Washington DC is a failed city

Congress should exercise its powers and take over

If you had to pick the exact day when the young, affluent, and oblivious of Washington DC were forced to accept that they live in a failed city, 22 July 2021 would be as good a choice as any. That was the day when swell DC brunchers scurried out the doors of the fashionable French restaurant Le Diplomate near DuPont Circle as gunshots rang out in the streets. The incident was symbolic proof of something many Washington residents had long known but feared to articulate in public: that no matter who they were, where they were, or what time of day, they were no longer safe in their home city.

When Ideology Corrupts Medicine—and How One Reporter Exposed it

Last month, Britain’s National Health Service made major news when they announced that they were banning the use of puberty blockers for children, except for those enrolled in a tightly regulated clinical trial. The decision was made after an independent review found there were “significant uncertainties” surrounding the long-term effects of these drugs, which had previously been touted as totally reversible.

Biden Administration Funding Iran’s Nuclear Bomb Tests, Threatening Israel for Trying to Prevent Them?

Thanks to the Biden Administration’s appeasement of the Iranian regime, the mullahs have apparently become more emboldened than ever to test their nuclear bomb. Secret attempts by the Administration to reach an interim deal with the mullahs threaten not only to add an estimated $100 billion into the treasury of the Iranian regime’s struggling economy, but, worse, catapult an Iranian nuclear menace onto the world.

As the military endeavours to boost its recruitment and retention numbers, Canadians say their overall trust in the armed forces’ preparedness is declining, with fewer than 40 percent of respondents saying they have a “high level of trust” in the military, according to internal Department of National Defence (DND) research.

“More than one in three respondents, 37 percent, trust the Canadian Armed Forces while an additional 40 percent were ‘somewhat’ trustful,” reads a report summarizing in-house research contracted by the DND, according to Blacklock’s Reporter on July 14.

Sweden: Plan to burn Torah called off

“I’m a Muslim, we don’t burn” – Bullshit.

The man who vowed to burn the Torah and the Bible outside the Israeli Embassy in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm, said Saturday he had chosen not to set fire to the religious scriptures, Swedish media have reported.

Despite being given permission by Stockholm police to hold a three-person protest, the man said he had no intention of burning any books and instead threw a lighter to the ground.

“I never thought I would burn any books. I’m a Muslim, we don’t burn,” broadcaster SVT cited the man as telling those gathered for the planned desecration.

“I’m a Muslim, we don’t burn” – Bullshit.

He probably gave up upon realizing no one was going to riot.

Bank of Canada staff received $26.7 million in bonuses and raises in 2022 – after Macklem told his corporate cronies to deny raises to working people

We really need to resurrect Tarring & Feathering

Bank of Canada staff received $26.7 million in bonuses and raises in 2022.

According to documents released through access to information requests and published by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, employees at Canada’s central bank received $20.2 million in bonuses and $6.5 million in raises in 2022, a 13 per cent increase over 2021. More than 80 per cent of staff received a bonus or raise in 2022 at a time when the Bank of Canada sought to discourage consumer spending through interest rate hikes.

What sort of evil pencil necked sociopath makes decisions like that? We need to delouse Ottawa.

Nolte: Hooray for Woke Hollywood Shutting Down

Two strikes have shut down Woke Hollywood and that’s a beautiful thing.

Hollywood is shut down and we’re all supposed to pretend we care now that people who hate us and target our children are out of work. Well, I’m too old to pretend. As the Last Unicorn, as the last right-winger who, up until a couple of years ago, defended the entertainment industry as a vital American institution and creator of art, I’m now pledging those delegates to my Blu-ray collection.

Canada helped make NATO a political forum. Now it struggles with its own creation

Lester B. Pearson — Canada’s 14th prime minister, Nobel Peace Prize winner and Liberal icon — is most likely spinning in his grave this week.

For a number of reasons.

You probably know him as the venerated, even celebrated, architect of peacekeeping, that cherished instrument of Canadian political and foreign policy, which in the current global context seems quaint and uncomplicated.

So Pearson infected NATO with the period’s version of WOKE.  I always said he was a communist.

House Republicans Plan to Hold Hearings on UFOs

House Republicans on the Oversight Committee are making preparations for a hearing later this month on government efforts to try to unravel some of the mysteries surrounding unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs).

No witnesses have been announced, nor has the scope of the hearing been made public. But the hearing will come a little over a month after a Department of Defense whistleblower claimed the U.S. has retrieved several aircraft of “non-human origin.”
