Mexico places slab of Berlin Wall near border with US

Mexico has placed a slab of the Berlin Wall near the US-Mexico border in protest over its neighbour’s attempts to stem migration.

Despite Joe Biden cancelling Donald Trump’s plans to build a wall between the two countries on his first day in office, he has moved ahead with small, already-contracted projects.

One of those has been a two-layered wall in San Diego, standing 18ft high and rising 30ft in some parts.

Sheila Copps on the housing crisis

What’s behind Canada’s housing crisis? Decades of policy failures, says former deputy PM

Canada’s housing crunch is the result of decades of poor policy stemming from the federal government leaving the issue to the provinces in the 1980s, according to one former deputy prime minister.

Former deputy prime minister Sheila Copps said in an interview with BNN Bloomberg that when Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) was involved in building housing, there was a significant amount of national investment in housing as well as housing policy and strategy.

Acres of decrepit crime and drug ridden high rise eyesores. That’s what I think of when I hear the words government housing.

Is this America’s WORST-driven car? Clips of Nissan Altimas cutting-up traffic and crashing – with their drivers also regularly seen brawling – inspire ‘Big Altima Energy’ memes

When it comes to bad driving, its the person behind the wheel who makes all the difference – and the internet has seized on Nissan Altima drivers as the chief culprits.

Since they first hit the streets in 1992, drivers of the humble sedan have been the punchline for never ending jokes.

Now the cars have their own cult following online with enthusiasts uploading photos and videos dedicated to ‘Big Altima Energy’ – or BAE – typified by car crashes, hair-raising police chases and comical mistakes.

Poll shocks media

Most say they support LGBTQ2S+ Canadians, but actions don’t line up: poll

While Canadians broadly support LGBTQ2S+ people and issues, they are less likely the engage in behaviours that show true allyship for the community, new polling conducted for Global News has found.

The majority of Canadians – 78 per cent – believe transgender people should be protected from discrimination in employment, housing and access to businesses. Seventy-four per cent believe that same-sex couples should have the same rights to adopt children as straight couples. However, the latest polling, conducted by Ipsos, found only a dismal one-in-10 consider themselves to be an active ally to the queer community.

They’re shocked their brainwashing effort hasn’t convinced the public that sexually mutilating children is a good thing.

“I’m bracing for a storm.” Some Toronto-area teachers fear another year of tumult and safety concerns

While students held up cellphones to capture the fight on video, the teacher managed to pull the two boys apart.

If she hadn’t stopped them, “his skull would have been cracked open,” reasoned the teacher, who works at a secondary school in Etobicoke. The Star has withheld her name to protect her from potential repercussions for speaking out.

It makes us stronger or somethin.

Ontario colleges are fuelling unprecedented growth in international students

In 2012, Ontario’s Conestoga College had about 10,000 full-time students, nearly nine out of 10 of them Canadians. A decade later, the college had about the same number of domestic students, but it has more than doubled in size thanks to huge enrolment from abroad. And with those foreign students has come a tripling of revenue and a massive windfall for the school.

The college, located an hour’s drive west of Toronto in Kitchener, Ont., had more international study permits issued last year than any school in Canada, and almost as many as the two of the country’s leading universities, the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia, combined.

What a scam.

How Rage Against the Machine Used Capitalism To Sell Communism

A calculated corporate deal propelled these radical rockers all the way to the Hall of Fame.

This November, rock’s most successful and pugnacious communists will be inducted, six years after they became eligible, to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Rage Against the Machine, a band that kicked the doors down on the 1990s with a then-novel mix of brutally heavy guitars and hip-hop vocals, also blended in unlikely tandem two other disparate traditions of American life.

Today in History: A Forgotten Christian Warrior Saves the West From Islam

Today in history witnessed one of the most stalwart defenses against the Islamic spear-thrust into Europe — the Battle of Albulena in Albania in 1457.

To appreciate the significance of this epic clash, one must first appreciate the leader of the Albanian forces, George Kastrioti, better known as Skanderbeg (“Lord Alexander”). Today, he is as little known in the West as he was once widely celebrated all throughout Europe. His life, which is featured in the new book, “Defenders of the West: The Christian Heroes Who Stood Against Islam,” certainly validates the saying that “truth is stranger than fiction.”

Ivermectin makes a comeback

It should never have been banned

Writing for the Brownstone Institute, Debbie Lerman asked a provocative question: ‘What If There Had Been No Covid Coup’ and the leading US public health agencies had been left in charge of the pandemic response? Instead, it was taken over by the National Security Council and the departments of defense and homeland security. The prevailing assumption being, of course, that the same set of responses would have unfolded over the next two to three years. She refutes this and explains with great clarity and considerable plausibility why the national security elite had to take over and what the implications are.

‘The Muslim Brotherhood reinvented halal, sowing seeds of separatism in Europe’

Renowned French anthropologist Florence Bergeaud Blackler discusses the expansion of Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood in Europe, the Islamic Caliphate, and the halal & hijab push in western democracies, in an interview with The New Indian Editor-in-Chief Aarti Tikoo.

Blackler specializes in Islamic normativity and has written two books – The Halal Market or The Invention of a Tradition and Frérisme or Brotherism (yet to be translated into English). Her research focuses on Salafi indoctrination, halal ecosystems, and the particular form of Islamism that emerged in the 1960s in Europe and other western liberal democracies. Her works also revolve around the role of the Muslim Brotherhood in promoting a more radical version of Islam and pushing the traditional schools of Islam to the corner, in order to lead all Muslims towards the Caliphate.

The Delights of the Pfizer/Moderna Catfight

I am a bit embarrassed to admit that I am taking a perverse pleasure in watching this catfight between Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna play out. Not to gloat, but I find it validating and rather satisfying to watch these companies file lawsuits and counter lawsuits that boil down to a schoolyard squabble over who came up with the ideas and initial proof of concept for using mRNA for developing drugs and vaccines – when neither actually did the initial “proof of concept” work. Companies that have exploited and unethically weaponized my early work and ideas for enormous profit while also seeking to write me out of history. “O what a tangled web.”
