Contrary to Post–Jan 6. Claims, the Military Does Not Overflow With Extremist Nuts

The military as a breeding ground for domestic terrorists comes as the latest narrative to crash upon hard data.

A scientific survey of nearly 1,000 veterans by the Rand Corporation, released in a report called “Prevalence of Veteran Support for Extremist Groups and Extreme Beliefs,” shows that Americans with military backgrounds actually fall for fringe groups and beliefs less than do their peers in the broader public.

Venezuela: ‘I’m paid to tweet state propaganda’

Rafael – not his real name – is a massive internet nerd. At 59 years old, he is active on all the main social media platforms, dabbles in cryptocurrencies and even calls himself an influencer.

But that is not all he does online.

Rafael is also part of a group of Venezuelans being paid by the state to tweet propaganda.

He spends at least 30 minutes a day posting pro-government content. “The aim is to amplify the information the government puts on Twitter,” he explains.

The Jihad on Christians in Mozambique

A savage jihad — replete with massacres, beheadings, and sexual enslavement — has been raging in the Christian-majority nation of Mozambique since 2017.

Few in the West are aware of this, not least as the situation has been garbed in Marxist language that seeks to depict radical terrorists as “victims” and those resisting them, including the Mozambican government, as “oppressors.”

Over 12,000 CAF Members Will Lose Canadian Military Housing Benefit …

Over 12,700 members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) will lose a military housing benefit they previously received once a modified version of the policy comes into force this July, according to recent federal figures.

… The Canadian military has recently been experiencing increased attrition and lower retention rates compared to previous years.

However, DND told The Epoch Times that it has not yet collected or seen any data suggesting the new housing differential policy is driving CAF members to file for release.

Maybe “Living as a homeless person” is a new part of CAF training.

Alberta: Hard-Right Turn of Conservatives Forces Canadians to Rethink Choices

Sitting at a cafe terrace overlooking a park commemorating the birthplace of the vast oil industry in the western Canadian province of Alberta, Audrey Cerkvenac and Ernestine Dumont, wrestled with a political dilemma.

In a province long the epicenter of Canada’s conservative politics, the two older women had been unwavering conservative supporters.

But now, as Monday’s provincial election approached, they said they had been turned off by the strident right turn the province’s conservative party had taken as it ruled Alberta during the pandemic, fueled by extremist protests against Covid restrictions and baseless claims about vaccines.

Hitler Branded Cocaine

Peruvian police seize 58kg of cocaine bearing pictures of Nazi flag

Peruvian anti-drug police have seized 58 one-kilo packages of cocaine destined for Belgium bearing a picture of a Nazi flag on the outside and the name Hitler printed in low relief.

The discovery occurred in the port of Paita, on Peru’s northern Pacific coast close to its border with Ecuador.

Probably not the best marketing campaign.

Leaders of Canadian activist and religious groups targeted by Beijing are calling for a public inquiry into foreign interference, saying it isn’t enough for former governor-general David Johnston to hold hearings to listen to their concerns about China’s efforts to silence their criticism.

Groups representing human rights activists, Muslim Uyghurs, Hong Kong pro-democracy dissidents, Falun Gong practitioners and supporters of independence for Tibet told The Globe and Mail they’ve been sounding the alarm for years about Beijing’s harassment and intimidation tactics.
