Canada is not considered a serious ally and was never invited to join AUKUS defence pact

Canada was left out of the trilateral defence and security pact known as AUKUS — and a new report by a respected American think-tank says Ottawa must overcome its apparent indifference to the deal or risk being left behind by its allies.

… “The glacial pace at which Canada appears to be adapting to the realities of modern great power competition has left it far behind the curve, with consequences for both Ottawa’s reputation among its allies and its ability to protect Canadian territory, sovereignty, and contribute to global peace and stability,” said the report, which probed the reasons why Canada was left out of AUKUS.

“The simple answer is that Ottawa was apparently not invited.”

The Mediterranean bolthole offering a safe haven for Putin’s oligarchs

Western sanctions against Russian oligarchs were meant to put pressure on Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine.

Instead, many elites have simply gone on holiday.

Take Roman Abramovich: the former Chelsea owner has reportedly rented a mansion on the Bosphorus, the waterway that cleaves Istanbul in two and is said to divide Europe from Asia. Abramovich also appears to have moved his superyacht to Turkey.

Laughable for Liberals to say they ‘won’t tolerate’ Chinese interference

“Persona non grata.” In diplomatic circles, those three words are the equivalent of excommunication. Under Article 9 of the 1963 Vienna Convention for Diplomatic Relations, to which Canada is a party, a country can declare any member of another nation’s diplomatic corps persona non grata “at any time and without having to explain its decision.” It is considered “the most damning form of censure a country can bestow on foreign diplomats.”

Bud Light contagion SPREADS to other Anheuser-Busch beers

Sales of Anheuser-Busch products have dropped in the month since Bud Light went ahead with the disastrous campaign with Dylan Mulvaney.

Beer Business Daily commented that ‘it’s not pretty’ for America’s flagship brand and their parent company Anheuser-Busch after revealing the numbers for beer across April.

Anheuser-Busch volumes were down more than 12 percent last month, with Bud Light falling a staggering 21.4 percent – as the controversial trans influencer stepped out in pigtails

William Watson: The unfortunate example of Hillary Clinton — Populist trumps unpopular

Justin Trudeau has begun to grate on people the way Secretary Clinton did in 2016

A prime minister celebrating 30 years since coming to office, 60 years since first being elected to Parliament and 90 years on the planet, and a former American first lady and secretary of state who lost one presidential campaign to Barack Obama and a second to Donald Trump may not be the most dynamic duo with which to prove your political party is still leading-edge. It’s especially a problem when the people you put up to interview them — François-Philippe Champagne in the case of former prime minister Jean Chrétien and Chrystia Freeland for former first lady and secretary of state Hillary Clinton — look like they don’t really belong in the same league, even after several years in government.

Germany sees record number of politically motivated crimes

Germany recorded 58,916 cases of politically motivated crime in 2022, an increase of some 7% compared with the previous year, according to figures released on Tuesday.

Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said right-wing extremism remained the greatest threat to German democracy, with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the COVID-19 pandemic also cited as important factors for the rise in politically motivated crime.

A significant increase was also recorded in crimes and acts of violence by the far-right Reichsbürger (citizens of the Reich) movement.

The trans cult is the devil’s work

IF YOU haven’t already read TCW‘s transcript of Jennifer Bilek’s excellent video on the origins of the trans political movement, then don’t miss it – it sheds some light on a phenomenon which took most of us by surprise.

Jenn Smith’s 2017 essay ‘Synanon, the Brainwashing “Game” and Modern Transgender Activism: The Orwellian Implications of Transgender Politics’  covers similar ground, but from a different perspective. A transgender academic specialising in the study of cults, Jenn Smith quickly recognised the parallels of cults with modern trans-activism. His is a somewhat lonely voice advocating for ‘performance-based’ transgenderism which rejects pharmaceutical and surgical interventions and does not ignore or deny biological reality.

America’s undersea lifelines

It is out of sight and usually out of mind, but recent events are forcing Americans to focus on the security of a vast network of undersea cables that the nation depends upon.

In early February 2022, cables connecting Taiwan to its Matsu Islands off the coast of China were cut in what appears to be an act of sabotage that Taipei later ascribed to Chinese vessels. It took nearly two months for the internet to be up and running again, highlighting the importance of a largely ignored element of a country’s critical infrastructure.

Hollywood Learns The Downsides Of Mass Manufacturing Leftist Drivel With AI

You’ve probably heard by now that the Writers Guild of America (WGA) is on strike. According to the labor union and its affiliates — representing just fewer than 12,000 writers across traditional and digital media — the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), the group representing corporate studios and streaming services, would not grant union writers “a new contract with fair pay that reflects the value of our contribution to company success.”

Report: Former CIA Director Misled Signatories of Hunter Biden Laptop Letter

A new report further reveals the details of former CIA Director Michael Morell’s efforts to gather together dozens of former intelligence officials to sign onto a letter denouncing the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop in 2020.

According to Fox News, a report published on Sunday in the New York Post revealed that Morell lied to the 51 signers of the letter by telling them that he would “clear the statement with the Publication Review Board at CIA.” In an email Morell sent to all of the signatories on October 18th, 2020, he said that he “drafted the attached because we believe the Russians were involved in some way in the Hunter Biden email issue and because we think Trump will attack Biden on the issue at this week’s debate and we want to give the VP a talking point to use in response.”

Russia Victory Day: Putin denounces West during parade speech

President Putin used his Victory Day address today to fire a tirade of accusations against the West, claiming that it had provoked conflict, sown hatred and destroyed family values, as he sought to make the case for his faltering war against Ukraine.

Just hours after sending a new barrage of cruise missiles against Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, Putin accused the West of “unleashing war against Russia” after forgetting “who defeated the Nazis” in the Second World War and “creating a new cult of Nazism” through the destruction of Soviet memorials in eastern Europe.

Warrant reveals Texas mall shooter had memory card with handwritten note attached, handcuffs, and hat with ‘security’ on it inside motel room

The Texas gunman who killed eight people and injured another seven when he opened fire at an outlet mall over the weekend had a memory card with a handwritten note attached and three boxes of ammo inside his motel room.

Mauricio Garcia, 33, was staying at the Budget Suites of America on North Stemmons Freeway in Dallas before he shot up the Allen outlet mall on Saturday afternoon.

There, a newly-unsealed warrant says, investigators found a trove of evidence linking Garcia to the fatal shooting — including three boxes of ammunition, a tactical vest, a sheathed knife, nine bullets in a ‘critical defense box,’ handcuffs, a rifle hand guard, and an additional holster.
