Romanian, Indian families found dead crossing into US from Canada

Six people from two families — one of Romanian descent with Canadian passports, the other from India — were found dead in a marsh near the Canada-US border after trying to cross illegally into the United States, police said Friday.

Their bodies were discovered late Thursday near a capsized boat belonging to a missing man from the Akwesasne Mohawk community, local deputy police chief Lee-Ann O’Brien told a news conference.

“The six individuals are believed to be from two families, one of Romanian descent and the other believed to be citizens of India,” she said, adding that they include five adults and one child under the age of three.

Of Beavis, Burritos, and Bombs: DOJ Nabs Alleged Pro-Abortion Terrorist

Hoping for reformation on his alleged pyromaniac tendencies asks for too much.

The one-way ticket to Guatemala became a one-way ticket to the slammer.

The Justice Department announced an arrest earlier this week at Logan Airport in Boston in the firebombing of a Wisconsin Family Action office in Madison, Wisconsin, last May. The terroristic act came in anticipation of the Dobbs v. Jackson decision that allowed states to restrict abortion throughout pregnancy.

Beware the AI voice thieves

After years of blissful indifference, finally I’m scared of AI. I’ve been complacent, slept soundly beside my husband as he stares and mutters, sleepless with anxiety about robots. But now I’m frightened too. What happened was this.

A few weeks ago a friend received a phone call from her son, who lives in another part of the country. ‘Mum, I’ve had an accident,’ said the son’s voice. She could hear how upset he was. Her heart began to pound. ‘Are you OK? What happened?’ she said.

State-Sponsored Tattletales

Massachusetts creates a system of decentralized surveillance in public schools

A phenomenon is sweeping many Massachusetts public schools: the “bias incident report.” The inner-ring Boston suburb of Newton (home of Jake Auchincloss, the congressman for the Fourth District) hosts an online portal where a person can report any cases of “hate speech, bias, or discrimination.” Another wealthy suburban district, Acton-Boxborough, lays out a protocol for the reporting and investigation of “all incidents of bias, including prejudice, bigotry, microaggressions and cultural appropriation.” Belmont, Lexington, and Wellesley are among other elite suburbs with these kinds of protocols, though their emergence is not confined to wealthy districts: Boston Public Schools has its own “equity” reporting form.

After news broke Thursday that the leftist prosecutor Alvin Bragg and his Grand Jury voted to indict Trump, Florida Republican governor Ron DeSantis took to Twitter with a statement defending Trump and letting Americans know he would not help extradite the former President to New York to be arraigned. This news triggered the always unhinged MSNBC ReidOut host Joy Reid who used to occasion to claim DeSantis’s statement was a dog whistle that African Americans like Bragg are controlled by Jewish millionaires.

Leadership Crisis in America

America is in crisis. More and more Americans are increasingly distrustful of America’s leadership across the board. In one of the latest surveys, Pew Research found only 21% of respondents said they “just about always” or “most of the time” – 2% and 19% respectively — trusted the government to do the right thing. In the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, that number was 49%. These numbers should frighten everyone. It is hard to imagine how a country functions effectively if only 21% of its citizens believe they can trust their government to do the right thing most of the time. What does this mean and why are the numbers so low?

Belgium: Muslim terror gang targeted Antwerp mayor, police say

Antwerp Mayor Bart De Wever was a possible target of the “radicalized Muslim youths” who were arrested Monday by Belgian police.

“De Wever’s name was indeed mentioned in the Antwerp file as one target, among other targets,” Eric Van Der Sypt, spokesman for the Public Prosecutor’s Office, confirmed to POLITICO, “but it is not the case that there was already a day and an hour on which the attack was to take place. It wasn’t that concrete.”

Governments Used ‘Fifth-Generation Warfare’ During COVID, Robert Malone Tells National Citizen’s Inquiry

Governments used “fifth-generational warfare” techniques to modify public perception during the COVID-19 pandemic, while the reporting of media outlets shifted into propaganda, two experts testified at the National Citizen’s Inquiry (NCI).

“Over the last three years, Western governments, non-governmental organizations, as well as media, pharmaceutical, and financial corporations deployed a massive, globally harmonized psychological and propaganda operation,” said Dr. Robert Malone.

Former CSIS official calls for new security agency to counter PRC interference

Two former intelligence officials called for a complete transformation of Canada’s security apparatus to counter expanding foreign interference operations that they say have been essentially ignored by Ottawa since the 1990s.

On Friday the House of Commons standing committee on access to information, privacy and ethics heard recommendations for a new national and independent office with powers to investigate and prosecute acts of foreign interference, and also rapid adoption of counter-interference laws that have already been implemented by Canadian allies such as Australia.

WaPo editorial board: This Trump indictment looks pretty dodgy to us

The entire effort by Alvin Bragg to resurrect what the Washington Post editorial board rightly calls a “zombie” case has looked dodgy from the beginning. Even Bragg found it dodgy — after all, he shut down an investigation into the payoffs to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal shortly after taking office. And unless Bragg has a much different case than the one his office has been pursuing for the last couple of years, the editorial board echoed Van Jones in their reaction last night.
