Unhappy Hookers

TORONTO – Ontario’s Superior Court has dismissed a Charter challenge launched by an alliance of groups advocating for the rights of sex workers, ruling that Canada’s criminal laws on sex work are constitutional.

The Canadian Alliance for Sex Work Law Reform argued in court last fall that Canada’s prostitution laws violate the industry workers’ Charter rights.

Another FBI Informant in Biden Case Was ‘Shut Down’ Before 2020 Election

Another whistleblower has come forward to reveal the behind-the-scenes efforts in the FBI to protect Hunter Biden (and his father Joe Biden by extension) back in 2020. A former FBI supervisor has informed Congress that the bureau’s Washington field office had a second “politically connected” informant giving them information for the investigation into the Biden crime family but was instructed to “shut down the source” before the 2020 presidential election.

HASKELL: How Ontario teachers pick on white children

Last week, Peel district schools reportedly purged all library books written before 2008. But this incident is just one of many questionable moves made by schools across Ontario in recent years.

For example, in mid-summer 2022, the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario began distributing new lesson plans that aimed to indoctrinate children into ‘white-privilege’ ideology. The lesson plans were to be taught in primary, junior and intermediate grades across the province and were an extension of the Federation’s existing and larger ‘White Privilege project.’

Vance (R-OH) has written to top Biden administration officials demanding the White House reveal if Sarah Ashton-Cirillo, a transgender individual claiming to be a spokesperson for the Ukrainian military, has ties to American intelligence services and if U.S. funds are currently subsidising Ashton-Cirillo’s apparent role in Ukraine after the personality went viral vowing that Russian “propagandists will be hunted down”.

They can afford gas, but not rent: Why these Torontonians are living in RVs

In the heart of Toronto’s industrial Port Lands, there is a street filled with trailers and motor homes — and a 61-year-old carpenter trying to plan for an unknown future.

He’ll be relying once again on a diesel heater through the dark nights of the approaching winter. It would help to have another solar panel on the roof to provide power.

The California conundrum: Fewer people, more homes, but an acute housing shortage

In the last decade, California home prices and rents have soared, an upswing that’s put homeownership further out of reach and helped drive thousands into homelessness.

This escalation coincided with a unique moment in California history. For much of the last decade, the state’s population growth was historically low.

In the last few years, it ground to halt and then dropped — and all the while developers continued to build.

US military admits it has lost $80m stealth jet

Marine Corps put out appeal for missing aircraft after pilot ejects over South Carolina

Most public appeals seek help in finding lost pets or wedding rings – but the US military is asking for sightings of a missing $80 million (£65 million) fighter jet.

On Sunday, a Marine Corps pilot ejected out of an F-35 Lightning II during a “mishap” over South Carolina.

The pilot parachuted into a neighbourhood in North Charleston and was taken to a medical centre but the whereabouts of the plane is unknown.

Liberals hoping public dumb enough to swallow “solutions” to housing crisis and rising crime rates that LPC policies created

Liberals hope focus on housing, crime halts their plummet in the polls as Parliament returns

After taking a beating in the polls all summer, Liberal MPs are expected to focus on two areas of political vulnerability for them — housing and public safety — when Parliament resumes today after the summer break.

Conservatives, riding high in the polls and re-energized after a September policy convention, will use every opportunity they have during the fall sitting to argue that after eight years in government, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s policies have failed to address a shortage of housing or to keep communities safe.

‘Free speech absolutist’ Elon Musk ‘in early talks’ to open Tesla factory in Saudi Arabia – where man was sentenced to death last month for tweeting negatively about regime

Self-proclaimed ‘free speech absolutist’ Elon Musk is in talks to open a Tesla factory in Saudi Arabia – which is still killing citizens for negative tweets about the Kingdom.

A deal with the Saudis could help Musk achieve his ambitious goal of selling 20 million vehicles a year by 2030 – up from just 1.3 million sold in 2022.

The move is part of an ambitious push by the kingdom to diversify its economy away from oil and secure metals needed to make electric cars.

Joe Oliver: Liberals on the same path of self-inflicted ruin as the Soviets

Growing gap between Ottawa’s version of reality and the facts on the ground becoming apparent to Canadians

The Soviet Union ultimately collapsed from internal contradictions related to a faltering ideology, limited free speech, economic mismanagement, deteriorating international influence and an inability to deliver on promises of a better life that were painfully obvious to all but were not, for fear of brutal reprisal, discussed publicly until near the very end. Justin Trudeau’s leftist woke government is afflicted by similar if milder contradictions that in our free country the aggrieved population living under them is discussing quite openly — which suggests the government’s dissolution will come faster.

Columbia quietly closes down Teachers College project that ruined countless lives

Columbia University is trying to quietly walk away from a disaster it imposed on generations of American children.

The least we can do is call out the damage done.

Just before the Labor Day weekend, Columbia announced that it’s “dissolving” the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project and sending its creator, Lucy Calkins, off on indefinite sabbatical.

All teacher’s colleges are run by degenerate commie shitbags.

Rescue of $3M boring machine trapped under Toronto street delayed again as recovery costs skyrocket

The rescue of a multi-million dollar boring machine trapped beneath a west Toronto street has been delayed again, with the city warning it might not be the last set-back before the project is wrapped.

City staff told residents last month that the project, which was supposed to have been completed this fall, is instead expected be finished by December. Some additional restoration of the street — Old Mill Drive near Bloor Street West — will not take place until the spring.

“Everyone in the neighbourhood is just feeling increasingly frustrated,” resident Tanya Boswick said. “It feels as though this project is just never going to end.”

‘The nightmare is over’: Americans freed by Iran in prisoner swap

Five Americans jailed for years in Iran and widely regarded as hostages are on their way home to the United States.

The last pieces in a controversial swap mediated by Qatar fell into place when $6bn (£4.8bn) of Iranian funds held in South Korea reached banks in Doha.

It triggered the next step – to allow the four American men and one woman in Tehran, who are also Iranian citizens, to board a flight to Qatar’s capital.

They will be met by senior US officials and then flown to Washington.

Anthony Furey: What to Note From Trudeau’s Response to Reporters’ Question on Whether He’ll Resign

The narrative on the Canadian federal political scene has quickly shifted. There’s a question that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is now being publicly asked that no politician wants to face. It’s a question that’s going to be echoed all across social media and on television and radio discussion panels. It’s one he will no doubt face again in front of the cameras.

The question is whether Trudeau is going to resign.

Don’t use terms like ‘women’ in article about periods, sanitary pad firm ‘told website’

Writer claims her article had to be changed to be more inclusive to transgender people because it was sponsored by Always

Always, the sanitary pad firm, told a parenting website to remove the words “women”, “girls” and “females” from a period advice article, a women’s health writer has claimed.

The period pad manufacturer is alleged to have asked parenting website Good To Know to remove gendered language from an article about teenage girls’ first menstruation to avoid offending transgender people.

The site allegedly removed words including “girls” and “women” from an article sponsored by Always to ensure the content remained “inclusive”, women’s health writer Milli Hill has claimed.

Adam Zivo: The sad truth about socialist ‘anti-imperialists’ who defend Putin

When Russia invaded Ukraine 19 months ago, western socialists had an opportunity to prove that their commitments to “anti-imperialism” were authentic and principled. Instead, many of these leftists rallied behind Moscow and, in the process, spotlighted their own moral bankruptcy and disdain for eastern European lives.

This behaviour, however disappointing, was utterly predictable when put into historical context.
