China in Cuba: Nuclear-Armed Communists on the Warpath

China, according to “fragmentary” U.S. intelligence reports, is about to establish a “joint military training facility” with Cuba on that island.

Chinese military personnel are already listening in on American communications from the Lourdes base near Havana and three other Cuban locations. Two of those locations have been known for some time: Bejucal and Santiago de Cuba. These facilities, it appears, have been in operation for all or most of this century.

Nets Spend ZERO Seconds on Biden Burisma Bribery

On June 8, a bombshell landed as Fox News reported that President Joe Biden had allegedly received $5 million dollars from an executive of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, the same company in which his son Hunter was involved.

It’s been 13 days since that stunning development in the Biden family scandal case broke. So how much time did the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks devote to it, in that span?

Zero seconds.

Bud Light: ‘Please Drink Our Beer Again, You Oafish Hicks’

Bud Light just ended two months of social media silence with a new online ad designed to win back boycotting customers by portraying them as “bumbling fools,” according to one Twitter critic, and as “buffoon-ish whites,” according to another.

The beer brand’s sales have plummeted almost 30% since a brief social media campaign featuring he-who-shall-not-be-named, followed by ham-fisted reversals.

Russia-Ukraine war ‘will be settled at the negotiation table’ eventually, but decades of support ahead: Joly

Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly says the war in Ukraine will eventually end through diplomacy, but that Canada’s support of the country will continue in the long term, to help prevent future conflict.

As the war approaches the 18-month mark, Joly told CTV’s Question Period host Vassy Kapelos in an interview airing Sunday that the long-term support of Ukraine by Canada and other NATO allies is critical to deterring Russia, which Joly says will remain “a very dangerous neighbour” even after the war.

Decades of support? I can’t take this woman seriously.

‘Gender-affirming surgery’ puts a feel-good phrase on child butchery

A decision by a Federal judge in Arkansas isn’t always a matter of great importance. But this week one was. The judge in question struck down Arkansas’ ban on “gender-affirming care” for minors.

Arkansas was the first state to pass such a ban, although 18 states have passed similar laws, including Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma and Texas. All have been criticized by the White House. President Biden has called such bans “outrageous” and “immoral.”

Do not let scientists rewrite Covid history. Lockdowns in America were a disaster

America stands for freedom, yet we had one of the most acquiescent populations in the world during the pandemic.

There were protests about the lockdowns, if you remember, in the UK, in Spain, in Italy, in France, in Germany and in the Netherlands.

Generally speaking in America there was a shocking lack of pushback.

Hunter Biden Deducted Payments to Hooker and Sex Club From His Taxes, Whistleblower Says

Hunter Biden deducted tens of thousands of dollars in payments he made to a prostitute and a sex club from his taxes, IRS whistleblowers told Congress.

One whistleblower, an IRS criminal investigator whose identity remains a mystery but who worked on the Biden tax probe, told members of the House Ways and Means Committee in a June 1 interview that Biden improperly deducted those expenses from his 2018 taxes.

David Eby calls not hateful or reprehensible banners over B.C. highway ‘hateful’ and ‘reprehensible’

British Columbia Premier David Eby says “hateful” banners aimed at transgender people that have hung for months over one of the province’s highways are “reprehensible” and he wishes the protesters involved would “go home.”

The premier’s comments come more than a month after a B.C. Supreme Court judge granted the government an injunction banning signs or gatherings in the area around the Mountain Highway Overpass over Highway 1 in North Vancouver.

Politicians are such scum.

Rust shooting: Prosecutors charge armourer with evidence tampering

Prosecutors have charged the Rust film armourer with evidence tampering in connection to the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed has already been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

She will face an additional charge in relation to “the transfer of narcotics to another person”, prosecutors said.

Ms Gutierrez-Reed will plead not guilty to the new charge, her lawyer said, calling it “retaliatory and vindictive”.

How the vegan bubble burst

When Piers Morgan spat out his Greggs vegan sausage roll live on Good Morning Britain four years ago, we all thought he was being dramatic; deliberately creating a viral moment that would be — and was — shared thousands of times on the internet. Mainstream veganism was booming. Eating a plant-based diet was the future of food; it was saving the planet. “Vegan bashers” such as Morgan were out of touch.

Olivia Chow touts her experience in Global News interview

“Good luck!” comes the shout from across Augusta Street as Olivia Chow walks through the Kensington Market neighbourhood she’s called home for decades.

First elected as city councillor, then as a member of Parliament, people in Toronto know her name, which is not something that can be said of her competitors in the race to be mayor. Chow chose the area for an interview because of its history of hosting waves of immigrants to the city.

TikTok videos depict what may have happened during Titanic sub’s ‘catastrophic implosion’

Bone-chilling TikTok clips show what the “catastrophic implosion” of the Titan submersible might have looked like — a terrifying re-enactment of a scenario that killed five passengers in the North Atlantic’s treacherous depths.

Implosions happen shockingly fast, as demonstrated by an old animation of a railroad tanker suddenly collapsing. TikTok animators extrapolated what that might have looked like underwater.

Human rights and 2SLGBTQ+ education should not be optional

The Toronto District School Board’s decision to allow parents to opt their children out of drag storytime — a common part of family-friendly programming during Pride Month and beyond — is a dangerous setback for 2SLGBTQ+ human rights education.

We are queer parents with elementary and secondary-aged children in the TDSB. Like many, we were alarmed by a recent report detailing confusion over board policy and disappointed with their position that schools should “accommodate” parents who want to opt-out of drag storytime delivered by board-approved partners in-class and on-site.

Good Lord.
