‘Life or death’: LGBTQ2 people warn on dangers of school pronoun policy changes

As debate continues over policies requiring parental consent for youth under 16 to change their name or preferred pronouns in some schools, members of Canada’s LGBTQ2 community say such legislation could put some at risk of abuse, harassment or even homelessness.

The concerns come as Saskatchewan and New Brunswick recently put in place such laws.

Mom of 4 slams ‘oblivious’ AOC sharing inflation ‘propaganda’ clip — and ignoring how American families are struggling

A mother of four struggling to keep money in the bank accused lawmakers of being “oblivious” to how much high inflation is affecting families across the country.

Amber Bergeron of Louisiana pointed her ire at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in particular on Friday for sharing a clip declaring that inflation is just “propaganda” — seemingly refuting a recent study revealing that 61% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.

“I’m just wondering how she thinks it’s propaganda. I mean, has she checked her electric bill? Has she looked at the cost of groceries compared to last year?” Bergeron said on “Fox & Friends First.“

Canadians work almost as much as Americans, yet produce far less. Why?

… It is one of the great mysteries of the Canadian economy. Given our exceptionally close business ties with the U.S., including more than three decades of free trade, it’s surprising we haven’t closed the gap. Among the most likely explanations is that Canadian businesses invest less in research and development, new equipment and new technologies – all things that boost output per worker. The Canadian market is also less competitive than in the U.S. or the European Union. This puts less pressure on businesses to invest in raising output per worker.

But Canada has somewhat reduced the output gap with the U.S., and closed most of the gap with Western Europe. How? By working more.

Public sector jobs in Canada since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic have grown at a rate more than three times as fast as those in the private sector, including the self-employed, according to a new study by the Fraser Institute.

No secret there, they tend to be concentrated in urban centres like Toronto and Ottawa traditional Liberal Party strongholds. The LPC is just shoring up the vote.

Online News Act could see Google, Meta pay combined $230 million to Canadian media … REJECTED

The federal government has put a price tag on how much it would like to see Google and Facebook spend under legislation that requires the tech giants to compensate media companies for Canadian journalism.

Federal officials estimate Google would need to offer $172 million and Facebook $62 million in annual compensation to satisfy criteria they’re proposing be used to give exemptions under the Online News Act, a bill passed over the summer that will force tech companies to broker deals with media companies whose work they link to or repurpose.

Prepared for the Fall?

Are we ready for the consequences of China’s collapse?

The most salutary and enduring effect Donald Trump’s presidency had on Washington was that it put the entire town into a new attitude of realism about China. While Trump conducted a phony trade war with China — one that he concluded by begging Chairman Xi to buy more soybeans from swing states — the rest of D.C. started noticing how belligerent China was on the world stage, with its “wolf warrior” diplomacy. Legislators started to put the screws to China and its multinational corporate partners for their participation in the oppression of Uyghurs in the Xinjiang region. The Biden administration kept many of the remaining anti-Chinese tariffs and then set about trying to cut China off from even participating in the future development of advanced microprocessors. Elbridge Colby became a fixture across much of Washington for his book, The Strategy of Denial, which outlined the seriousness of China’s military buildup and the limited resources the U.S. had to meet a potential threat in the Pacific theater. His book was respected if not exactly heeded, as the U.S. then recommitted itself to being the lead actor in European security.

Bill Gates and others behind massive deforestation scheme, for ‘global warming’ of course

We’re being held hostage by “green” megalomaniacs with man boobs, and CIA-linked eco-terrorists.

As reported by Joshua Philipp, investigative reporter and host of the Epoch TV’s Crossroads program, Bill Gates’s company Breakthrough Energy Ventures is a main player behind a new deforestation scheme. Per Philipp, Gates and “other investors” have contributed $6.6 million in a “stealth effort” to a California startup called Kodama Systems, which is offering a “novel” approach to the net zero agenda.

America Overrun, America Transformed

Overrun: How Joe Biden Unleashed the Greatest Border Crisis in U.S. History, by Todd Bensman, Bombardier Books, 432 pages

By the end of four years in power, the Biden administration will almost surely have admitted over 10 million illegal immigrants. Todd Bensman’s Overrun: How Joe Biden Unleashed the Greatest Border Crisis in U.S. History is an essential book for understanding this migrant maelstrom. Reading his analysis of the unfolding border catastrophe can be wrenching, even infuriating, but conservatives need to grapple with a historic disaster, and the valuable material presented in this important book.

Overrun is a fire-bell ringing in the night. A White House that erases national borders, ignores federal laws, and refuses to expel illegal arrivals is on a mission to fundamentally change the country. While the country’s situation is dire, even desperate, Overrun also offers crucial policy fixes, most notably the need to “tear down and rebuild the American asylum system.”

Race reparations are radical, divisive — and in Evanston, a reality

The Illinois city has become the first to compensate black Americans for historic wrongs, and it is not only Republicans who oppose the scheme, writes Will Pavia

The first time Louis Weathers heard the idea of reparations for black Americans, he did not take it seriously. “We were supposed to get forty acres and a mule,” he said. “I thought it was a joke.”

Forty acres and a mule was the promise made by General William Sherman in 1865 to the generation freed by the Civil War from slavery. It was not fulfilled.

Weathers is old enough to have known a member of that generation in his own family. “My great-grandfather was enslaved,” he said. He met the man, as a child. Still, he thought the idea of reparations was fanciful, even as it gained broader support on the left and became part of the fraught conversation about race in the United States.

We Cannot Say We Weren’t Warned

It might seem overblown to call this appeals hearing the Trial of the Century. It’s not. The ability of people in every society of the West to speak freely about what they believe is true is on trial.

Believe it or not, the Trial of the Century just happened in a courtroom in Helsinki. The Finnish parliamentarian and physician Päivi Räsänen this week returned to the dock to face hate crimes charges for having quoted the Bible in defense of Scripture’s teaching on homosexuality.

While it is not altogether surprising that yet another Christian has been brought up on charged of blaspheming against LGBTs—who have been elevated from ordinary people, as equal as anybody else, into liberalism’s divinities—a statement the Finnish prosecution made in the trial’s opening raised the proceedings from an ordinary example of post-Christian liberalism’s contempt for the faith and free speech, into something epochal. Attention must be paid.
