NCC to vote on new Sir John A MacDonald Parkway name after selecting Algonquin recommendation

Algonquin communities consulted over what to rename Ottawa’s Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway have reached a consensus and the new name Kichi Zībī Mīkan will be recommended to the National Capital Commission’s board of directors later this month, according to a letter circulated by one of the Indigenous groups involved.

A little odd given it’s a parkway designed for motor vehicles or did the Algonquin invent cars?

Gage Haubrich: New Zealand’s gun buyback suggests Ottawa’s won’t work

In May 2020, the federal government announced a ban on 1,500 types of what it called “assault-style” firearms. As part of this ban, it has promised to provide “fair compensation” to gun owners whose firearms it confiscates.

The ban’s aim is to keep Canadians safe. “Enough is enough,” said then-minister of public safety Bill Blair. “Banning these firearms will save Canadian lives.” But will this scheme actually make Canadians safer? And what will it cost? The government of New Zealand recently completed its own gun ban and buyback. It provides a good case study of the effects such a program can have.

The fight on the right and the centre split: Why Olivia Chow’s rivals are struggling to catch up

Standing on a stage on Monday, surrounded by supporters holding up her purple campaign signs, Olivia Chow played to the crowd.

“Are you ready to elect a mayor who cares?” she said as they cheered. “Let’s go do it. Let’s make it happen. Let’s win.”

It was the first of two rallies that the front runner’s campaign plans to hold this week as Chow attempts to project confidence and seal the deal with voters ahead of Toronto’s mayoral byelection.

Iranian Bio-Bomber Convicted in German Court

German judge said they had enough castor beans to produce ricin capable of killing as many as 13,500 people. It is the second such case in Germany in recent years.

Earlier this year in January, two brothers were arrested by German police following a raid on their home in the town of Castrop-Rauxel near the city of Dortmund, as police asserted that the two Iranian nationals were radical Islamic extremists plotting a mass casualty terrorist attack.

Now, five months following their arrest, the Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor’s Office has indicted 26-year-old Jalal J., the younger of the two brothers, for plotting a terrorist attack and trying to create a biological weapon, a report from the German tabloid Bild reveals.

How lockdown broke a generation (and no one seems to care)

New research has shown that lockdowns fuelled a staggering rise in teenage eating disorders – and this was not the only damage done

Every day new evidence emerges of the harms of lockdown on children. Researchers find rising numbers of those with eating disorders and social anxiety, or who are self-harming and dropping out of school. And that’s far from an exhaustive list.

The fact our young suffered the effects of lockdown in many more ways than we could ever have predicted has left parents, schools and the healthcare system reeling in the virus’s wake. But today, little is being done.

America Wakes Up to Woke

Americans are rejecting wokeism because they finally are realizing that if they do not, they will not have a civilization left.

Wokeness was envisioned as a new reboot of the coalition of the oppressed.

Those purportedly victimized by traditional America would find “intersectional” solidarity in their victimhood owing to the supposed sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, and other alleged American sins, past and present.

The so-called white male heterosexual victimizing class was collectively to be held responsible for their sinful triad of white “rage,” “supremacy,” and “privilege.”

As Europe Cracks Down on ‘Eco-Terrorism,’ Liberal American Lawmaker Urges Climate Activists Planning Summer Shutdowns To Get ‘Much More Aggressive’

The growing backlash against the activists’ shenanigans has even officials in Germany’s Green Party labeling the protests counterproductive.

On one side of the Atlantic, elected officials are urging climate activists who have already blocked highways and vandalized art galleries to get “much more aggressive” if Congress doesn’t take legislative action to curb fossil fuel companies.

In Europe, however, where the activists have to date been even more disruptive than their American counterparts, governments have decided they have had enough and are shutting down and arresting the most radical of these groups.

Muslims Chide U.S. Over Past Slavery, Ignore Islam’s Past and Present Slavery

The Council on American-Islamic Relations—which goes by the cloying acronym, CAIR—is again exposing itself for what it is: an Islamist group dedicated to “sabotaging” and “destroying the Western civilization from within.”

Following news that Fort Hood in Texas was changing its name to Fort Cavazos, CAIR exulted in a press release. Originally named after John Bell Hood (above), a Confederate general, and now named after the first Latino to become a general in the U.S. Army, CAIR endorsed the change, since, “American military bases should not be named,” preached CAIR rep, Ibrahim Hooper, after those who sought “to preserve slavery. We welcome this name change and call on all remnants of the Confederacy to be removed nationwide.”

US collapse: Aggression abroad, decadence at home

… The USA is threatening abroad and sick at home. Someone is murdered every 15 hours and 54 minutes in Chicago; you are more likely to be murdered in Chicago than die as a civilian in the Ukraine-Russia war. Walmart, a major donor to the Democratic Party which rules Chicago, is closing four of its eight Chicago stores due to rampant theft and looting.

Since the Covid crisis began stoking social and business controls and causing poverty, there has been an unprecedented exodus from Democrat controlled cities across the U.S. The top 10 cities which homeowners have been fleeing are San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, Washington, DC, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Denver, Seattle and Philadelphia.

Man who soaked Just Stop Oil protesters vows to do it again if they come back

A maintenance engineer who soaked Just Stop Oil protesters this morning has vowed to ‘do it again’ if they come back – and was sad he could not throw more at them.

Ryan Davis, 60, emptied two buckets of water as half a dozen protesters slow marched in the middle of the road past his flat in Camden, North London today.

The soaking – the most recent example of a member of the public fighting back against the eco-zealots – was captured on video.
