Don’t Let Feminism Warp 9/11

Last night, 60 Minutes broadcast a moving story of firefighters in the World Trade Center 22 years ago. Scott Pelley carefully used that word, “firefighter,” throughout the elongated feature.

60 Minutes, choosing diversity when it clashes with truth, highlighted several female firefighters (both among the more eloquent talking heads, so one cannot really gainsay their inclusion) on the program. But 343 of 343 who perished were firemen. So, cannot we safely, in this one instance, drop the 21st-century gender-neutral term?

US makes deal with Iran to swap five American prisoners for $6billion in frozen funds

Five American citizens being held hostage by Iran will be released in return for the unfreezing of $6 billion held in South Korean banks, the U.S. government announced on Monday – enraging Biden administration critics, particular as the timing coincided with the anniversary of 9/11.

The five U.S. hostages – businessmen Siamak Namazi, 51, and Emad Shargi, 58; environmentalist Morad Tahbaz, 67; and two anonymous individuals – will be freed once the money has been transferred from South Korea to an intermediary, Qatar, and then on to Iran.

Five Iranian citizens held in the U.S. will also be released.

Joe Biden’s global G20 embarrassment

What time is it? A bit like the emperor Domitian, Joe Biden seems confused about the time. Warned by an omen that his death would come at midday, Domitian daily pestered people around him with that question, relaxing only after the dreaded hour had passed.

Alas, his caution availed him not. One day in September 96 AD, a treacherous servant lied to Domitian about the time, inducing him to let down his guard. A knife-wielding steward did the rest.

Afghanistan meth trade surges as Taliban clamps down on heroin, UN report says

Sept 10 (Reuters) – Methamphetamine trafficking in and around Afghanistan has surged in recent years, even as the Taliban has curbed heroin trafficking since taking power, a United Nations report said on Sunday.

“The surge in methamphetamine trafficking in Afghanistan and the region suggests a significant shift in the illicit drug market and demands our immediate attention,” said Ghada Waly, executive director of the U.N. Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Time to Declare a ‘People’s War’ on the CCP: All of China Is One Military Machine

“I want to be clear that we do not seek to decouple or to hold China’s economy back,” declared U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo during her August trip to Beijing.

Well, why not, Madam Secretary? The U.S. should be holding the Chinese economy back. In fact, we should be doing more than just that. Washington should be trying to end the rule of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It is time to declare a “people’s war” against the CCP. We are in an us-or-them fight.

The Party certainly thinks that way. In May 2019, People’s Daily, the CCP’s self-described “mouthpiece” and therefore most authoritative publication in China, declared a “people’s war” against the United States.

Blame Trudeau for housing, sure – but the real fault belongs to your local mayor

The pain inflicted on many Canadians by the out-of-control housing market has escalated to new levels, as has the desire to pin the blame on someone.

At the top of that list, according to a recent Leger poll, is Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. When asked which level of government should be assigned the most blame when it comes to housing, 40 per cent of those surveyed pointed at Ottawa; 32 per cent blamed their provincial leaders; 22 per cent weren’t sure who was at fault; only 6 per cent called out their local city council.

There would be no housing shortage had Trudeau not callously opened the immigration floodgates.

The media narrative however is to gloss over the role of mass immigration in this fiasco to protect the interests of the Corporate class.

Khalid Latif: Cricketer sentenced over Dutch MP Geert Wilders murder threat

A former Pakistan international cricketer has been given a 12-year prison sentence in the Netherlands for threatening far-right MP Geert Wilders.

The case was based on a video posted online in 2018, in which Khalid Latif offered 21,000 euros (£18,000) to anyone who would kill the politician.

That was after Mr Wilders made comments about the Prophet Muhammad that were offensive to Muslims.

It is considered unlikely that Latif will serve any of his sentence.

He currently lives in Pakistan, which has no extradition treaty with the Netherlands.

Snubbed by world leaders at G20 to embarrassing Canada on the global stage, Justin Trudeau became famous for all the wrong reasons

Trudeau has also come under severe attack by the Canadian opposition and policymakers for his “woke agenda” on issues around gender and freedom of speech.

There are doers and there are talkers, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s character qualifies as that of a talker reading his own eulogy. This much is clear from the global media coverage, including Canadian media, of Trudeau’s G20 participation which was a disaster in itself.

Is this the end of the Soros empire?

The retreat from Europe is long-overdue

Even in retreat, the Soros empire commands a feverish hysteria. When, last December, the 93-year-old George finally handed control of his Open Society Foundations (OSF) to his 37-year-old son, Alexander, many of his liberal supporters wondered whether it was the beginning of the end. Now, their worst fears appear to have been confirmed: under the guise of a “radical shift of strategic direction”, the OSF would appear to be effectively withdrawing from Europe, with staff being told that the organisation “will largely terminate funding within the European Union”.

Jordan Peterson: Trudeau and the equity tyrants must be stopped

We’re at the edge of the terrible transformation that is occurring everywhere in the free world

Some of those reading this column will know that I have been ordered by the Ontario College of Psychologists to undergo “social media re-training” of indeterminate length, as a consequence of expressing my opinions publicly, with the specified outcome of my comprehensive compliance, as judged by my re-educators.

The charges levied against me include re-tweeting a tweet by the Leader of the Official Opposition in Canada (are you listening, “conservatives”?), criticizing Justin Trudeau and a diverse number of his minions, and expressing skepticism about the doom-saying fear-mongering tyranny-promoting chicken-little prognostications of the eco-fascists.

Extremists keep trying to trigger mass blackouts — and that’s not even the scariest part

Maryland’s top utility regulator was watching the news one February morning when a headline blindsided him: Two suspects with neo-Nazi ties had been charged with plotting to take down Baltimore’s power grid.

Jason Stanek, the then-chair of the state’s Public Service Commission, said Maryland regulators were “caught flat-footed,” not hearing a word from law enforcement before the news broke — or in the months afterward. Federal prosecutors have alleged the defendants were driven by “racially motivated hatred” to try to cut power to hundreds of thousands of people in the state’s largest city, which has a predominantly Black population.
