community, particularly trans individuals”.

ISIS Bitch bringing government to court over decision not to repatriate her from Syria

Quebec mother bringing government to court over decision not to repatriate her from Syria

A Quebec mother of six who is being held in Syria is bringing the government to court over its decision not to repatriate her to Canada.

The woman and her children are among many foreign nationals being held in Kurdish-run camps for suspected ISIS members and their families.

The government agreed previously to repatriate the children but decided earlier this year not to repatriate the mother, citing security concerns.

Target to close nine stores across four states because of theft and crime

Target Corp. will shutter nine stores across four states on Oct. 21 because of theft and crime, the company announced Tuesday.

Target said it made the “difficult decision” to close the stores — which include locations in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City, Seattle, Portland and the San Francisco Bay Area — after the Minneapolis-based company tried ineffective theft-preventive measures. The company tried adding more security, including third-party guards, and used theft deterrents like locking up merchandise.

National Muslim Group Asks Trudeau to Apologize for ‘Inflammatory’ Comment on Parents’ Rights Protest

A pan-Canadian Muslim group is asking Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and others to retract and apologize for their comments made with respect to the March for Children on Sept. 20, saying they used their influence to “unjustly demonize families” and “alienate countless students.”

The Muslim Association of Canada issued a statement on the platform X on Sept. 25, saying it “strongly condemns remarks on recent protests made by certain politicians, including our Prime Minister, as well as statements from school boards, unions, and reports from some media outlets.”

This is hilarious. The Muslim Brotherhood is demanding Trudeau apologize. I wonder if Junior’s Islamophobia Tsar will demand he resign.

Here’s what really happened when Canada shut down Roxham Road

New rules brought in this year to stem the tide of irregular migrants at spots such as Quebec’s Roxham Road have changed who is coming to Canada to seek asylum and how they are getting here, a Star analysis reveals.

The shift in patterns, critics contend, means that some of the most vulnerable refugees are being excluded from Canada’s asylum protection.

Meloni Slams Germany for Funding Pro-Migrant NGOs

Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni has sent a letter to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stating that she was “astonished” by Berlin’s recently announced initiative to finance pro-migration NGOs operating in the Mediterranean and in southern Italy, accusing him of deepening the crisis instead of cooperating to solve it, Il Giornale reported on Monday, September 25th.

Meloni’s complaint was sent to Berlin after Germany’s social-democratic government announced last Friday that it would finance two NGOs—including the rescue charity SOS Humanity—with up to €790,000 each to continue and expand their work.

Is the idea of Khalistan, a Sikh homeland, still alive?

India and Canada have engaged in tit-for-tat diplomatic expulsions as part of an intensifying row over the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Sikh separatist, on Canadian soil.

The 45-year-old came to Canada as a refugee decades ago and had since became a Canadian citizen. He was an ardent advocate of establishing a sovereign state of Khalistan, a Sikh homeland in India’s Punjab region.

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claims that Indian agents were involved in the murder of Nijjar. India dismissed the allegations as “absurd.” However, Indian officials view Nijjar as a terrorist, a member of the banned Khalistan Commando Force, whom India links to targeted killings of various political and religious figures.

It is in Canada thanks to Justin and Jagmeet.

Politico repackages the Waffen-SS veteran honored by Zelensky and Trudeau with a more palatable label: ‘Nazi-linked’

If you’re Yaroslav Hunka, you can have fought for a division implicated in war crimes and commanded by literal Nazis, but the marketing team at the leftwing outlet Politico will repackage and sell you as a “veteran accused” and “Nazi-linked,” and you can safely assume that the publication’s dimwitted audience won’t suspect a thing. Media using its position to push out propaganda sympathetic to the regime? Joseph Goebbels, another “Nazi-linked” individual would be beaming with pride!

Capitalism is dead: long live Technofeudalism

We have all been turned into cloud-serfs

I once heard an elderly Friedrich von Hayek begin a tirade against socialist planning with a charming personal tale. “The other day,” he said playfully, “I went into a shop. I left with an item that, previously, I had no idea I wanted!” Like all the smartest defenders of capitalism, he thought of the market as a benevolent creator whose job no human-made system could replicate. Hayek’s point here was that we, ourselves, do not know what we want until we enter the market. So how could a government official, or indeed anyone, know what society wants.

Germany: Police Hide Nationality of Muslim Criminals

In Germany, a Syrian migrant tried to kill a snack bar employee, stabbing him in the neck. There was nothing unusual about that: there has been, during the last few years, a wave — a decuman — of murderous attacks by Muslim migrants throughout Europe. But this one was noted because the German police tried, yet again, to hide the criminal’s nationality from the public.
