That’s according to a letter, dated Nov. 29, 2022, and obtained by the Ottawa online outlet Blacklock’s Reporter.

Conservative MP accuses minister of taking ‘no meaningful action’ on Chinese ‘police stations’

… In a testy exchange, Cooper pressed Mendicino to explain why Canada hasn’t arrested any officials or expelled any diplomats tied to the handful of police stations China is believed to have operated in Canada.

Human rights groups have accused the Chinese government of using the stations to threaten and monitor members of the diaspora abroad.

“Not a single Beijing diplomat expelled. Why not, minister?” asked Cooper. “You’ve taken no meaningful action.”

Why American Life Spans Are Getting Shorter

It’s about behavior more than policy

Americans aren’t living as long as we used to. A child born in 2021 can expect, on average, to live to the age of 76.1. That’s a decline of nearly a year from 2020, according to the CDC, and a nearly three-year decline from 2019. The last time life expectancy was this low was 1996.

Most of the world, of course, saw a sharp drop in life expectancy in 2020, largely because of the Covid pandemic. But while life expectancy rebounded in 2021 in most similarly developed countries, it continued to fall in the United States. In fact, Americans have lived less long on average than their developed-world peers for decades — at least since the 1980s, by some estimates.

Good riddance to the metaverse

The project’s signal achievement was to light untold quantities of money on fire

So pack it all in then. Away with the wisecracking butterfly that sits on your shoulder during work meetings. Out with the Gamorrean Guards who play Texas Hold’em with you around a floating table.

The metaverse, Mark Zuckerberg’s fever dream of a virtual-reality infused world, is dead. That’s assuming it was ever alive and kicking in the first place.

Pentagon minions call the U.S. ‘a better country’ now that Tucker Carlson is off the air

The creepy little leakers, planters, and schemers of the Pentagon sprang to life again with news of Fox News’s firing of Tucker Carlson.

According to Politico:

“We’re a better country without him bagging on our military every night in front of hundreds of thousands of people,” said one senior DoD official, who like others interviewed for this story was granted anonymity to discuss a politically sensitive topic.

“Good riddance,” said a second DoD official.

Chinese cars pose an existential threat to Europe

Electric vehicles are taking over from German diesel

The European automotive sector — above all the German car industry — is a bulwark of the EU’s economic might. But for how much longer? It’s becoming increasingly clear that Chinese exports pose an existential threat.

This week, Brad Setser, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, tweeted out two charts that illustrate the astonishing speed and scale of recent developments.

So is Justin’s VW horse already on its way to the Glue Factory?

National Citizen’s Inquiry Suspended by YouTube

The National Citizen’s Inquiry (NCI), a non-government public inquiry into COVID-19 being organized by Canadians, said it had been suspended by YouTube for a two-week period.

The temporary suspension, announced by NCI on April 26, means the Alberta hearings, being held in Red Deer, will not be broadcast or livestreamed on the organization’s YouTube channel.

This is what the NCI has been up to …

Lawyer Testifies That Canadian Military Doctors Were Told Not to Report Vaccine Injuries

Can Justin Trudeau’s Canada get any more authoritarian?

The Liberal Party’s new online-streaming bill is yet another egregious assault on our liberties.

Canadians will soon be relieved of the stress of seeking out content they find interesting on social media. Instead they will be able to relax, while the government chooses it for them.

This is the intention of Bill C-11, the Online Streaming Act, which is currently being debated in the Canadian Senate. If passed, it will empower the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), a government agency, to filter what Canadians see in their social-media feeds and on YouTube.

The world is growing tired of Canada’s freeloading on defence

They are on to us.

The only shocking thing about that bombshell Washington Post report, that Justin Trudeau privately told NATO officials Canada would “never” meet the NATO target for defence spending of 2 per cent of GDP, is how entirely unshocking it was – to anyone, least of all our NATO allies.

Statements like this from Junior combined with his role in the China grift make me more convinced he is being pushed out by forces beyond CSIS.

Fox Ratings Plummet After Tucker Carlson’s Departure

Carlson’s old 8 p.m. time slot was hit the hardest — down nearly 70 percent compared to last Tuesday.

Controversial bill to regulate online streaming becomes law

A controversial government bill to overhaul Canadian broadcasting laws to regulate streaming services has passed the final hurdle in the Senate and received royal assent Thursday evening.

After years of debate, the Senate gave its final approval Thursday to Bill C-11, also known as the Online Streaming Act. It received royal assent shortly after.

The bill makes changes to Canada’s Broadcasting Act. The legislation requires streaming services, such as Netflix and Spotify, to pay to support Canadian media content like music and TV shows.

It also requires the platforms to promote Canadian content. Specifically, the bill says “online undertakings shall clearly promote and recommend Canadian programming, in both official languages as well as in Indigenous languages.”

If the usual crap is left available on a given streaming service then the addition of CanCon crap won’t be a game changer.

I think Prime already offers a dedicated CanCon section, I just skip over it.

I am not going to watch any more CanCon than I do now, which is almost zero.

If the crap we like is supplanted by the Inuit Muslim Lesbian Beadwork Hour then the use of VPN’s or other means to get around the blockade will skyrocket.
