Roger Waters investigated over ‘Nazi costume’ at Berlin concert

Police in Berlin are investigating after Roger Waters wore an outfit that resembled a Nazi uniform during a series of concerts.

The Pink Floyd co-founder wore a black trench coat with a red armband and a symbol resembling crossed hammers rather than swastikas on his collar at two concerts at the Mercedes-Benz Arena last week. He also paraded around with a fake machinegun.

Is David Johnston in a conflict of interest? Experts say only Canadians can decide

David Johnston – China Class Crony

Since he was first named the federal government’s special rapporteur on foreign election interference, David Johnston has been accused of being unfit for the job because of his connections to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The leaders of the Conservative and Bloc Québécois parties have both said Trudeau and Johnston are self-declared friends, that their longstanding ties are too close to allow Johnston to judge the prime minister’s actions.

‘Not a simple story’: Labour shortages aren’t being driven by lack of highly educated job seekers

Shortages appear to be mostly centred in jobs requiring little education

Labour shortages in Canada appear to be mostly centred in jobs requiring little education, while employers finding it difficult to fill positions requiring higher levels of education probably aren’t facing challenges because candidates lack the necessary degrees, suggests a new research paper from Statistics Canada.

And mass immigration is going to solve this? To whose advantage?

British Cycling’s trans ruling isn’t ‘furthering genocide’

Trans athlete Emily Bridges described the move as a ‘violent act’

You can’t always get what you want. It’s something most people learn by the time they’re adults, which is just as well. Existing in a world where someone has a tantrum every time their wishes are thwarted is exhausting, especially when other people have had enough of their sense of entitlement. It must be hell right now, in other words, to be a trans activist.

There’s a rock in space that may help us unravel how life started

It sounds like science fiction: Scientists deploy a spacecraft to a speeding asteroid, scoop dirt from the space rock and drop the fragments back on Earth somewhere in the Australian outback — all in pursuit of learning how life was, and could be, formed.

That was the seven-year quest of Japan’s Hayabusa2 mission, a spacecraft that collected five grams of material from a near-Earth asteroid named Ryugu, roughly meaning “dragon palace” in Japanese. In a Japanese folk tale, Ryugu refers to a magical underwater palace where a fisherman receives a mysterious box.

Never mind AI, the streaming services are already destroying themselves

There is much concern about the frightening advance of AI. In Los Angeles, members of the Writers Guild of America which represents 11,000 writers have entered their fourth week of strikes. They are demanding, among other things, higher pay, and crucially, that the studios guarantee they won’t slice into writers royalty payments by crediting AI tools such as ChatGPT on scripts.

There is indeed a real threat of screenwriters’ jobs becoming redundant as AI advances. Yet the streaming services who employ writers are far more likely to self-sabotage long before AI becomes sophisticated enough to produce television and film scripts worthy of being made.

Just Stop Oil and the climate class war

Environmentalism is a bourgeois cult that wants ordinary people to put up with less. No wonder workers are fighting back.

I’m starting to think that Just Stop Oil is a Big Oil plant. What else could explain these campaigners’ phenomenal ability to turn the public against them and confirm their critics’ worst prejudices. Namely, that this environmental activism / amdram troupe is stuffed with upper-middle-class irritants who couldn’t give a damn about working-class people. Surely, this has got to be on purpose?

DHS: First You Watch FOX News, Then PragerU, Then You Become a Nazi

This is about criminalizing political dissent.

Disinformation and counter-extremism programs have become little more than tools for suppressing the political opposition. With DHS handing out grants to study extremism, the Media Research Center has information on what may be the single most explicit attempt at using counter-extremism funding to go after the opposition.

Disney mocked for ‘woke-a-thon’ $250M Little Mermaid live-action reboot: with ‘drag queen’ Ursula, King Triton the environmentalist, mixed-race mermen, and ‘affirmative consent’ slipped into prince’s love song

Disney is under fire for ‘wokery’ slipped into its live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, which is projected to bring in $100 million for the company despite mixed reviews this Memorial Day weekend.

Critics and audiences have given the reboot of the 1989 animated classic ‘average’ and ‘unfavorable’ reviews on ratings site Metacritic. Some bash the makers’ efforts to update the film to contemporary social mores.

Naysayers have focussed on tweaks to the plot and lyrics that play around with sex, ethnicity and cultural values to make the 125-minute remake fit with Disney’s progressive politics.

David Johnston’s tragedy has become ours

“… It has been painful to watch Mr. Johnston, a heretofore model Canadian with an unimpeachable record, twist himself in knots trying to dissociate himself from Justin Trudeau, as if their previous encounters were mere coincidences that have no bearing on his personal feelings for the man. It is even worse to see him drag a former Supreme Court justice (who is also his friend) into the mix to try back him up.”

Johnston is protecting his own interests and that of his China educated daughters and fellow grifters. He is no great man of Canada.

Not A Satanist designer dumped by Target explains how he got smeared as Satanist just because of his Satanist designs

Dresses funny, even for a Satanist

… Activists soon discovered Carnell’s independent web store, where he has sold, among other items, pins and medallions that used Satanic and occult imagery to make points about transphobia. A lavender, goat-headed medallion that reads “Satan respects pronouns” is among his most popular designs. A pin depicting a guillotine with the label “Homophobe Headrest” might be the edgiest.

It’s not Satanist when he does it.

Jesse Kline: When beer companies mock their customers for progressive cred

If there’s one thing the recent controversies over beer ads and swimsuit models highlight, it’s that marketing departments have completely lost the plot. Not content to simply reach out to new demographics, many large companies are poking their traditional customers in the eye, and then acting surprised when consumers feel alienated.

Bedlam at City Council: Somali ‘Culture’ Takes Minneapolis by Storm

In a May 11, 2023 article, we explored the oft-repeated claim that all cultures are created equal—or, in Pope Francis’s words, “Never again can the Christian community allow itself to be infected by the idea that one culture is superior to others.”

Two days later, that claim was put to test right here in the USA, when all bedlam broke lose in Minneapolis.

Talks stall as Trudeau and Ford’s multibillion offer to save Stellantis EV battery plant falls short: sources

Weeks of crisis talks to keep Stellantis from moving a massive EV battery plant out of Canada are at an impasse as Ottawa’s latest offer falls short of what the company wants, the Star has learned.

The Trudeau government has proposed to spend billions more as part of a package for Stellantis — parent company of Chrysler, Jeep and Fiat — to convince the company to restart construction on a $5-billion electric vehicle battery factory in Windsor, halted nearly two weeks ago.

One highly placed source told the Star the latest proposal is more than the initial $1-billion contribution the federal and provincial governments had promised Stellantis to construct a facility that would make 400,000 batteries a year.

Can’t blame Stellantis for holding out for more of our money and it’s a given they understand the EV market better than Junior understands ‘drink box water bottle sorta things.’
