Man In Italy Killed By 25,000 Cheeses

How did 25,000 wheels of Grana Padano Cheese cause the death of a 75-year-old entrepreneur?

It has been reported that on Sunday, August 6, a total of 25,000 wheels of Grana Padano cheese fell in the warehouse of a cheese factory in Romano di Lombardia, Bergamo, crushing the owner, 75-year-old farmer Giacomo Chiapparini. The tragic incident unfolded due to the shelving collapse, though the actual causes remain unknown, according to Il Corriere della Citta.

“It’s not racist to raise questions about the impact of 500,000 immigrants a year on Canada’s infrastructure, health care and economy”

William Watson: In 2023 is it possible to have a reasoned discussion of immigration?

Marc Miller just finished five years as a federal minister working on Indigenous issues. Now, ironically, he’s minister of immigration, encouraging an influx of new Canadians many Indigenous Canadians think hasn’t served them so well.

He’s better off than the person he’s replacing, however, rising Liberal star Sean Fraser. After 21 months at immigration, Fraser is off to housing, infrastructure and communities to work on the big headaches caused for, ahem, housing, infrastructure and communities by the record number of immigrants he let in. It’s just desserts of a sort you don’t often see in politics — even if the prime minister’s recent disavowal of federal responsibility for housing, motivated more by hot-potato politics than respectful regard for the constitutional division of powers, may let Fraser off the sharpest of those three hooks.

Scottish Government Felling Almost 2,000 Trees per Day To Make The Environment Safe For Wind Turbines

Just under 16 million trees have been cut down on publicly owned Scottish land to make way for wind farms. Conservation campaigners warn that planning regulations for new turbines on wild land are so relaxed they are difficult not to meet.

Mairi Gougeon, the Scottish National Party’s (SNP) Rural Affairs Secretary, last month estimated that 15.7 million trees had been felled since 2000 on land managed by the Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) agency. That equates to more than 1,700 a day.

Over Half of Canadians Say Federal Carbon Tax Ineffective on Climate Change: Poll

Over half of Canadians, 53 percent, say the federal carbon tax is ineffective at combating climate change, according to a new poll by Nanos Research, with most saying it’s also badly timed.

The poll, commissioned by CTV News and released Aug. 6, reported that two-thirds (67 percent) of Canadians said it was either “poor timing” (21 percent),or “very poor timing” (46 percent) to increase the carbon tax.

China hacked Japan’s sensitive defense networks, officials say

In the fall of 2020, the National Security Agency made an alarming discovery: Chinese military hackers had compromised classified defense networks of the United States’ most important strategic ally in East Asia. Cyberspies from the People’s Liberation Army had wormed their way into Japan’s most sensitive computer systems.

The hackers had deep, persistent access and appeared to be after anything they could get their hands on — plans, capabilities, assessments of military shortcomings, according to three former senior U.S. officials, who were among a dozen current and former U.S. and Japanese officials interviewed, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the matter’s sensitivity.

Ukraine’s Sluggish Counteroffensive Raises Questions About U.S. Support

President Joe Biden has claimed that the U.S.’s support for Ukraine “will not waver” amid its conflict with Russia, but new reports about the slow pace of Kyiv’s counteroffensive highlight the costs of the fighting.

The New York Times reported last week that newly Western-trained Ukrainian brigades have failed to achieve any “sweeping gains,” due to Russian artillery fire. Similarly, CNN has highlighted Ukraine’s difficulty in penetrating Russian defenses, with one Ukrainian official calling the density of Russian mines “insane.” And Politico reported Tuesday that U.S. officials expect the counteroffensive to last “at least through the fall and possibly into the winter.”

Could Trump win again?

The legal witch hunt against him has backfired spectacularly.

Whisper it: but Donald Trump could be the next US president. The attempt to bring Trump down via a slew of often-questionable indictments – the latest one for ‘conspiracy to defraud’ the US, over Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 election – has not only dragged America closer to banana-republic territory, normalising the pursuit of political candidates through often-stunning feats of legal acrobatics, performed by an increasingly politicised justice system. It has also failed spectacularly. So far, at least.

Large numbers of Chinese illegal aliens are showing up in America

For all four years of Trump’s presidency, the Democrat establishment never let up: “Russia! Russia! Russia!”—as if a corrupt country with a dying population and a minimal industrial base was a threat to us. (The Dems never minded the very powerful Soviet Union.) Donald Trump tried very hard to get America to focus on the real risk, which is China. All the Chinese stories in the news of late show he was correct…and a new one has just been added to the list, which involves Chinese citizens (foot soldiers?) being smuggled into America.

‘Hail Satan! Hail Thyself’: What The Gender Cult And Satanism Have In Common

A self-described transgender graphic designer made national headlines this June when a number of her designs were used in Target’s controversial pride collection. One design found on the London-based designer’s own online apparel shop has the message: “Satan respects pronouns,” encircling a goat head.

The designer, whose shirts feature phrases like “astrology made me queer” and whose UFO-shaped pin says “no gender no problem,” doesn’t claim on her site to be a Satanist per se. Instead, “Erik” says, “There’s something magical about the unknown, the frightening, and the mystical which is why I so frequently feature these themes in my art.”

China Recruits BLM to Protest for Slavery

Will the next race riots be Made in China?

Remember how Russia supposedly elected Trump using only the television ad budget of a failed congressional race in Amish country?

The Senate intelligence report actually found that “most of the videos” put up by Moscow “pertained to police brutality and the activist efforts of the Black Lives Matter organization”.

The Islamist roots of French disorder

The country’s riots cannot be explained away by socio-economic woes alone.

The most destructive, spectacular and costly riots in France’s recent history, surpassing even the infamous unrest of 2005, are over. To the Anglophone media and its audiences they were an expression of the anger felt among the children of France’s former overseas possessions – a generational resentment fuelled by experiences of poverty, discrimination and painful colonial legacies.

Others have noted the opportunistic, even recreational quality of rioting, but the anger – the rage – against France among parts of its youth is real and goes deeper than one specific event.

The Remaking of America

Every aspect of American life and culture is under assault

We are in the midst of one of the most radical revolutions in American history. It is as far-reaching and dangerous as the turbulent years of the 1850s and 1860s or the 1930s. Every aspect of American life and culture is under assault, including the very processes by which we govern ourselves, and the manner in which we live.
