Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling knew what kept his audience up at night.
In “Walking Distance” (1959), the third episode of the first season of The Twilight Zone, we meet an emblematic modern man. He is Martin Sloan (Gig Young), an anxious and driven executive. Out for a drive, he stops at a gas station. By chance, following the dream logic that was the series’ hallmark, he sees a sign for his hometown. Drawn by some irresistible force, he leaves the car to set off on foot. When he arrives, he finds that the town is just as he left it. Indeed, he has gone back in time, to a summer from his own boyhood. He meets his parents; he confronts his childhood self, riding a merry-go-round. He tries to speak to the boy, but frightens him, causing him to fall off the ride and break his leg. His father tells him that he must go back to where he came from. “There is only one summer to every customer,” he implores. “Don’t make him share it.”

The Biden family — Joe, Hunter, and all — are guilty of bribery, but the media is hiding it.
“My son has done nothing wrong.” It’s the mantra Joe Biden repeats regularly about his son Hunter as the president tries to cloak the Biden family’s greed behind the family’s grief.

Recently, the Biden administration’s Environmental Protection Agency proposed strict new tailpipe emissions standards. These standards would force fully electric vehicles to jump from 5.8 percent of new car sales in 2021 to 67 percent by 2032. The following list gives 25 reasons why the president’s lofty goals are unwarranted and would be both economically and environmentally harmful.

Israel and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) militants in the Gaza Strip have agreed a ceasefire from 19:00 GMT on Saturday to end five days of fighting, Palestinian sources have told the BBC.
The sources cited negotiations being brokered by Egypt. Israel and the PIJ are yet to comment on the issue.
On Tuesday, Israel launched air strikes on Gaza, saying it was targeting PIJ commanders who had planned attacks.
PIJ responded by firing a barrage of rockets at Israeli cities.

Under the Biden Administration, sanctions against the ruling mullahs of Iran have simply become superficial and cosmetic. The Administration appears to be turning a blind eye when Iran’s violates the sanctions, thereby allowing the regime vastly to increase its revenues. Most of these usually assist the regime’s powerful militia and terror group, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), designated as a terrorist organization by the US Department of State.

For decades, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival has ranked as one of the nation’s preeminent theater institutions, drawing hundreds of thousands of theatergoers each year to scenic Ashland to see the classics performed. But that sterling reputation is in jeopardy as the company teeters on the brink of Chapter 11 bankruptcy following a troubled tenure by its recently departed artistic director, Nataki Garrett.

Black Chicago residents ripped a proposed migrant center Friday, citing a depletion of city resources for their community by accommodating the migrants, as well as the potential of non-citizens voting in local elections.
The residents are protesting and taking legal action to prevent Chicago from housing migrants in a closed-down high school and two other locations in the South Shore neighborhood, ABC7 Chicago reported. The city is seeing an influx of more than 200 migrants a day and has taken in 8,000 since August, prompting the city to declare an emergency as migrants have taken to sleeping in police station lobbies.

On Saturday mornings, Maggie Herdman, 31, leaves her home near Jane and Eglinton at 6 a.m. to commute nearly an hour to the Fort York Food Bank. Once there, it can take up to four hours before it’s her turn to shop inside the small College Street storefront.
Before the pandemic, Herdman used to be able to relax, sit down and read as she waited inside. Now, through rain and snow, she stands by as the line snakes behind her towards Kensington Market. “I’ve gotten sick before,” said Herdman, a recipient of Ontario Works. “But I still do it.”
